First of all, I would like to say that none of my complaints about the W/D I purchased have anything to do with Best Buy. They did their very best to make me happy with my purchase, even to the extent of exchanging the first ones I purchased for the Samsung I have now. My only complaints about the Samsung washer and dryer I purchased are common to all the w/d available on the market today. I would have liked to have one with an Air Fluff setting on the dryer, but my budget wouldn't allow another $100. After using the one I purchased, I realized the Wrinkle Release setting at the end of the cycle could be reset to continue. I always used the Air Fluff on my previous dryer at the end of any cycle with clothing to give me a chance to hang my clothes on hangers to prevent wrinkles. The Wrinkle Release setting does continue with some heat which I would prefer not to have. As for the washer, I don't like the Locked setting on the wash and rinse cycles, but I can use the Pause setting to open the top, briefly. The wash settings are not true to their label. I do wish there was a Tepid water setting or a way to adjust the H/C water to a Tepid setting. That is the setting I used most for all my clothes on my W/D that I left in my house. The Hot setting on my Samsung is definitely Hot and the Cold is absolutely Cold; however, the Warm is too hot for most clothes (except for heavily soiled work clothes) and the Eco-warm is not Warm at all, it's Cold. It does seem reasonable to expect that the settings would provide the temperature water on the label, instead of something totally different. I have never felt clothes or anything else comes as clean in cold water as they do in tepid water. My last Washer and Dryer were made by Kitchen Aid and were the best appliances I've ever own in the 53 yrs. I've owned W/D. I intensely dislike the fact that the PC police have to dictate the way we wash and dry our clothes. It's my fault for selling those appliances when I sold my house. I could have brought them with me to my apartment but this complex provided W/D and I thought they would be adequate for my needs. They weren't; consequently I purchased my own. I don't mind so much that they (the PC police) dictate how much water we use in the washer, but I'm not sure in all cases it is enough to clean adequately. I do appreciate all the assistance Best Buy and Geek Squad gave me in this purchase process. It was a pleasure to deal with them and I appreciated very much all the assistance they gave me with the purchase and delivery of my W/D. I would definitely purchase items from Best Buy again! Their customer satisfaction was superior!

    Required and Inadequate

While there was nothing inherently wrong with the dryer vent kit which was a required purchase from Best Buy, the first installers (Geek Squad), who couldn't do install until ten (10) days after purchase, advised that we needed a new electric outlet AND that the vent kit (again required purchase) may not fit. After replacing the electric outlet and assuring the adequacy of the outside venting for hose attachment, the second installers (again 2 Geek Squad) came a week later and quickly said they couldn't hook up vent kit because it was too short and elbows wouldn't fit in tight space at outside outlet. They advised us to shop on line for longer hose vent kit in same brand as required Best Buy purchase, or another if necessary. Raised questions about honoring warranty with such changes, and also additional time and expense on my part. At this point I called the store appliance rep from whom we'd made the washer/dryer purchase. He responded quickly and efficiently by setting up an appointment late the same day with an independent appliance service contractor at Best Buy expense to do the installation. Interestingly he merely connected aluminum vent hose directly to the outside vent with ring clamp and aluminum heat tape, used the elbow connection for the dryer itself, and connected a new length of aluminum vent hose to the one provided with foil heat tape. The entire process took about 30 minutes. Best Buy needs to seriously evaluate their methodology for installations.

I purchased a new LG washer and dryer a couple months ago and had it installed by the Geek Squad. The washer was malfunctioning on the first wash and had to be replaced. When the washer was replaced, something happened to the dryer and it had to be replaced. The original washer I purchased had been discontinued, so I had to get another version that does not match the washer. Also, they wanted me to pay the difference for the "upgraded" dryer. After complaining on why this was not acceptable, they conceded to eat the cost. When they came on yet another day to replace the dryer, they did not hook up the dryer to the waterline for the steam function to work. They returned yesterday for a fourth time to fix this issue. When they left, I had a minor meltdown because the washer didn't work. Luckily, it was just that they had not turned the waterlines back on. This has been the most frustrating purchase ever. I was out multiple days of work and so much time. All of my experiences talking to people about this problem were flippant at best. I will not be using Best Buy, Geek Squad, or any LG product in the future.

The vent looked good, but the Best Buy installer crushed the tube during installation and didn't tell me. He also failed to turn the gas valve back on. In order to use the dryer I had to pull out the washer and reach behind the dryer to turn the gas valve on. While doing this I noticed the vent had been half way caved in during the installation. I called the Geek Squad since I have a service contract, but they refused to send someone to fix it. Instead they tried twice to transfer me to the warehouse that they said should handle the repair. I was transferred into oblivion the first time, and the second time I was assured the Geek Squad would stay on the phone line until I was put thru to the warehouse. Thirty minutes later I was still listening to the message about how great Best Buy is, NOT! It still needs repair. I'm just curious to see if anyone actually reads any of these reviews at a Best Buy and will take action. I doubt it.

When my Ex and I built houses, we always included a vent inside the house. This was simply good customer service for the new homeowner. However, that would be a liability now. Most of us are replacing dryers and already have vents installed. However, this is not now a good thing. In order for Best Buy to install the dryer, this vent must be purchased. It is a governmental law that Best Buy simply follows. They do have that it is a required purchase in their heading on this product. I am writing this review only to alert people that this is not merely a suggestion. You HAVE to buy this from Best Buy or you WILL NOT get your dryer installed. It is sad (IMHO) that perfectly good vents are not able to be re-used. Everything is fine with the vent. Installation went smoothly, and I have no issues with the operation. I rated this as poor because it is a governmental law and a poor rating will stand out more than a four or five star rating. I simply want to let people know of this additional purchase that is mandatory for installation.

It works as supposed to.Its behind the dryer so you dont see it . The only problem I had with it was I purchased the kit with my order for washer, dryer, pedestals, and all connections needed for installation. When the installer who also delivered the stuff told me best buy forgot to give him the vent kit, but if I wanted to purchase one he had in the truck it would be an additional 61.00 as per his boss but best buy would reimburse me cause it was their mistake.I went to the store and was told I didnt pay the extra to best buy store so I should call 1 888 besr buy. I called them and explained and they said they cant help me cause I didnt pay them so they spoke to the installer and he was going to call me right away to make it right. That was last week and havent heard yet.I think best buy is respondsible being I paid best buy 139.99 for the install not the guy they sent so they should take care of working it out with the installer they sent and they should reimburse me. That was the only issue with vent kit but it really bothers me when I spent over 2000.00 for the order and waited over a month and one other botched delivery on the original delivery date.

My dryer is in an upstairs laundry closet that was just built so it is designed for modern appliances. Upon ordering my dryer the salesperson informed me I must order this vent for the install. On installation day, the installer stated the dryer would have to sit 18inch from the wall to use this vent (obviously not allowing the appliance to fit in the closet). He suggested I buy a flexible vent and have them come back to reinstall it - but that great part is that Best Buy doesn't sell a flexible vent. The installer ended up improvising and getting the dryer to fit but it's clear there is an issue somewhere if Best Buy installers are recommending something Best Buy doesn't sell. I would highly suggest Best Buy invest in more installation options and have those options on the truck so installation personnel can troubleshoot installs and prevent multiple visits. I would have had no problem paying for additional materials to get the install right the first time.

Very disappointed with Delivery team and customer service for Best Buy Deliveries. Sales associates were awesome but when it came time to receiving our Front Loaders, the delivery team were not professional and they refused to set up the Washer and Dryer so the doors would not open into each other. Also they put our old dryer vent on our new Front Loader Dryer! We still have not received an explanation for why they didn't install it and have made many phone calls to get it installed. We had it set up twice and no one called the day before for a time schedule. Best Buy should have better customer service. Our washer manual was washed by the delivery team because they did not know it was inside the washer when they did a test run. We never received our drying rack, one pedestal came with a big dent in the side, and they never installed the new drying vent kit which we paid for! I am a elite member however this customer service has been horrible!!

In theory this kit should have everything you need to hook up the dryer exhaust to your exterior vent but I still had to make a run to the local hardware store to ensure i had a good connection. It did not easily connect to the exterior vent line that was cut flush with the wall. even with a slight opening around the vent i could not get the two to connect and had to buy an extra piece of ducting to get a good connection. Also requires that you cut slits in the connection which was not hard but made for a more complicated install. No wonder the Best Buy delivery guys told my wife they couldn't do it and just left it sitting on the dryer. They knew they could get away with not using this kit that is a pain to use.

I pay over $2,000 for a new front loader set and get all the "attachments" necessary. Then they install it and tell me I am better off using my old dryer vent because this one doesn't bend and "accordian" like my original which will make it stick out farther from the wall. So my dryer vent that is years and years old is better than the one they suggest to provide with the brand new dryer. UNREAL! i had to put my arm all the way down the old dryer vent and hand pull out all the years old lint. Either that or have my new dryer stick out much farther from the wall than my old one. And we are talking about a dryer vent, not some technologically advanced part. Now I have a years old used vent for my brand new dryer. The logic behind this is just mind-boggling.

Bought a Samsung gas dryer over the phone. Was required to buy two extra items for installation. Was informed installation was free. Dryer arrived as scheduled. No installers arrived. Called and was told Best Buy could not install in Massachusetts (later told by a Best Buy rep that they can install in MA and contract with third parties) and we had to get our own installer. Our installer said the unit was not new and we had been given a refurbished unit. We had noticed there was no paperwork with the unit and it was not unloaded in a box when it arrived. Also, there was a basket inside the drum that did not belong to the unit. We have called Best Buy repeated times and each time told someone would contact us. A person named Shannon did...took our information again and said she would clear it up right away and call back. That was weeks ago and still no response.

I bought this to be used with my new dryer and it was installed by Best Buy. My dryer vents directly up to the ceiling on the second floor to a solid pipe leading to the roof vent. The connection to the back of the dryer requires a sharp bend upward from the back toward the ceiling. This kit did not have an elbow so, when a sock was dropped alongside the dryer, requiring it to be moved to retrieve it, the vent hose broke at the sharp bend near the rear outlet of the dryer. I had to go to Menards to buy a vent kit that included an elbow and replace it. $30 down the tube! The vent kit I bought (with the elbow) was much less and still was made of the rigid metal, instead of the flimsy accordion plastic ones that just end up getting filled with lint. I would recommend buying your own vent kit (with elbow if needed) and save yourself some time and money.

I should have bought a plastic one. The pros are that this is made of metal. You won't have to worry about punctures and it will last longer when disconnected and reconnected. The cons are that this is more expensive than a plastic one and very hard to connect in a tight space. The coil is metal and therefore stiff. When it is connected to the dryer or wall, no matter how tight or loose you have it, it can pop off when moving the dryer into position. If you had a couple feet to work with this would be fine. But a lot of people have their washer/dryer in a limited space, like a laundry room. It sticks out a little farther thatn I would like. I can't fix this with out crushing the metal an/or causing the tubing to come loose. If you have your dryer in your garage, for example, you have plenty of space and would be better off having a more reliable hose like this one. Otherwise just guest a plastic one.

    Good Dryer Vent Kit

I purchased this vent kit to accompany a new dryer machine that I purchased from Best Buy. It was easy to hook up and it works exactly as it needs to. The vent extends and contracts to the size that you need and comes with a few accessories that you may need for installation, as shown on the Best Buy stock pictures. The only issue is it's difficult to clean these after all the lint it collects over the course of time, so you may have to replace these every few years - or try cleaning them once a year to maintain them clean, because they collect a lot of lint on the inside. Could use some improvement, but it's not a bad product over all. Recommended.

Dryer vents are nearly always problematic. This vent kit works, but it's easity damaged if you have to move the dryer and reinstall the vent hose. it's a tinfoil affair which doesn't return to round once you squash it trying to fit it to the vent or dryer. Also, it easily tears or breaks if you stress it much. If it is installed correctly, and you manage not to smash it or tear it during installation, then it works pretty well -- but those are big "IFs" for most dryer installations where you seldom have any room to work and can hardly reach the vent or dryer exhaust to attach the hose and clamps.

I would not have purchased it if I had not had to buy it for my purchase delivery fee to be free and the protection plan would not be valid and the plan would not cover my machine for any problems. That is not fair. I had perfectly good venting. If it did not affect my protection plan I wouldn't have had to purchase it. Now the product. The reviews I read afterward said it helps reduce the drying time for my LG dryer. That's great but the vent length was too short to make it to my outside vent! So the Best Buy delivery set up person adapted it to half of my current vent. Now, I'm not sure it measures up to the reviews as it is a half and half system. Best Buy delivery person assured me my protection plan was valid and there would not be any problems if I had to place a claim in the future. They better.

I know this was a required item for our dryer installation, but still, it was an item I was glad to purchase. Our dryer vent actually ended up being on the side wall instead of directly behind the dryer spot. Which unfortunately means the vent has to come out of the dryer and curve right, making an “L” shape. Even with this weird apartment design flaw, this vent was able to make that curve and still stay in both the dryer and the outside vent holes. It was long enough to pretty much wrap around the back and side of our dryer to get to the vent hole outside.

The horrible service saga continues. The dryer vent was not connected - my laundry room is hot and humid, so we are unable to do laundry until Best Buy addresses their failure to properly connect the dryer vent. Neither my daughter nor I can move the unit. We didn't notice the problem initially due to unseasonably cold weather in January. I called geek squad and emailed BB on Saturday - four days later no reply. $1700 for our washer, dryer and hookups - inexcusable. First we waited one and a half months to switch the dryer door opening to the correct side, now the dryer just blows wet - hot air into our second floor mucking up the bedrooms.

I purchased this vent kit as I really wanted to 90 degree elbows to prevent any crimping of the vent work. Great concept on this as the elbows allow the dryer to be moved a little - they swivel. Like I said - Great Concept, but this Frigidaire vent does not fit my LG Dryer. The size is correct - 4" wide, but after the install was completed, it fell off the dryer end the first time I opened the dryer door. When I heard it hit the floor, I moved the dryer slightly to look behind, and it fell off the vent end. Thinking the installer forgot something, I worked with this for hours and just could not get it to stay attached - yes, I used the clamps. I finally ended up re-attaching my old one (about 10 minutes) which was perfectly good and unfortunately I had to return this vent.

We installed the stacked W/D units in a 36" wide by 38" deep nook. Also, we cannot vent the dryer outside because we are in a condo building where the unit vents are not located near the nook and the COA rules forbid venting dryers to them. In this tight space the rigidity and short length of the vent tube makes it difficult to reach the lint filter for cleaning and replacing the water. Recommend the cheaper aluminum coil vent in this situation. I can only say "yes" or "no" regarding recommending this product. I say "yes" but with conditions.
