Spent extra money to get OLED and it was worth it. I waited a long time to replace my old rear projection TV, read all the reviews I could and finally went for the Sony OLED. The sound is very good also, so much so that I haven’t gotten around to connecting my home theater system yet. My wife didn’t want a 55” TV saying it was too big but she’s not complaining now that we have it.

gave up a 7year old Samsung led 8000 series to try to find a replacement for my missed plasma tv. this is the closest I have come to.
great contrast and color. only minor adj. I chose the preset of home cinema. the brightness is very good, eve though some reviews say its dark.
I added Apple TV to it to get the 4k video content. that made it that much better,
as far as watching blue ray it great.
standard Sony remote which is not a problem for me I use a harmony remote.
it has been a month with the tv I am very pleased. we will see as time goes by.

We replaced our 15 year old plasma TV with this Sony TV. I was a amazed how much better regular cable TV looks! I was also surprised how well regular DVDs look on this TV when played through our Sony 4K upconverting BluRay player. This TV has a good selection of pre-installed Apps. It is also very easy to play videos from a thumb drive. So far, very happy with this TV.

Brought the AG8 home with pretty high expectations that it would provide the same level of quality that my Pioneer Elite plasma provided for 14+ years. Well, I have had the unit for about a week now testing various 4K and regular TV content, and can honestly say that for the price point, Sony has knocked this one out of the park!! The levels of Black this set provides are truly Phenomenal! And to put my mind at ease after hearing everyone rave about the X950G, I picked the set up to do a head to head comparison. When comparing the two sets it was evident after a few minutes of viewing “Our Planet & Stranger Things that there was no comparison!! The picture clarity and true life color the AG8 provides is just untouchable!! Don’t get me wrong though, for those who are not plasma snobs, the X950G is a very impressive unit indeed. It provided a very nice picture, but just not the pure perfection I was looking for!! So, If you like me and looking for the best bang for your buck, than at 2 grand, you will not find a better TV than the AG8.

This is my second OLED in 2 yrs.... The first LG C6 had burn in & I was wary about getting another but went Sony this time & I'm pleased... not a bright picture but very clear.... natural colors. I’m heavy in gaming & movies. The movies come to life & it’s not over welding brightness to where my headaches after 2-3 hrs straight. The remote sucks for such a top end tv tho... no back led so when it’s dark it’s hard to see. Maybe they have a tv app I can download on my phone I’ll see A9 was better but not 1000 difference I’m picture for me. Love the A8 so far

I love this product for the picture as well as ease in moving it around. The blacks are very dark and consistent. The brightest picture with clear tones and color saturation. You have many different settings with clear instructions on how to operate each function. There are four HDMI and two USB connections as well as audio input and output. So light and easy to hang on wall. The remote is quite sophisticated and easy to use. Definitely a good buy.

The picture quality on this model is beyond any I’ve seen or owned in the past. Very few sets will display a better picture than this. Value for the dollar on this particular model is also VERY high. In my opinion Sony is offering a tad nicer upscaling picture quality from media not originating in 4K. And as far as displaying 4K formats, the color quality and saturation are disturbingly amazing. Build quality is second to none and the stand is entirely constructed of metal.

I've had a Sony 55" LED TV for about 7 years. Since they were no longer really providing s/w and app upgrades, decided to shop around for an OLED TV. Since I was spoiled previously by the quality of Sony, I did not expect it to be such a dramatic upgrade. The quality of the picture is outstanding. The colors are vivid and the black is black. Easily hooked it up to my existing soundbar and sub-woofer and have even changed TV providers to go to full-time streaming.

We were planning on buying an LG, but we liked the Sony picture and it has such great sound that we felt we could do without the complications of an additional sound bar. We love the sound. We don't need booming base for what we watch - we don't play games; we are more interested in clarity, and it has that in spades. Black and white movies are wonderful with OLED; and if we ever have baseball again, color in action should be pretty darn nice too.

I have been reviewing TV for a while now and always had LCD Led Tv up to now. But wanted to try the OLED and wasn’t quite ready to dispose of the cash just like that. Got my hands in the Sony at a really great price and dove in and can tell you the viewing is complety different. It works really good and the apps are working really easy. But the deep color of the blacks, well that you have to see to understand when I say stunning.

We wanted to buy a new OLED tv so we went to Best Buy to check them out. Vince at the West Des Moines store was so helpful and answered all our questions. After checking them all out and comparing pictures, we chose this 55 inch Sony. We would have gone bigger but have limited space. The picture and sound are amazing! Even SD channels look good and color! We are more than pleased.

This TV is awesome! Once you go OLED, you never go back haha! I love the HDR and amazing contrast and colors especially in sci-fi or animated movies! I got a killer deal on an open-box for this item, so it was hard to pass up! I also love how it recognizes my Sony HT-Z9F surround system and my Sony 4k UHD player -- only have to use one remote!

Amazing tv would absolutely get another have 2 of them and wouldn’t change a thing. If your going to game or watch sports, movies, or anything even on regular tv this tv upscales it and makes it that much better. Oled is the way to go after having Samsung and lg both great TVs the Sony oled out does all

For years I was a plasma only person. The LCD screens just did not look right and the first few generations of LED did not have the brightness that the plasmas did.
This OLED screen looks rich and has a great color pallet.
I like this TV and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade.

I originally went to the Spring location looking for another brand of TV, but when I saw the Sony , it took my breath away with the depth of color and the deepness of the black!
The other models look vastly inferior to the Sony, and I couldn’t put good money to a lesser product.
I am EXTREMELY pleased with the OLED and I’ll gladly recommend it to anybody!

Picked up this Sony TV in May for my Shore home. The picture quality is stunning. The sound is ok but I decided to hook up a bose sound system to the unit and viola...great sound to go alone with the great picture. The TV is a bit pricey but as they say...you get what you pay for. If its in your budget, you can't go wrong with this TV.

Beyond thrilled with the purchase. Picture quality is outstanding, and the deeper blacks make it absolutely worth the money spend on it. Only downside is the audio. it actually has pretty decent emitted sound for a television, however is not as strong as than some of the competitors. But that's nothing a soundbar can't fix. Highly recommend.

We weren't really looking for a new bedroom TV but saw this upon browsing. It was on sale and I had read about OLED picture quality. Our biggest complaint is "How come it never looks like this at home?". Well this one does. I used some setup guides from internet and the 4k picture is better than out other 4K tvs.
