After several years of coaxing, I finally sold him on the benefits of a smart TV and this week we purchased this Sony Bravia. It was installed today by a fantastic Geek Squad employee and we are extremely happy with our purchase. Having a smaller home, we purchased the 55" model with a Sony Bluetooth-enabled soundbar and it's perfect for us. The images are crisp, clear and bright, and the sound quality without the soundbar was very good. Because my spouse watches mostly sports and action movies, we opted to add the soundbar for the added depth it gives to the audio, which he loves. Though we're not big streamers, tonight we test-streamed content from a few of the streaming apps we occasionally use via our cable box, and the images and sound were great. As the Geek Squad rep was going through our setup today, I saw that this TV has many features that should meet the needs of those who are frequent users of streaming services/apps. We've been Sony TV buyers for a long time and this purchase exceeded our expectations. Additionally, I wish there was a way to recognize the great service our Geek Squad rep provided today. He was so polite, professional and helpful in setting up our TV and soundbar and in explaining our new TV's features to us. He should be commended for the great job he does!

Was going to buy a tv with mini led. But the Sony was even clearer and more vibrant, and the picture didnt blur at angles. Absolutely love it. And the price was lower. What else can one want?

The picture is A ok with me. I like the google tv part for apps and I use google so im hooked up. No problems for the past two month I'v had it.

Are there other tvs that have deeper blacks? Yes. Are there other tvs with better image processing? I dont think so. Look, if you want a punchy bright vibrant tv get a samsung or tcl. If you want actually great PICTURE QUALITY with crazy good upscaling, get this tv. I walked in ready to buy a tcl qmk6, but the sales rep swayed me to this. No crazy over saturation and really great visual more akin to how directors intended content to be seen. Only negative is slight blooming in really dark scenes but really zero regrets with legendary sony quality.

Sound quality was great but picture was not the same as seen in the store. I was disappointed since Sony are have a good reputable name. TV was returned. Later I was told by another Store that you would have seen good picture quality if you streamed in 4K. I did not know that if I would have I would not have returned the TV. I ended up getting a Samsung QLED. Picture quality is great.

This time I tried an LG QLED and was disappointed in viewing angles. So I returned it for this Bravia 3. This is a much improved device over the original. Picture can be adjusted to taste and viewing angles are excellent. Also the TV connects flawlessly to my Denon Surround sound amp using HDMI eARC connection and control. This is a huge improvement over the early model because the eARC use to be unreliable on Bravia 1. This TV has a bright detailed ultra HD picture. Very good buy for the price.

Sony is great with it comes to visual and color. The only thing was getting used to numberless tv remote. Yes, everything is access via stream, but to have ease with switching channel- we can pick our favorites and switch with only our favs and not see all the other channels.

I was happy with my old 55 inch

Picture is comparable to my old one, I'd have to do a side by side comparison to really tell, but it's not working. The reception isn't as good as my old TV, I suppose it's because most people have cable or satellite now days and Sony cheapened up in that area. I'm not happy that you have to buy another remote control if you want one with numbers on it.

We are delighted that you've had such a wonderful 12-year experience with your previous Sony TV, and we understand your disappointment regarding the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack on the new 55" Class BRAVIA 3 model, as many newer TVs utilize digital-only outputs. While it does not feature an analog jack for your older RF headphones, we want to assure you that you can still connect them by using the TV's Digital Audio Output (Optical) port and connecting that to a readily available Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC); this adapter will convert the signal back to an analog format that your RF headphone transmitter can plug into. Alternatively, the new TV supports Bluetooth 5.3, allowing direct connection to modern Bluetooth hearing devices and headphones.
