This lens is an excellent addition to have in my camera bag. As a hobbyist photographer, I used this lens for outdoor shots and did some shots for a friend's graduation photos that turned out excellent!

Good lens for Beginners. This came as bundle with my A6000 and I am glade they included it. It does a decent job with bird photograph. Since it's F4.5 don't expect too much with night photography. Overall I am happy with this lens.

If you got to this review, I am a beginning photographer but was done with point and shoot cameras and wanted to move to both interchangeable lenses and better camera electronics. I read a lot of reviews, talked to some friends, and then went to Best Buy. Both the entry level DSLRs (like the Canon Rebel) and the Sony alpha series met the need and, depending on the latest or the almost the latest models, were comparably priced. Both my camera-knowledgeable friends and the man in the blue shirt said similar things: think about the glass more than the camera body. How many lenses do you think you will you want (then double that number)? In the end the alpha 55-210 lens was on sale with the camera and I went Sony. My spouse also liked that the alpha 6300 fit better in her hands and the controls seemed less intimidating... time will tell but the photos have been great thus far!

I am used to shooting a Canon 50D with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. This lens is more like a telephoto kit lens, similar to the Canon starter lenses. It gives more reach for long photos, and better compression to shoot portraits at 200mm. It doesn't have the speed of high end lenses for shooting sports. I would also note that the f/stops of this lens doesn't lend itself to low light photography. A decent lens for the price, but don't expect the stars on a flashlight budget.

It is self-explanatory. Easy to operate! I wish it was fully automatic to the lens. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase!

Works great for the price! The zoom distance is great without losing too much of the auto focus tracking. Keep in mind that the aperture starts to increase past the 35mm mark. To hold a 2.8 aperture or lower, you’ll need to purchase the lens that is 3x more! Great entry Zoom lens to learn without spending the high price tag. Quality of images and the durability of the lens are great.

Love the camera, functions well... And very user friendly! Absolutely love it, however the store in Laguna niguel did not have the camera in stock, so I paid for the camera and went to pick it up again a store in lake forest, after picking it up and driving home. I found the camera had looked used, it would t even turn on. Tried different charging cables... Nothing. I called the Laguna niguel store and was advised to bring the camera in so they can look at it.... They then suggested I take the item to a different store in Costa Mesa for an exchange, after driving to Costa Mesa for an exchange, i explain the situation and was told they wouldn't exchange it, I had receipts less than 2 hours old, they made phone calls between stores, the out come was that I purchase a new camera from Costa Mesa and return the original that was broken back to their lake forest store for a refund. I'd recommend the product to others but my buying experience was HORRIBLE

This lens is my go to for wedding or engagement photos, it delivers crisp images because the lens has Optical SteadyShot image stabilization built in. Great color accuracy in all of my shots, also works well with fast paced sports action shots. overall great lens.

Bought to pair with my A6400, and it is fantastic! It's a great addition for any beginner photographer.

I've used this lens with a Sony A6000 and it works great. It's pretty big but not too big for such a great zoom. It also has optical image stabilization which is nice. Definitely a good second lens to carry with you in addition to the stock lens that came with your camera.

My first use of this new lens was taking some indoor photos at a college graduation ceremony. While I appreciate the compact sized lens on a compact sized camera, getting focus on distant objects/people isn't so easy compared to a full size camera with a standard grip. My previous camera, a Nikon D800 with a Tamron 70-200 lens could lock focus at least 4x faster - but it's a totally unfair comparison. In time, I'll improve my technique, but I wish I had tried Sony's 18-200 lens. If it is noticeably faster to auto-focus, I think it would be worth the extra cost. If it's not any better, than the 55-210 is definitely the way to go. The shots that turned out, turned out great!

Love my lense! Although I can’t get it zoomed out enough! My frame just isn’t large enough to get close up for photos
