PC is super-fast. However, within 2 or 3 weeks from purchase it began to spontaneously shut down, sometimes more than once per day. To turn it back on, I had to unplug the power supply, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. My research showed this to be a common problem with this model. HP ended up repairing it, but it was a huge hassle.

If you get one despite the many bad reviews, be sure you change the sleep settings so that it stays -- at least for a week to burn it in and make sure you got a good on.

    Five stars if on Sale

I rated this product based off of the retail price however, I purchased this PC on sale for 499.99, and I purchased it for a friend's parent who has recently retired and wanted a PC that would last them a while. He is mostly be utilizing Microsoft Office and web browsing. With the i7 processor and 8GB of Ram, this machine will that and last a long time. To prolong its life this machine sits in an open area with zero airflow obstruction. This is a small form factor machine so it will produce a lot of heat just like a laptop, but the heat produced will be in conjunction with what you are making the PC do. If you plan on running Adobe Creative Cloud or any system taxing program I would recommend swapping the hard drive to an SSD (less heat production) add 8GB of memory and not storing the tower in an enclosed space or just purchase a regular sized tower. Overall I expect this PC to last around 5 years or more with proper care and maintenance. THIS IS NOT A GAMING PC!

    Beware of Bad Power Supplies!

First off, I love the computer. It fits the space I need it to, it is very fast and affordable. I dropped in a SSD drive, and 8 more GB of memory. This computer looks great on my UHD TV via HDMI. Now the bad: The computer started randomly losing power and shutting off since it came out of the box. I have seen other reviews here that say the same. The issue is a batch of bad power supplies. I ordered a power supply from HP Parts, and replaced it. Not a single issue since. I get no heating as others have reported, and Specky is averaging the temp at a cool 86 degrees. This is a great computer for almost any need, but I have to give it three stars since I had to repair it as soon as I got it. If you get a bad power supply, make HP fix it. I did my own because I didn't want the hassle of a RMA and shipping.

    Great PC on sale

I wouldn't recommended it unless on sale ($500 is what I paid) but for the price it's a great little machine. Having used only SSD machines for years I was disappointed by the standard hard-drive and swapped it out for a new M.2 SSD over the weekend. Now this computer flies! No issues with web browsing, multi-talking, playing music or the occasional game. I plan on doubling the ram eventually and adding a dedicated graphics card as prices come down. Well worth it at $500, but there are better buys for $800.

My husband bought me this computer for Christmas. From day one it had problems. It would shut off randomly and not restart. In order to restart it, I had to unplug the power supply, wait and then replug the power supply in and then turn on the computer! I took it back to Best Buy. they are now issuing me a credit even though I asked for another one. I thought maybe just this one might be a lemon but I guess all of them are as they are not replacing it. Don't buy if you see it online or in a store at another place!

    Worse Desktop

The computer randomly shutting down and won't turn on until you completely unplug the cord from the PC and wall outlet. Then you have to wait a couple seconds to plug back in and press the on button to reboot. Just sent it back to HP repair center for the SECOND TIME.. Very frustrating because it should have been fixed the first time. They even replaced the mother board and updated the BIOS and still having the same issues of randomly shutting down. Would rather have a refund. Several people have the same complaints and I would steer away from buying this PC.

I wonder why no other reviewers mention this........ Taken in consideration of the daily user, this PC heat will destroy its nice looking. Due to its size, if you are looking to do multitasks, beaware of the heat. Unless you plan to intergrate thisbinto a bigger tower, or stay near where the AC/fan would be, heat can build up fast If you plan to use this PC for a short time, it s decently built
