Received this lens with the Sony A6300. I was pleasantly surprised ay how sharp it is. You do need good light, even in shaded woods you'll need the fill flash if you are using it for any close ups of critters. I keep the focal length under 200, about 135, f5.6-8 and have gotten wonderful photos of dragonflies , flowers, almost macro lens quality. At 200mm it won't be as sharp. For the price and size of this lens, it's a very good buy.

I have the A6000 and I generally like it but it is not a good camera for bird photography because it's complicated to activate the internal zoom: you have to go into the menu and/or assign a button on the camera to use the internal zoom. This is way too time-consuming for bird photography and a huge design mistake. The a5000 has that zoom lever and is much better to use, albeit a less developed camera than the a6000. Overall, Sony doesn't have much to offer for bird photography but I hope they will come up with better lenses and cameras for that purpose.

This is my first lens to my camera kit as a sports photographer. It has a great range and diverse for use of photo/video. The OSS is great for shooting video outdoors.

The best lense I can ever ask for. I am thankful I bought this because I was able to use this for sport photography.

I'm in no way a professional photographer and this is only my second lens for the Sony NEX-5t but I'm impressed by the long range the lens is able to capture. The handling of zooming is very manual (turning barrel so lens comes out) so it's kind of awkward holding a light camera with a very long lens, trying to capture your scene. I bought this with a bundle so it was significantly cheaper. I don't know if I'd purchase this lens full price though.

I bought this lens for our Alpha6100 to take on a family vacation. We have two Nikon DSLRs with long lenses but ever since we bought the Sony Alpha, it's been nearly impossible to justify lugging around the bulky Nikons. The only thing missing from the Alpha was a long lense. I have been very impressed with this product and it works astonishing well with the rapid shutter speed of the Alphas. I would say this was the proverbial nail-in-the-coffin for our two DSLRs.

Was looking for a vz lens that didn’t break the bank for an upcoming trip and the guy who helped pointed this out and I’m not disappointed.

I was a pro using Nikons decades ago. Thought nothing could be better. Shot air shows for fun. With the software that cam with my Sony a6400, I was amazed at the quality of detail and exposure range achieved for my final image collections.

Purchased this lens recently, unsure how it would perform being a kit lens. I am definateley surprised, fast and accurate. I took it for a spin and a youth sporting event with my Sony a6000, and WOW. The one thing I have an issue with when I purchased this camera was the limited lens selection, not a big variety when it comes to the e-mount series. I made the decision to get this zoom and thus far I am very happy, a great value especially for the price.

With lenses you typically get what you pay for. This is an excellent lens for a starter kit with a very respectable range.

Got this in a bundle super great price! Has stabilization and video looks smooth even at 210mm!

Was a little hesitant about this lens. Read other reviews both good and bad. My take is that its a very good lens for the price. Works well with my A6000. Takes a little while to get use to it, but once you get the hang of it its performs well. Good color and sharpness. Got mine as an open box. Would buy again if I had to. Highly recommend for telephoto use.

This lens is perfect if you’re just starting and would like to have a decent one to get photos from far away. Make sure it isn’t your only one, it is decent for sports events, but if you’re trying to capture portraits, spend a little more and buy a specific one.

I'm a photographer. I own very expensive lenses. What I learned over time is that if you know what you are doing, the lens doesn't matter. This lens is durable and the autofocus works great. If you are a youtuber or vlogger it will get the job done. Dont waste your money on big glass unless you are making big glass money from big glass projects.

I bought this lens to go with my Sony NEX-3N. Great for landscapes and wildlife. I used it this past weekend on a trip to Mesa Verde and was able to get some wonderful pics that would've been blurry with the 18/55 lens. One great thing about this lens is that it's compatible with the NEX and Alpha lines...you can also use with the E-Mount's but need an attachment. Great for people who may consider upgrading from the NEX to Alpha line in the future!

I was having a tough time deciding what lens to buy because in my inventory of lenses the only I owned was the kit lens my Sony Alpha 6k came with. I was offered the zoom lens with a package that would save me money but I didn't take the offer and regretted it right away. So finally i got my hands on this lens and I enjoy it more than my kit lens. Quality is nice and versatile. Definitely my favorite lens currently!!

Good starter lens for aspiring sports photographer, action shots are abit underwhelming just make sure your lens and camera are compatible otherwise capabilities are not going to be great

This is on my A6000 camera and is small and light yet the quality of pictures at distances is great. The lens removes easy and the lens cap is not tethered. The sun shade can be attached backwards to limit the space it takes while stored. Manual adjustment limits the parts that break and the speed at which you can zoom. Less moving parts is better.

Lens produced gorgeous photos and videos, image quality was sharp and the zoom was impressive. 10/10.

I am using this lens with the Sony A7II for a variety of different scenes. I am not using it for video. The lens was on sale, so I felt that the value was there, and if I were to consider the full price of this lens, I would save a bit more and get a higher quality lens to meet my specific needs. The lens has adequate range, and is relatively sharp. The weight is suitable for a small camera body and the focus control works without any issues. Focal speed is adequate and it will focus in moderate light.
