I can’t say enough good things about SimpliSafe’s professionally monitored system. Recently, a would-be intruder tried to break into my home, but thanks to SimpliSafe, they didn’t get far! As soon as the alarm went off, their monitoring team contacted the police immediately. Within minutes, the intruder was caught and arrested. The system worked flawlessly, and I felt completely secure knowing I had real professionals watching over my home. From the easy setup to the peace of mind it gives me daily, I’d recommend SimpliSafe to anyone looking for true home security. This system really does what it promises!

This Kit Simpli Rocks

Having been a 6-year owner of the first generation SimpliSafe Home Security suite-- which included a handful of door, motion and glass break sensors, and the original keypad for arming and unarming your system; I was excited to install the most current iteration of their lineup. Upgrading from the first gen system was fairly simple. And the features I’d grown to love and expect from SimpliSafe seemed to only improve with the updated system. To put it “Simpli”: This kit rocks.
*General Installation*:
The installation process was a breeze. I was able to login to the SimpliSafe app, select “Replace Base Station”, and from there I then paired up the new one. It took about 10 minutes for the sim card in the new unit to be activated. It uses a sim card, similar to a cell phone, because the base station uses cell phone towers for police dispatch services in the event of a triggered alarm.
Next, I powered up the new keypad and set a master pin (which is used to arm and disarm the system). The keypad then guided me through adding all the other sensors. What’s cool is the ability to add custom names to each of the sensors if the pre-named options don’t fit what you’re looking for. You do have to enter in the names using old-school T9 text entry on the keypad, but it works. I used this option to name some of my window entry sensors.
The entry sensors were a breeze to install. Once you pull the tabs to activate the batteries, you press a button on each unit which pairs it to the keypad and base station. You can then either mount the sensors with the included screws or the attached M3 adhesive strips. I chose to use the adhesive strips because they had proved sound over the last 6-years with the OG system, and were even easy to remove when I was ready to install this updated system. The motion and glass break sensors are activated and installed in the same way.
After installation of all seven entry sensors, and misc. motion and glass break sensors, it was time to install the keypad. This was again as simple as peeling off the wax paper from the M3 adhesive strips and plastering it to the wall, with a level to keep it even of course.
*Cameras*:
Adding the cameras was a little bit of a different process. There’s a dedicated option in the SimpliSafe app instead of using the keypad. The indoor camera required me to scan a QR code from the SimpliSafe app, which the camera identified and used to connect to my Wi-Fi and from there the Base Station. The outdoor cam, which I decided to place in my garage, required me to charge up a removable and rechargeable internal battery pack. Once that was fully charged and plugged into the camera, the app was loaded up once again. This time instead of scanning a QR code, pressing the sync button on the camera connected it to the base station which then made it recognizable in the app.
The cameras both support 1080p resolution, however, they can be limited to lower resolutions such as 480p and 720p. Interestingly, the indoor cam defaulted to 720p while the outdoor cam defaulted to the higher 1080p resolution. I felt fine using these settings given I had placed the indoor cam slightly further form the base station and wireless router, so I figured keeping it at 720p would place less strain on my wireless network and potentially prevent any streaming issues. More on latency later.
The indoor cam is an interesting little device. It has an option which I’m glad is on by default, and that is a physical camera shutter that’s activated when your alarm system is disarmed. What’s quirky though is that the motion detection sensor seems to still be active while the shutter is closed, and the system is disarmed/off. I can’t tell for certain, but it makes a clicking noise that I recognize from other motion sensors. I didn’t see a way to limit this feature in the app settings.
These devices use Event Base Recording, meaning they aren’t recording 24/7, rather only when motion is detected. What I was happy to learn is that the cameras don’t automatically trigger an alarm when motion is detected. Instead, alerts are sent to your phone for review when the cameras are triggered. This was a concern of mine, but I’m happy knowing that the sirens won’t go off as soon as I pull into the garage after work.
Video resolution on the cameras is good. However, I did notice a small bit of latency which seemed to be slightly more than I’ve experienced with similar devices by competitors. But it wasn’t unbearable by any means.
Depending on which plan you choose, the cameras will either send you trigger alerts so you can check out the motion they detect, or will record trigger activity which will then be uploaded to SimpliSafe’s cloud storage for 30-days. With the latter option you can go back and view all motion trigger activity from the app. The recording quality was solid, so no complaints there.
*Differences Between the Old and New System*
Let’s start with the keypad, which is more modern looking with the update. I’ll take that as a positive. Its footprint is slightly smaller than the original, though I never thought that was of much concern. Of note, the new unit doesn’t appear as flush on the wall compared to the old one, but no big deal. The difference between the screens on the two is definitely noticeable. The OG system had a fairly rudimentary always on LCD display. The new one has a nicer screen, but it times out after about 15-30 seconds and goes completely black. It’s motion sensitive though, so just walk by it and the screen turns back on again. I’ll say, having gotten so used to the old version I miss being able to peek my head inside the garage door and see the alarm countdown timer at a glance without having to trigger the screen to turn on.
The entry sensors on the new system are significantly smaller than the original version and are much less of an eye sore. The first gen sensors housed some 123 sized batteries, which are pretty large in and of themselves. The new sensors use some CR2032 coin cell batteries to get the size down to where they are. Given the change in batteries used between the old and new systems, it’ll be interesting to see the battery life disparity between the two over the long term. For reference, I only had to change the batteries in the old sensors once in six years.
Moving on to the base station: my previous unit was so old, SimpliSafe had to send me a new sim card and antenna so that it would still be functionally capable of connecting to cell towers for dispatch services. The new one should be more future proof. Other than being newer, the updated base station is slightly smaller in size. The unit’s entry sensor alert tones have been updated, and the system voice is new and more modern as well. I do feel like the entry sensor alert volume is slightly more finicky than the previous version. You can adjust the volume levels in the app, but the medium volume setting seemed too quiet whereas the high-volume setting seemed slightly too loud in comparison to the old base station. It’s a small complaint because overall these are nice updates.
Final notes:
- The old system wasn’t capable of connecting to WiFi networks as another option in addition to cellular dispatch. I’m happy to report that here in the new system there is the option to connect to WiFi that’s presented in the setup process. (This is also needed to install the new cameras.)
- Both the old and new base station feature battery backup so you can rest assured that your alarm will still be active should you experience a power outage.
If I could rate this 4.5 starts, I would, given some of my very minor complaints mentioned. But since I can’t, I’m rounding up to 5. You can’t go wrong with SimpliSafe’s monitoring. As a longtime customer, I’ve never had an issue with arming or disarming my system, receiving false alarms, or had any problems with the app. So, I expect the new system will hold up just as well as the old one.

Super Simple and Great System

Simpli Safe is really a pleasant surprise.
I was on the fence with buying Simpli Safe a while ago when it first came out but now I am a believer.....
My friend installed the first generation of their system and he gave mixed comments. His major complaint revolved round sensors not being recognized or having issues. Despite that after my installation I am a believer. I think his issue was that his Wifi was not that great through his house.
Setup.....
Setup took some time. I had to put on the mind of a thief and ask where were my vulnerable locations in my house and build my system installation from there...
With that in mind, deployment of the entry sensors was super easy.... The motion sensors was super easy, the glass break sensor was super easy, both indoor and outdoor cameras were super easy...... I used the Android app to set almost everything up and it was a snap.
So bottom line super easy. I suggest that you install the keypad LAST..... As it causes a wrinkle if you install it sooner. This is where it had some conflicts with the app. It bounced back and forth between the app and the pad a few times.
After all said and done, the system is easy to use. Keypad and remote FOB.
Cameras are pretty clear. Day vision is better than night. Also aperture distance is not that far. So keep that in mind.
The key pad was easy to use. Also the app is easy to use.
Overall experience was good.
Back in the day only a few brick and mortar firms had their tight grip on home security systems.
Not anymore.
Base also works off of battery and hard wired. I have my base tied to a UPS so I am all set.
Anyway, I would highly recommend this system for those who are in the Market.
Also adding additional sensors and devices makes this system have endless possibilities.
Good job Simpli Safe.
I would definitely recommend this product.

Easy, Simple install, Baby monitor too?

Funny enough we are using the indoor camera as a baby monitor until we buy another one to add to the system for our main entrance. This works wonderful because not only do you get full 1080p live video from the app (we simply watch live during nap times on our ipad from the app) you also get audio and can talk to them when needed from anywhere you are, even remotely! I thought this was a really cool use i dont hear of many people doing so i wanted to start off with that. On to my thoughts of the whole package.
When i got this i was thinking i might be in over my head as far as install goes and that was the main concern. Let me say this is not the case and I was really surprised how simple it actually was to set up. The fact the outdoor camera has a rechargeable battery makes it so nice it only took like 5 mins to hang up. The sensors and even the keypad have a 3M tape to them that uses the pull tabs so it won't ruin your walls or windows if you ever need to take them off which is super nice and easy to set up.
Basically you take your base station out and download the simplisafe app and you're off. It will connect to your wifi network and then the app guides you through every step of the way which makes it so so nice to install everything as it all just makes sense step by step in their breakdown in app and paperwork. You set up each sensor and camera and scan some QR codes to pair them to your base station (which talks to you every step of the way) confirming everything is good.
The indoor camera has an amazing privacy shutter inside of it that physically blocks off the lens when you're home if that's what you choose your shutter option to be (fully changeable in the app to auto close when you're home etc). Thought this was cool if you have the full subscription where they monitor that when you're home they can't be watching your family without your knowledge.
The outdoor camera is simply two screws for the base plate which then attaches to a bracket that has a magnet that sticks strongly to your actual camera itself. Again super super easy to install just be sure to put it in a place you can get it to recharge OR buy the optional solar panel attachment so you never need to charge.
Quality of the indoor camera can be turned up to 1080p and provides a crystal clear picture even in the dark when it automatically turns on IR mode for night vision. The outdoor has the same but also has a spotlight mode that uses the built in LED light. Both of the cameras as long as set up correctly are excellent field of view and just what is expected in a system like this.
Everything else that comes with the system like glass sensors, window and door sensors etc all use two sided tape as stated earlier and are extremely simple to install and setup. Seriously, I was shocked how little time it actually took to complete.
This comes with a free trial to get you started on the complete package that they offer with 3rd party security etc. You can set up all your personal details and such in the case of emergency to ensure proper response when needed. Otherwise after the trial you can go down to a basic subscription which is essentially just local use and camera(s) functionality for the most part or when you have no subscription you can simply use the camera portion bare bones and not sweat the bill even though it's an insignificant amount monthly for a great service like this. It even comes with stickers for the windows and such to make sure it's known you are secure.
Overall extremely satisfied with this system for the money! The only thing I wish they included in the kit was the doorbell (and maybe the solar panel charger for the outdoor camera) but those are easy enough to purchase separately after the fact and add to your home base/system.

been using Simplisafe for a week now, i’ve installed all door chime around the house, that would be the front door, garage door, back door and my patio door. i’m happy to know I have a much more secured space and knowing that my fiancé works at home any extra protection I could get around the house makes me feel at ease a lot better.
Installing Simplisafe base station is fairly simple, it’s a sleek curve glass shape this will communicate to all alarm devices that you connect to it, the keypad I installed this beside my garage door for a much easier access. the bundle also came with outdoor camera and I love have you can detach it whenever you want since it’s only being held by strong magnet, the main mount ofcourse need to be screwed in beyond I can literally grab this with my hand once it’s time to charge the battery again, looking at the camera I believe you can also have this fully wired if you want to, but I charge the battery fully before I end up hanging it outside the front door above my garage, battery still looked great after a week. it’s now at 81% switch it will prob last at least a month before I can charge it.
the outdoor camera is 1080p but can adjusted to lower resolution 720p and 480p if you prefer, it support night vision and spotlight, where lights will turn on when it detects any motion. you also have active zone access so if you want certain sections of the video that you might not want an alert, you can also select those key sections to you will have zero alert. the camera also have speaker, it will sound a siren during an alarm. overall it works it looks good simplistic camera that achieve what I need.
bundle also come with one indoor camera, this one is kinda basic, it doesn’t move so you’ll just have to find a great spot for it, it’s also 1080p and can be lowered to 720p 480p for less bandwidth on your internet connection. it also support for night vision, honestly this camera is ok, the night vision and switching it to color view when there’s light around was kinda slow, even tho some lights in my house is on literally at the field of view of this camera, it’s still stuck on night vision. camera support motion detection and mic & audio. I do love the weight but again this camera is so basic i just wish it moves around.
the bundle I got didn’t come with the keypad but after contacting, they manage to sent me the missing product within 3 days so no complaints on that, the keypad tho was fairly straight forward, nothing special about it, you have the number button to insert your password, you have an Off, Home and Away button to start or cancel your alarm. I was hoping for the keypad to have more useful tips that’s pops out but the text is so small that I sometimes I have to look a little longer to what the message it’s popping up on it’s black and white mini screen. also the keypad doesn’t need to be screwed in, it packs with 3M sticker for you to use for the frame, and it takes 4 AA batteries.
coming on talking about the base station of simplisafe. I wish it actually announce which door was recently opened but instead you just get a chime, programming the door alarm you have presets of names that you can use but for some reason audio for each names that you pick, this is such a let down for me. Id recommend maxing out the audio setting of base station, I did test the alarm just to see how loud it can get and it’s definitely enough to get your attention even while you’re a sleep. couple of the other device like extra door chime I wasn’t able to use, but the bundle does gives enough door alert and it’s fantastic. the bundle also comes with a small dongle of buttons that’s included Home, Away and Off, I have this on my living room since my living room is on the second floor, it’s somewhat handy since I don’t have to go downstairs to activate Home setting. but I can also do it right on the app on your phone. from the phone I have the ability to watch all the alerts like view my outdoor camera and and indoor camera live. overall i’m pretty satisfied with simplisafe, I did sign up for an actual membership for their security, not really know how good it is if it ever come to a time where a cop needs to shop up so I can’t really comment on that, but all the device that was included in the bundle was a great multiple devices to have. I just wish they could update the base station to actually announce the which door was opened rather than a sound.

Easy to set up system with a caveat

Security systems have been around for a while, with pretty much the same features.
The Simplisafe system, is more of the same, but with a little bit of a modern update.
Out of the box you get the base station, the keypad, an outdoor camera, an indoor camera, a key fob, 8 door/window sensors, 1 glass break sensors, 2 motion sensors, one panic button, steaks to help stand the included signs, and a few inserts.
As overwhelming it may seem after taking everything out of the box, the set up was quite easy. Was it tedious? YES. Still, easy…
Like with most tech these days, you need a smartphone to run this system.
The main instruction tells you clearly to install the app. So before all else, install the app. Registration takes a minute.
The base station is the central hub. This is what needs to be set up before anything else.
Once the base station is installed, connected to wi-fi, and updated, you’ll be prompted on the app to include each of the included accessories one by one. (This is where the tedium comes to play).
Once all of the desired accessories are paired with the base station, then you can arm, disarm at your leisure.
Both of the cameras offer very good picture quality. I’m not sure how good the weather proofing of the outdoor camera is since we’ve had no rain since I installed it. I guess I’ll find out eventually. One odd thing is that the "outdoor" camera is connected to the base via a magnet. I think it may be easy to steal, so I'm thinking it may not be an outdoor camera.
The door sensors work pretty well. The glass sensor was installed, but I couldn’t really test it without shattering some glass, and since I didn’t have any extra glass around to break, and more realistically, I didn’t want to clean it up, I couldn’t test that either. Maybe I’ll test it with a beer bottle.
The motion sensors work really well. I do wish that they included a light fixture with the motion detector so a light will go on when it senses motion.
The panic button is a nice touch to freak out not only any intruder, but everybody else who is in the house and doesn’t expect it.
Once you set up the keypad and FOB, you're all set.
Now, I didn't expect this system to have a monthly fee. You can decline the coverage and have some basic coverage, but without one of the paid tiers, you won't have monitoring support.
All in all, it's a nice little system.

This system could not be easier to set up! After downloading the app, it literally walks you through all the steps to add and connect any parts you want. The first thing you connect is the base. That is simply entering the serial number under the base into the app and you are ready to get started!
The keypad is then used to "register" any of the other items. So far, I have connected door and window sensors, a glass break sensor and an indoor and an outdoor camera.
I still have the panic alarm, key fob and motion sensors to decide what I want to do with. I have a cat and they do say you can use the motion sensors with pets but they must aim up high. I am just afraid of false alarms if my cat jumps up on something high!
I love that the cameras are wireless. They set up quickly. I use the outdoor camera to watch the backyard and two entry doors I have back there that are hidden from the view of the street.
We did test the sound just to see how loud it is and boy were we surprised! It is VERY loud.
I have not connected to external monitoring at this time. They do offer a free trial and I may take advantage of that to test the monitoring portion of the home security system.
With our without connecting to a monitoring company, I feel that having the siren and window stickers announcing the alarm system will be enough to deter some break-ins.

Complete DIY Security System with Monitoring
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
SimpliSafe is a popular DIY home security system with indoor and outdoor cameras and 24 hours/7-day monitoring service. I had a traditional BASIC (without cameras) home security monitoring service with another company, but I discontinued the service because they wanted to increase the price and wanted a 3-year contract. I am glad that SimpliSafe is a better option because it provides the same monitoring service and uses a camera for video verification, reducing false alarms almost to zero. The monitoring response center uses the video verification option to view live video to confirm an actual security issue to provide a quicker response to the first responder. They only have video access if there is an alarming activity to view the area and determine if it is a false or actual emergency.
The other company uses cellular to communicate with the base station. SimpliSafe uses my home internet and has cellular backup, so there will be no security interruption. The best part about SimpliSafe is that there is no contract commitment, and I can cancel and restart my monitoring service anytime. They have three types of service with different prices. (1) Interactive monitoring plus video evidence to verify the alarm. (2) Standard provides monitoring but does not verify if an alarm is real. (3) Self Monitoring with Camera Recording, notifying users of the system alerts, plus 30-days of video footage for all your cameras. This security system package includes everything to replace my older system except for the smoke detector (sold separately). Additional devices and sensors: like smoke, CO, smart lock, water sensor, temperature, extra loud siren, and video doorbell, which are all sold separately and may be added to the system and controlled by the SimpliSafe app/control panel. For my system, I will purchase two smoke detectors, two water sensors to protect against flood damage and an additional siren.
This system is 100% DIY, and the installation is easy. All devices come with sticky pads that are strong enough for easy placement. If desired, there is the option to use screws (included) on the brackets to attach the sensors. All sensors are easy to move around if needed. Using the SimpliSafe app, connect first the base station to your home Wi-Fi. All devices, sensors, and the app are well-designed and work together. Overall, I am satisfied with SimpliSafe. It has plenty of features and a wide range of options for personal customization, giving you the best possible control over how you want your system to protect you. It works reliably to provide peace of mind against fire, flood, and home intrusions.
Their monthly professional monitoring service is worth it. You get both Wi-Fi connectivity with cellular backup, and most importantly, it dramatically reduces false alarms to almost zero using video verification. If you move to another house, you can take your system and reprogram it in your new location without incurring professional installation expenses or buying a new system. There is a wide range of sensors to customize your system to your specific need. SimpliSafe is the best DIY system with a professional monitoring service. The monitor service may also get you a discount on your home insurance.

I really have liked the simplicity of the SimpleSafe Home Security System. This 17 piece system seems perfectly adequate to help ensure I have monitoring for my residence. There are plenty of individual pieces here that give me home security for inside and outside home monitoring.
With a complete kit like this I'm getting 17 pieces of technology that belong to me. I'm not renting them from a paid service that is charging me a monthly contract fee. This helps to give me peace of mind that I'm the owner of this and can set this up at my own leisure. I really like the app based guidance in setting this whole house security. The app is easy to use and the whole process is fairly straightforward. It takes some time to get the items unboxed and placed where you want them, but that's just a one time thing. I like that I can opt for the optional 24/7 professional monitoring if I choose to, but I'm not required to have it.
Full setup of materials includes the base station, keypad, 8 door sensors, 2 motion detection sensors, 1 panic button, 1 glass break sensor, 1 keyfob (great to keep in the car), 1 indoor camera, 1 outdoor camera, and yard signage.
Everything runs via WiFi, so it's helpful to have a strong WiFi connection through you house to ensure the cameras have connectivity. Add more sensors or motion detectors as you feel you need. Overall I think all the items included in this kit are sufficient for most. I have a better idea of what is happening indoors and outdoors of my home with this new Simplisafe kit setup in my home. The ability to give my family some peace of mind when we are home and when we are away is helpful. I have had a different national brand of self home security in the past, but I'm liking this new Simplisafe unit much more. It's convenient, and simple to use for adults and kids in my home.

The SimpliSafe system is probably the easiest system I’ve set up. The app works flawlessly with setup, and everything is fairly simple to understand. It’s incredibly easy to set up all the sensors, the camera, and other pieces, but I do have some concerns.
First, the outdoor security camera seems to be incredibly sensitive. I set up the camera, and even though it’s set to only detect people, it was constantly detecting a blowing flag at my house. I turned the sensitivity down to medium, and even blocked out the whole quadrant where the flag was blowing, and the camera was still sending me constant notifications of movement. Finally, I turned the sensitivity all the way down, but now the camera sometimes misses people.
I also have issues with the indoor camera not switching out of night sight mode. My living room is dim, but I’ve never had a camera sit in perpetual night sight mode in my den. The shutter also makes a loud click when it’s activated, and I haven’t been able to turn it off.
Also, the cameras are only motion activated, there is no way to set them up for 24/7 recording, which to me is far superior. The software forces you to watch short clips of movement, so you can’t really go back through your feed to solve mysteries, that aren’t set off by motion detection (ex. What time did the mail truck drive by)
The functionality of the equipment really relies on a subscription. You can’t store any clips without a subscription, and your app functionality is also limited. For example, you cannot receive secret push notifications if your sensors are triggered.
I think for the right person the software is a home run, but for me, I really want something that allows me to record 24/7 on my cameras, and an app with improved motion detection. The app doesn’t even alert me if it’s a person or object that is detected, even though it claims to have person only detection.
I’m going to keep using the equipment once my trial runs out, but in its most basic format, which means just using sensors to alert me when my kid opens his bedroom window, when a person is coming through the door, etc.

The SimpliSafe home security system comes well packaged, with all the boxes labeled for what they are. The set up has to be done with the phone app, which was an easy step-by-step process, but the first glitch I came upon was the app update. It just kept spinning and spinning. After about 2 hours, and logging back into the software a couple of times, I was able to continue the setup of each component. The system comes with an indoor camera, outdoor camera, panic button, door and window sensors, a motion sensor and a glass breakage sensor, as well as a keypad and the base.
The indoor camera, door sensors and the glass break sensor were very easy to install using the keypad, which told you exactly what to do. It does take quite a bit of time installing all of the components. Two of the door sensors did not stay up, even though I used alcohol to clean the space before mounting. I ended up having to screw them to the door, which was difficult since they are so close to the edge of the door.
When it came to installing the outdoor camera, the process of adding the camera was easy, however trying to watch a live view on the camera is hit or miss. Sometimes there is a black screen and no live view. Sometimes I get an error that says "real time information is temporarily unavailable". While a live view is nice, it would be better to see recorded videos without having to subscribe to a monthly service. The camera quality is excellent. There is a notification that says "camera motion detected", but it's not linked to the recorded video. I accidentally triggered the back door alarm and was surprised that the volume wasn't louder. Some of the glitches may have to do with my poor internet, but some seem to be app related. Overall, I would recommend this system - probably works extremely well in a more urban setting.

Can't go wrong with this DYI alarm. Super easy to install took about 1hr. Camera quality is very good. The base siren is very loud, you will here it going a in a 3 floor home.

Overal easy fo install. The only thing is thing is that there is no motion sensor alert warning. The base can be hard to hear depending on where it’s placed. I gave it four stars over all because of the great customer service.

Bought this system to add security for the home and it was very easy to setup and get running. It also has one of the more inexpensive monthly subscriptions of any of the other security systems out there. Performance has been pretty good and i have not had any issues. So far i have been happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive security system.

The system is pretty easy to set up and install. The app works well, and it’s a very intuitive system. It’s been 2 weeks since I installed it, but so far I am pleased with how well it is working. I plan to add a few things to it, but for now it’s more than sufficient.

Easy to set up, overall the user interface is super simple to use.
The outdoor camera will NOT work unless you put it on a 2.4 wpa2 wifi connection. Just make sure to separate your wifi bands and lower your security on the 2.4 Ghz band.

Ive had Simplisafe for 3+ years. I can tell you it regularly has bad latency, even on an enterprise class network. The worst is the doorbell - REALLY bad latency and dead before 2 years. Trying to view WiFi cameras from the app is also SEVERELY delayed - even when feet from the WiFi AP. Serious improvement needed.
Im stuck with the investment, but if you're looking for something with home monitoring and response, for the money simplisafe charges, you might be better finding something else.
