Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard helms this entry into the Star Wars catalog, with a hugely talented cast comprised of veteran actors and some of the most talented young actors of today! Han Solo’s backstory delivers action, wit and beauty with its consistently stunning visuals and story-telling. No Star Wars fan can miss this awesome film.

I would consider myself a pretty decent Star Wars enthusiast; so that being said I had no idea what to expect from Disney’s take on a Han Solo origin story. Would Disney stay true to Han’s character and back story? Or would they tamper with the Han we have all came to love over the years? So surprisingly enough when Disney fired Phil Lord and Chris Miller the original directors and replaced them with director Ron Howard I figured this would be the beginning of the end for Solo’s legacy. Ironically enough Howard was still able to create something from the mess that the prior directors left him with. Solo ended up becoming a unique story centered on Han’s shenanigans prior to joining the Rebel Alliance. Since Disney took over the Star Wars franchise I feel their take on the Star Wars universe has been hit or miss. The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi both felt like a bust, however I thoroughly enjoyed Rogue One. Solo has now joined Rogue One in becoming one my favorite Star Wars films. So if you find yourself needing a Star Wars pick me up, just ask yourself one question . . . got Solo?

I liked the movie and I’m a huge Star Wars fan but I just wish these movies came with the slipcase :(

A good movie with beautiful imagery. Great acting by Childish Gambino. Overall, a decent movie for star wars fans.

Even though this movie did not do that well in the box office, i still consider it an extremely enjoyable film to watch alone, with family or with friends. It has that Star Wars feel to it that we all know and love and it tells part of the backstory to a character who is known in every household across the US. It mixes a little bit of humor in with a whole lot of action and will keep you enticed throughout the whole thing. This Collector's Edition itself was definitely worth the extra money, as it comes with a 4K HDR version, a regular version and a DVD packed with special features and extra content. Not to mention it comes in a stylish metal case with the famed Kessel Run Millenium Falcon on one side and an artsy picture with some of the key characters on the other side. If you have a 4K tv, with and HDR Blu-ray player, you're going to want to pick this up! Watch it over and over again, and when you're not watching it, proudly display your image of the Millennium Falcon on a shelf.

It was a well thought movie almost like a undercover love story

After a disappointing story and character arcs in The Last Jedi, I was pleased with Solo. A gorgeous movie that delivered on some key nostalgia with Han and Chewie’s burgeoning friendship, the Millenium Falcon and young Lando Calrissian. It was a fun ride with a nice twist at the end that rewarded fans of the prequel trilogy and Clone Wars animated series.

This Movie is a Must Own for All Star Wars Fans because the Steelbook it’s Excusive and Well Designed and the Movie looks Crisp In 4K and HDR and Dolby Vision it’s Outstanding

The Solo steelbook is nicely done and another great addition with my other Star Wars steelbooks. The movie itself is awesome, enjoyed the story on how Han became, well, Han lol. Looking forward to more Star Wars movies!

Nice, if you like to repeat the Star Wars movies and at the same time make a collection of the movies

Kind of a bit steep on price. Though steelbook is beautiful. Arrived sooner than expected. A must have for anyone with a Star Wars movie collection.

Great movie, lots of fun! There are a number of Solo haters out there, but those I've encountered are those who have read all the books and spout off about the "canon" of Star Wars narrative. Who cares, really? This is designed to be a stand-alone movie that fills in a few of the historical gaps. There are explanations for Solo's homeworld, his first encounters with Chewie and Lando, and the same with the Millenium Falcon. The Kessel Run that establishes Han's rep as a pilot is here, too. Really like the casting for the lead. Love interest from Game of Thrones, meh. Love the casting of Woody Harrelson as a scruffy "mentor" for Han. Anyhow, with this pre-quel stand-alone is very enjoyable, just like Rogue One. (Which has some WTHeck moments, too, but you just go with it)

This was a decent enough movie - I’m 30 and grew up with the special edition Star Wars movies in theaters in the 90s, so it’s nice to be able to dip back into that universe on the big screen. A lot of folks said there was too much comic relief to which I’d respond that it’s a movie that is supposed to appeal to kids and adults. Some people raised issues about a fictional pan sexual robot in a Star Wars movie and I’d have to tell those people to just get over it...it’s a movie! Aesthetically the steel book is a nice touch and it matches the rest of my Star Wars collection - so unless you’re indifferent about your movie shelf or already have the other steel books, you could probably save money and just buy the regular edition.

Let’s be clear here this is not one of the epic Star Wars pictures. It is an interesting and engaging film that provides a good back story of a primary figure from the series. I have been a Star Wars fan since I saw the original Star Wars back during its first release in theatres. This film compliments the originals quite nicely by fleshing out things such as how Chewbacca came to be with Han Solo. It adds depth to an epic story that could only touch briefly on Han’s life prior to his meeting with the Star Wars story. I would recommend this film to any fan of the series. If you are a hard core fan be prepared to be a little forgiving and let some things slide and I think you will enjoy the show.

My husband and I were excited about this one since we both think that Han Solo was the "cool" guy in the original group. It was awesome to see his first story where we meet Chewy and Lando for the first time too. It was awesome to see some of the situations that Solo found himself in and showed that he is a more complex character than we first thought. I know a lot of people like to complain, but if you take this movie for what it is (a good backstory for Han and shows how he fits in the whole scheme of things entering the original trilogy) then you will see that it's an enjoyable movie that takes you on an adventure with an interesting character that you've always wanted to know more about.

Don't let negative reviews or people who're bothered by the direction of Disney's Star Wars movies keep you from checking out Solo. Star Wars is allowed to be (and in fact started out as) fun, high-adventure storytelling, and doesn't have to have galaxy-shaking stakes at work in order to be enjoyable. Alden Eihenreich completely gets the swagger and soul of Han Solo without resorting to a bad Harrison Ford impression, Joonas Suotamo is the Chewbacca we deserve, since original actor Peter Mayhew is unable to continue in the role, and is given the chance to really develop Chewie as a character. The supporting players are all perfectly cast, and as expected, Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge steal every scene they're in as Lando and L337.

Solo was a movie the whole family could enjoy watching together and get a glimpse of where Hans Solo came from.

I still don't understand why this didn't do well when it came out in theaters. It's easily better than the other SW spinoff so far, Rogue One. If you can get past someone other than Harrison Ford playing Han Solo, then you're in for a really fun ride of a film. It never really drags and all the extended cast (especially Woody Harrelson and Donald Glover) really work well together. A highlight is seeing the beginning and blossoming of Han and Chewie's friendship. The argument has been made that "no one asked for or needed a Han Solo origin film" and, while that's true, I challenge any real SW fan to try not to smile when Chewie and Han finally take their familiar places at the helm of the Falcon and blast off together.

I collect all Star Wars movies and books as I am a huge Star Wars fan. I was waiting for my family to purchase Star Wars Solo for me for Christmas. However, I never received it as a gift. I was at Best Buy recently and realized that I did not own it so I immediately purchased it and watched it that night. Solo is a decent movie. I thought it was entertaining and the plot was good. I have not watched the bonus material yet as I plan to do that over the next few weeks. I bought the Blu-ray and the picture is great. I would definitely recommend this movie if you are a Star Wars fan or new to it.
