Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the sound quality of the 260W 9.2-Ch. Network-Ready 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver, praising its clarity, warmth, and powerful performance. However, some customers note the absence of built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities as a drawback. The receiver's robust build quality is also frequently highlighted as a positive aspect. Despite the lack of certain wireless features, many find the overall audio and video performance to be excellent.

No reason to spend more than this receiver. Having previously had a garbage arcam that broke after 3 years (I don't care what arcam fixed now, theres NO excuse for a $4,000 receiver to break and so many people have problems. So its not just an isolated incident) Having the same exact setup, this Sony blows its socks off. With Sony's 5 year warranty shows they have supreme confidence in this receivers build quality. If its in your budget look no further and pick this thing up. You won't be disappointed. The recent $600 price cut definitely makes this a no brainer!

awesome sound quality just couldn't give it 5 stars because it lacked WI-FI & BLUETOOTH if i recall also no APP support just unforgivable for a newer receiver unless your a real audiophile and dont need those features

Before this I was using they best entry level Sony 1080 receiver. With more movies now including atmos and dts x audio tracks , it was time to upgrade to a receiver that could support 7.4.1. Very easy to use and set up unlike the pioneer elite 901. It will require use of an external amp to power the rear height effects, but the on screen set up guides you through the proper hook up. The 4 k pass through is improved over the 1080. Prior to, I was sending video directly to the TV set and using the secondary hdmi out on the Sony es 4K. It does have output for two subwoofers but they are not individually recognized.

I was in between getting this receiver and Marantz SR7012, but ultimately decided to get this. I paired this receiver with Bowers & Wilkins 700 series (HTM72, 704 S2, 707 S2 and DB4S) and it can drive them without a sweat! The level of detail, clarity and warmth is very impressive. Coming from a STR-ZA1100ES, it's a big step up! The receiver uses a huge power supply weighing about 8 lbs, Usually you can tell a receiver's quality if it weighs a lot and this receiver is not light! close to 40 lbs! The only downside I had is the lack of Bluetooth and Google cast feature, but all of this can be achieved whether you cast to the TV, Blu Ray player or a streaming device such as Apple TV if you use Airplay feature. Dolby Vision compatibility has been added to the receiver via a firmware update back in Sept 2017. I've tested the compatibility using Apple TV 4K and works like a charm! Colors are vivid, amazing contrast and brightness levels. if you are looking for a powerful receiver with amazing sound quality, compatible with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and Custom Installation look no farther. Plus the 11 preouts will make it future proof, if you needed an upgrade in performance and sound quality. Pros -Amazing Sound quality! can also handle (120W @ 8 ohms, 20 Hz to 20 kHz, THD 0.09%, 2ch driven) -9 powered channels with 11 pre-outs plus two subs -Impressive build quality, built like a tank! -Dolby Atmos and DTS-X -Phantom Surround mode -4K HDR10 and Dolby Vision Compatible* *(via firmware update) -Clean modern design -8 port Gigabit Ethernet Switch -Music Connect feature (compatible with Sonos Connect) -Control 4 and CI -Very clean and easy to operate GUI Cons- -Lack of Bluetooth and Wifi -No Audio Jack out

I LOVE this receiver ! I have gone thru 3 different Brands and Models before getting my hands on this Unit - Wow, Not only is the customizing of your exact settings easy, but makes it so you can tweak each speaker to your exact choice all the way to the treble and bass of each speaker. All input devices can then each be set to your exact setting choice. The Networking of this unit is more than most will ever take full advantage of, but has the ability to be part of a smart home with multi room selection of Video and Audio. Can be networked with a High Res Media Player, I set it up to network with my home PC to share media files (Music & Movie) to my Home Theater. You can monitor this unit via web from any where in the world. There is no Blu-tooth or WiFi built in to this but nothing I miss, my Blu-Ray Player as well as my Sony X940 TV have Blu-tooth screen mirroring already. I just plugged it into my AC WiFi Extender into the 9 port Network Switch built into this unit and all and more of my needs wants and hopes have been covered !
