This is basically a homage to old NES games, and it's an amazing one. Visuals are lovely, music is great and gameplay is the best of classic 8-Bit games like Mega Man. Though it has some of those game's problems like knock back and damage. Overall worth while.

Although I had already owned the digital version of this game, I had purchased the physical copy for the manual that was included. The manual reminded me of the old manuals that would be included in games, which were the somewhat thick ones Also the game is a lot of fun and I wanted to support the developers.

Such a good game, difficulty is right on the money. Haven't finished the game yet but there seems to be a lot of value and replayabilty

I think some retro-style gaming fatigue has begun setting in, with so many sub-par games going for that 8-bit look being released the last few years. But this game is truly an exception. Even after reading so many good reviews for Shovel Knight, I was still blown away. No matter what, you should play this game. It's a must.

Shovel Knight is an amazing gaming experience harkening back to the old days of the 8 bit era. This game brings back fond memories of my Nintendo and Genesis days with true gaming platforming which combines Ducktales and Megaman to create a one of a kind experience and relive the golden age of videos all over again.

Imagine if developers kept making 80s NES style games long after the hardware had become far more powerful and had limits on object size or numbers. Well, here you go. A classic tile mapped platformer that doesn't know it's running on a modern powerhouse console.

While not to the level of the classic Super Mario games, Shovel Knight is a simple, entertaining platformer that is a great throwback to what many consider gaming's better years.

Shovel Knight is a lovingly crafted game from people who loved classic games from the 80s and early 90s. Everything from the art, level design, and controls are excellent... if you enjoy 2D games, give Shovel Knight a buy, you will not regret your purchase.

This is a fun game that my kids cannot put down. They absolutely love it. I have even caught my husband playing it after the kids have gone to bed. I would highly recommend for people with younger kids (6+) and those that are young at heart

If you're a fan of older games in the 8 bit era, this game is a must. Great gameplay, nice variety of levels and bosses. There's also upgrades to keep the gameplay interesting. Nice music and visuals, with free future updates to come.

This was an interesting game for me to buy. Interesting that it wasn't made by one of the big game makers, but heard some good things from gamers on the gameplay. The moment I started playing, it was hard to stop playing due to the interesting gameplay and difficulty. Highly recommend for those long weekends of relaxing at home.

I finally got around to picking this game up and I was not disappointed. I was impressed by the gameplay, bosses, and overall look of the game. I think this is a game almost any gamer can enjoy and appreciate.

This game brings me back to the days of duck tales. It is a solid action platformer in the vein of megaman. On a plus side this comes with a full color manual unlike most games these days. Love it.

I originally purchased Shovel Knight for the PS VIta and had an outstanding time with it (and I still am). After completing the game, I decided to buy the physical copy on PS4 for my brother. The game takes inspiration from a collection of classic 2-D side-scrolling games. If you are a fan of Mega-Man, Super Mario Bros, Castelvania, and Duck Tales, this game is right up your alley. It is a game for all ages and it is a joy to play. It will challenge you, annoy you with fun enemies, make you smile, and satisfy your gaming pleasures. There is also tremendous re-playability here, with free DLC and a New Game Plus mode. Oh, and the soundtrack is exceptional. Pick up Shovel Knight now!

My grandson son seems to enjoy this video game a lot. The reason I chose this game, is because my grandson is only six and is not old enough for the call of duty and a lot of other games. There is really not to many playstation games for younger children, as they have for the older ones.

I dig it, it is an homage to old school digging games like Dig Dug, Digger T Rock and Shovel Lad which I may or may not have just made up.

This game is jam-packed full of fun! Epic side scrolling platform game. Brings back memories of playing SNES or NES but to the modern console with a game that does not disappoint

Very reminiscent of the NES days. I love the Art style and music. Just challenging enough to be fun but not frustrating. Great buy!

Shovel Knight definitely feels like a super polished 2D adventure game with a great twist on the old-school 8-bit NES feel. The difficulty levels offered let you play through casually and scale up to a frustratingly difficulty level, so it's great for replayability if you're the type to go back and find all the secrets or run through the entire game without dying once.
