I love OLED, period. I’ve had the Sony A1E, LG CX, and Sony A80J and been impressed with them all for various reasons. Really wanted the A95K, but out of budget for this year. I was torn between A90J, S95B, and LG G2. But in the end Sony’s Cognitive XR processing can’t be beat, though LG’s new Alpha 9 Gen 5 is the closest they’ve come. And I still prefer Google TV as my OS. Even though the LG G2 has brighter HDR peaks, the overall APL (Average Picture Level) is still brighter on the A90J and its boosting of the all the colored sub pixels, not just white, still give it a saturation edge over the G2. S95B has a beautiful panel, but Tizen is a mess, and the video processing and motion processing are too aggressive and lead to more visible artifacting in tests I’ve seen. A90J handles SDR and HDR/DV material excellently and accurately. I’m amazed at how much more punch HDR has over my previous CX and A80J. That heatsink does wonders. You will notice it coming from any other 2021 or older OLED model. And image retention is virtually non-existent, thanks again to the heat sink. The built-in Acoustic sound is still the best in the industry, though it can’t compete with a high-end soundbar or full surround system, but will suffice for the apartment dweller or casual movie/tv viewer. Bottom-line is, if you’re cinephile, and can’t afford the A95K, the A90J is the best overall performing high-end TV of 2022, especially with the latest price drop. If you have to have the latest gaming features, go LG G2 or S95B. For everyone else, A90J is the way to go.

I finally decided to upgrade from a 2016 Sony Xbr55x930d 55 inch tv to an OLED TV. I did some research about this Sony tv and the LG C1 and CX. I watch more movies and tv series than I do gaming. For gaming the LG TVs are the best, Sony has yet to come out with VRR. For movies almost every review I read (10) said the A90j has the best picture quality. Since I watch more video content this would be the best choice for me even the price is pretty steep compared to the LG OLEDs. I got the 55 inch Sony A90J a few weeks ago. The box was bland and not too premium looking but the way it was packaged was fantastic. Once I wall mounted it and turned it on I was in awe.. As many reviewers have said that since it is using a heat sink it has an improved brightness on HDR. The picture quality on this tv blows out my old 2016 Xbr55x930d out of the water. I hooked up my PS5 and games looks fantastic especially Spider-Man Miles Morales. Also hooked up my Sony ubpx800m2 Blu-ray player and movies like the Matrix in Dolby Vision looked awesome as well as Mortal Engines. The tv also sounds fantastic when watching cable with the tv in built speakers. The price of this tv might turn off a lot of people but me it’s worth it. This is the best, hands down, bar none, tv I have ever owned!!

Pros: Beautiful Picture and very reasonable sound just using the television. Very expensive though. I learned last year to purchase an extended warranty on all Flat Screen TVs and I recommend it, even though it's a Sony.

Bought it for mixed use. I video edit, watch movies and shows, and play games. For video editing, color correcting HDR is amazing. Instead of relying only on scopes and hoping it looks good, I get semi-realtime editing making it much easier to adjust for HDR. My videos look excellent with my GH5S footage graded in VLOG to HDR 10 BT.2020 edited on Magix Vegas 18. I have yet to do HDR photo editing on it. Movies and shows are amazing too. I got a few movies from Bravia Core and look incredibly faithful, meaning no compression. (Disclaimer: Have good internet) Bravia Core is included with the TV at no extra charge and comes with 10 tickets for 10 free Sony or Columbia Pictures movies of your choice. I believe the regular streaming of Bravia Core lasts for 24 months. Not sure if we can make it a paid subscription after. For gaming it is out of this world. I use it for playing 4K HDR gaming on my PC with intent to get an Xbox Series X and PS5 in the near future. I have to adjust further settings and DLSS for 120 FPS gaming though. Audio was not my primary purchase, but If I don't feel like setting up my surround sound on my PC and just watch something straight from the TV apps, sound is pretty good for a TV. Bass wasn't super heavy, but very noticable for a TV. Usually, this is one of the greatest weakness of TV audio. Mids and highs are good too. It is expensive, but it was the TV I was waiting for. If you want the very best TV with good audio, I would suggest the A90J series.

This is an amazing TV. Great picture and impressive brightness. Easy to setup and use. Has everything you need for streaming. High price.

I have an LG 4K non-OLED in my main living room. I hate the local dimming which makes the movie experience worst as you would see the 6 big dimming area in a gradient. I did not get an OLED at the time due to concern on brightness. I am quite wrong after owning this Sony OLED. It is bright and vibrant. I especially like the integrated google TV. On the LG, I have to get a Google TV dongle to connect to the sound bar to deal with the audio sync issue compare to using the app on the LG TV itself. Granted the Sony has eARC while the LG does not. I think having eARC support on both TV and soundbar is extremely important.

This tv is without a doubt the highest quality tv I've ever had. Not only is the pucture quality phenomenal but the ease of navigation for how much content is offered is a welcome surprise.

Wow! One of the nicest Sony OLED TVs out there! If you need a replacement or want to upgrade it’s so worth it! Coming from a LED to OLED is night and day. Very vivid HDR and awesome colors that pop!

Great tv! Nice quality picture. Vibrant colors. Excellent sound, no sound bar needed. My only complaint is that I still have to use my fire stick. There are some apps I can’t get on google play. So I don’t really use the smart tv part very often. Also, I can’t turn the tv on and off with my fire stick remote. I also can’t adjust the volume with my fire stick.

I will start by saying I’ma sony guy so i tend to only look at Sony TVs. This is replacing a three year old 95 series which i loved. But the updated processor in this tv is definitely noticeable to me. The X1 processor was great but this one is better. I will say getting used to the west sound comes from the screen to a mother getting used s compared to bottom firing speakers. I left all the settings as they were out of the box and after a month the picture is fantastic. If this tv is in your budget , BUY IT! You will not regret it

Great detail, bright colors and very natural tones. The Google partnership greatly enhances your choices for streaming content. Hookup to my Onkyo amp was a simple one port plug in.

At first when I looked at replacing my 32 inch bedroom tv I was going to just get an LED Samsung upper quality unit like a Qled but I made the mistake of doing some research on Oled technology and was hooked. I'm not an expert on all the technical details some of you here are I just liked what I read and saw and ended up with the 55 inch A90J but before I got home with it I started to have a little buyers remorse about spending that much money on a television ,well that went away very quickly when I set it up and watched a couple of movies I was stunned by how much better this new TV was both in build quality and picture, I had a little bit of trouble getting it to stay connected to my Cox WiFi at first but after getting a signal extender it went away so if it happens to you is most likeley your WiFi strenth, also the tv manuel wasnt the greatest, I wanted to use the built in Google assistant which in this TV is in both the tvunit and the remote but if you want to use it in the tv itself there is a physical switch on the rear for the built in microphone you have to switch on, I had trouble finding it so next time at Best Buy I asked the guys in the Magnolisa tv dept in store for help and they insisted I was wrong there was no mike switch in the back, well turns out they were wrong its hard to see but its there, so if you want built in google thats not on the remote but in the TV itself look for the Mike switch, once again very happy with my TV and if you are in the market I would highly reccomend !! One more quick observation the remote on this TV is alson very high end its self lighting and fits my hand very nicely

I have two other similar-size TVs from other brands. Compared to them, this one has much better sound and I did not need to get a sound bar for it. However, software updates are a nightmare. Went through four updates, Each time TV went completely dead afterwards, Sony website or internet in general was no help because they assume TV is somewhat responsive. Finally, after talking to Sony support, I was told how to do a reset which seems to have been designed by a sadist. Have to unplug TV cord and plug back in while depressing a reset switch until a light in front flashes. Problem is that reset switch is in the back, is tiny and blends completely with its surroundings - cannot find it by feel - and need flashlight to see it.. Unplugging my TV requires doing it with an extension cord, which requires two hands. A third hand is required to push the hidden reset switch. This has to happen in the back of the TV, so, to see the blinking light, you need a third person... After all these updates, why can't Sony make better update software or at least, document the procedure on their web site.

Very satisfied with this Sony TV. The picture is crisp and the colors are beautiful. Sound is very good, especially when paired with the sound bar and the subwoofer.

If you get a Next gen console like a PS5 or Xbox Series X this is the TV to get. It has 4k, 120 hz, variable refresh rate. Games on this tv is absolutely stunning. The Smart Google TV is great for those who don't have a Roku or Apple TV. If you have these already and buy this tv, then just use the Roku or Apple TV. The visuals are better than the built in apps of Netflix, Hulu, etc. The remote does light up when you pick it up so its really helpful when in a darkened room. Using a digital terrestrial tv antenna with this tv looks really good and highly recommend to those who want to ditch the cable company and save $$$.

Probably the best overall picture quality in a consumer TV available today. Not inexpensive by any means but Sony has made great strides in peak brightness from an OLED panel (HDR and Dolby Vision are stunning). Audio also significantly above what a normal TV offers. I planned to purchase the A80J but the A90J just looked better. The menus and setting can be complicated, for simplicity just use "Custom" and "Dolby Vision Dark". After that you can dive in pretty deep for a true calibration.

Amazing TV! Picture - oled so it is top notch! My room is pretty dark so I’m not sure how it would do in direct sunlight. Sound - best sounding tv I’ve ever had. My room is small and the Tv is right in front of bed and it sounds really good. It’s easy to hear dialogue, etc. Of course wouldn’t be as good as external speakers but still great. Google operating system - honestly not bad but it is laggy scrolling through, etc. Still does the job and has everything you might need.

Fantastic TV. The A90J is the top tv of 2021, hands down. Sony has taken this TV to a new plateau. Brightness, depth, and contrast. I have a Sony A9F, and comparing the two, it's crazy how much of an improvement Sony has made with the A90J. I highly recommend this TV for anyone serious about TVs. The only negative is the price.

Easy to set up and a great looking TV. Save yourself some money and don’t by the current model year. Last year’s sets still are phenomenal.

Excellent picture. Trouble is at least weekly tv crashings when trying go from one program into another, (like from Hulu to Paramount), the tv freezes. We have to unplug and restart to continue watching. It’s not our 5G internet provider as we have 1T of internet power. In fact as I write this, a speed test shows our download speed is 806 Mbps and upload is 710 Mbps. I gave it 4 stars, however because I’ve never seen a better picture quality. To be fare, I’ve had other tv’s struggle with streaming but not crash as often as my Bravia. I’ve been told that all tv manufacturers put in the cheapest processors to keep their prices down. It’s just disappointing that Sony tends to be more expensive but seems to have inferior connectivity systems.
