Did what it needed to
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a dryer vent that got my dryer closer to the wall since my laundry room is such a tight space coming off the garage. Because of this vent, we were able to the dryer in 7-8 inches from where it previously sat. We did not end up trimming it at this point, the full size fit just fine by shifting our washer more to the right.

Helps fit in tight spaces.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great. Was not a lot of space for the dryer, so this was necessary for it to fit in the space.

Perfect for what I needed...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really only needed to move my dryer over 2 inches and keep it as close to the wall as possible. Also needed the front of the dryer to line up with the washer, which was 3 inches to far out. This was perfect. No leaks, either. Would highly recommend.

Here is the real information for this vent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Allow me to clear some misconceptions. When this item says 0-18, it's a bit of a poor description. It's 18" from center hole to center hole out of the box (overall length 24.5"). It's not expandable to 18" by pulling on the ends. If you want it less than 18", you MUST cut it. And, of course, it couldn't be less than about 5" in length just due to the connections. (A 0-5" periscope vent already exists, so 5-18 is a better description for this one). It says 2.5" profile (depth), supposedly allowing the dryer to sit back about an inch to 1.5 inches closer than the standard semi-rigid venting. I suppose that is dependent on your wall vent. If the wall vent does not allow the periscope vent to sit flat against the wall, any advantage is lost (see photo after Geek Squad installed the periscope vent). I had 3 Geek Squad installers for the new washer and dryer (separate trips for various reasons) and none of them recommended the periscope vent kit. They said they leak air, requiring a lot of foil tape, and don't really save you any room. In my case, that proved to be correct. I needed the space savings to close my closet doors, and in the end, the installers used foil flexible duct. The periscope vent may work in an ideal situation, but considering you may have to cut it and then tape it all over, it doesn't seem worth it...at least to me.

Best dryer vent ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As long as you have a set of tin snips to trim this down, and have some aluminum tape to seal it off after cutting it to the right length, this is by far the best dryer vent hookup ever. Our old dryer was a miniscule 4 cu. ft. inside, but stuck out much father than our new 7.3 cu. ft. dryer because of the exhaust vent being so bulky. This also allows for smoother airflow, as tested at the exterior vent end.

Good solution for limited space.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched telescoping vents for my new laundry room. This product was one of the highest rated and economical. It was easy to install and has reduced the space I needed between the wall and my dryer. I would recommend this solution as a replacement for traditional dryer vent piping.

Good use for small spaces
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a small laundry room in my apartment and needed the Periscope Dryer Vent so I could get my dryer closer to the wall. It worked pretty well. Originally I had used the regular dryer vent hookup and it was very bunched up behind my dryer which worried me as a fire could have been started. The Periscope Dryer Vent worked quite nicely for the space.

Useful When Every Inch Counts
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This saves about 1.5 inches in depth when compared to an average 4-inch vent pipe. We needed it because our dryer is in a closet and we wouldn't be able to close the closet door with a regular pipe. Installation was not difficult. Just shift the pieces into the length needed and cut the excess. Make sure to tape all the seams with aluminum foil tape (available at most home improvement stores).

Works but thin gauge metal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1. The product was adaptable to tight spaces, but had to be trimmed with shears. Flexible product both for distance and angle adjustment--just light weight metal that can flex. 2. The sealed shipping box picked up in "store" should have included adjustable vent clamps; they were NOT in the box. Should have remembered moral: insist on opening and inspecting.

Great tool for venting out of small spaces
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing works, and it's amazing. I bought a washtower and knew it was going into a tight space, but with a periscope, I could make the dryer vent situation work. Well, it was delivered and Best Buy's installation team said it was impossible, asked if I wanted to keep the machine, didn't understand what I wanted to do with a periscope. (Actually had 3 delivery & installation attempts and I finally told them to drop it and leave.) Then a friend came and helped me install this. It worked in a space where my gap between the washtower and wall (where the vent outward was located) was 2.75 inches. Seriously, this periscope is a great solution for small spaces.

Works under right circumstances
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did not end up using this item, but it seemed to function as advertised. UL-grade foil tape is definitely needed to prevent leakage at all joining points, as is standard for any ductwork. Use gloves--edges are sharp!

Got the Job Done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was what I was looking for. The only complaint is the way you have to re-size it by cutting it, it can leave some sharp edges. You also have to be careful to allow yourself some slack after the cut for the proper fitting. Otherwise it was what I needed.

Nice try
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In this day of huge washers/dryers and tiny utility rooms, this is currently the only sort-of solution. After having to crush the exhaust hose in order to get the garage door to open past our new shortest depth made dryer, BB delivery tech had us order this periscope style exhaust hose. It looked like it would work but in all reality, where it mounts to the wall attachment, no space was saved and he ended up going back to a mashed and twisted vent hose and lots of tape. I try to not ever look at it. He did the best he could with what he had. I really felt sorry for the guy. Get a clue utility makers, not all utility rooms are the size of a high school gym.

great solution
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for some reason the dryer vent was installed on the side wall of the dryer location. This made it possible to hook up the dryer vent, and not haveing to pay to have the machine altered
