    Great Entry for Sonic Fans

After playing through the first several levels on my Xbox One X, I was satisfied with how this new Sonic game handled itself. I enjoyed the idea of creating my own anthropomorphic Avatar, playing as classic and current Sonic, and jamming to the fantastic musical score that really draws you into the world of Sonic the Hedgehog--great elements. Not everything is perfect: levels tend to run on the short side; limited customization options of your OC, wild camera angles (sometimes resulting in death until you actually learn a level), inexplicable screen tear during certain cut-scenes, and no option to play as the other classic Sonic characters from previous games. Despite all of this, there seemed to be a fair amount of replay value to earn higher scores, unlock more gear (weapons and aesthetics) for your furry creation, and some downloadable content in the form of playing as Shadow the Hedgehog to delve more into the backstory. It's overall a pretty fun, colorful, and intriguing Sonic addition to the franchise. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed with it's simple pick-up-and-play mechanics once you get past a little learning curve to successfully navigate some of the more challenging levels while learning the new controls for your own creation.
