A true Best Buy from Best Buy. Sony

I purchased a Sony tv from Best Buy two years ago and wanted to upgrade a Lg. I had another brand in mind but after a month of continued research, it came down to two makes. In the end I chose the Sony Bravia 7. So simple to set up and the quality of picture is better than being there live. I simply can’t believe how awesome this TV IS. No doubt in my mind that I would recommend this tv to everyone. You can trust Sony Quality.

I am very impressed with this TV. I have had a great run with Sony in terms of quality and longevity. I got the 65" model to replace my 8 year old 55" Sony, and its very impressive. The quality of the picture is great. There is some light bloom at times, but it is so much less than my older TVs. The mini-LED display is extremely sharp and bright. An OLED wouldn't work well for my setup, so this really fits the bill. One unexpected plus with this TV is that it integrates well with my soundbar and other older hardware. I think the upscaling is amazing. It even makes streaming sports look awesome.

      Hi Will,

We are thrilled to hear that your new BRAVIA 7 is a worthy successor to your previous Sony TV! It is great to know that the Mini LED brightness and advanced upscaling are performing well in your setup. Regarding the light bloom, we recommend ensuring your "Local Dimming" is set to "High" in the Picture settings to further refine those dark scenes and minimize any stray light.

      Thanks for choosing Sony.

This is my first mini led. I have the model before this the X90L. When comparing, I think the Bravia is much brighter and overall a better tv. Even though it's a small improvement, I love the dual tv audio/headphone setting where you can use both at different volumes. Another upgrade is the professional mode which is very accurate. It is a little dark so I raised the brightness and it's perfect. When watching football I use Vivid mode and wow, the field comes alive as well as the players. I was considering an Oled but the mini led is better for sports. I have had Sony my entire life and this Bravia 7 is the best. I wish they would have included a back light remote but you can get one on Amazon for $15.

      Hi JeffP,

We are incredibly honored by your lifelong loyalty to Sony and thrilled that the BRAVIA 7 is your favorite model yet! It is great to hear that the increased brightness of the Mini LED and the Professional mode's accuracy have made such a noticeable difference for you. We also appreciate your tip regarding the dual audio settings and the backlit remote—feedback like yours helps other members of the community get the most out of their setup.

The Sony BRAVIA 7 (2024) delivers impressive picture quality and bright, colorful HDR performance at a more approachable price than Sony’s flagship BRAVIA 9. Its Mini LED backlight produces deep blacks, strong contrast, and vivid colors powered by Sony’s XR processing engine. Movies and sports look fantastic, and the Google TV interface is smooth and intuitive. For gamers, it supports 4K @ 120 Hz, VRR, and ALLM, though only two HDMI 2.1 ports are available. Off-angle viewing and reflection handling are its main weaknesses, so it performs best in rooms with controlled lighting and centered seating. Pros: Bright, punchy HDR and accurate color Excellent processing and upscaling Great for movies, sports, and general viewing Responsive Google TV smart platform Cons: Limited off-angle viewing Only two HDMI 2.1 ports Some users report mild blooming or coil whine Verdict: A superb mid-tier Mini LED TV that delivers flagship-like picture quality for the money. Ideal for front-facing setups and viewers who value cinematic color and clarity.

We put a lot of focus on bringing that stunning picture quality, powered by our XR Processor, to a wider audience, so knowing that you see the bright, punchy HDR and cinematic clarity as a success is incredibly satisfying for us.

We appreciate you calling out the areas for improvement, like the off-angle viewing and the two HDMI 2.1 ports; that kind of candid feedback is what helps us continually refine our products.

I have this tv in a living room that gets a good amount of light and it has minimal glare when I'm watching. I was able to set it up and unbox it alone without much trouble. The only part that was a little bit difficult on my own was putting the legs on it. I had the whole thing unboxed and set up within an hour. I also don't have a sound bar but the tv sound is great on its own! At first I thought the screen wasn't bright enough, but after a day of getting used to it, I actually prefer it to an older vizio tv I have in my bedroom. I noticed that the sony tv doesn't strain my eyes nearly as much.

Thank you for the detailed review, Zara!

We are so pleased to hear that your K-65XR70 television performs excellently in your living room, especially with a good amount of light, where it exhibits minimal glare when you are watching.

It is great to know that you found the TV easy to unbox and set up on your own, even within an hour, and we appreciate the feedback that attaching the legs was the only slightly difficult part when working solo.

We are also happy that the TV's built-in sound is great on its own, eliminating the immediate need for a soundbar! Finally, we love hearing that after getting used to the brightness, you actually prefer it to your older Vizio, and that the Sony TV doesn't strain your eyes nearly as much. That visual comfort is a key priority in our design.

Before the review, I really want to shoutout Moses U. from the Fullerton Bestbuy, absolutely knowledgeable about the different technologies within the tv and human aspects that makes the product even better. Also, to the people in BestBuy in Bellfower, Daniel and Arvin that helped with the pick up process. As for the review, the Bravia 7 mini LED TV is outstanding, I prefer it to the higher models like Bravia 8 or 9, as it looks better in my eyes, I’m still able to see the smallest details. Initially I was debating between 7 or 8, but the details sold me, i really think in this case, just because OLED is newer technology, it doesn’t mean its superior in that aspect.

I spent many hours comparing this Mini LED TV to the LG C3 and C4 OLEDs. Regardless of the settings I adjusted, the Sony Mini LED was always noticeably superior in overall picture quality. I have owned several of both manufacturers' televisions, computer monitors, and other products over the years - both make great products. I had actually gone to Best Buy with the intent of purchasing the LG C3, but the washed out mid-tone detail of OLED panels doesn't make up for their supposedly superior contrast. The Sony Mini LED was brighter and had a more natural picture that was every bit as smooth and fluid. I also compared it to several Samsung OLEDs, as well as two Sony OLEDs. Again, the picture quality of the Mini LED just couldn't be beat. Years ago, a colleague who works as an engineer in LCD panel development told me to wait for Mini LEDs before purchasing an OLED. I'm glad I took his advice. After several months of nightly use, this Sony continues to perform flawlessly, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Even upresing full hd programs from years ago is astounding. As a side note, it pairs extremely well with the Klipsch Flexus Core 200 - the soundbar fits perfectly between the legs of the TV's robust stand.

Sony Bravia 7 is Bold, Bright, and Brilliant!

A couple of the biggest issues so callled professional reviewers have listed for the Bravia 7 are off angle viewing and reflections. I've had this TV for almost two weeks now, and I can honestly say I don’t see any issues with off angle viewing or reflections. Obviously, the screen has some reflection when it is off, but once it is on, there isn't an issue. I mean, if you are watching a very dark movie, while sittting in a brightly lit room, with bay windows, and every light in the house on there may be an issue, but that's what blinds and light switches are for. Picture processing is amazing in SDR and HDR. Upon rewatching some movies, I saw details and textures I didn’t know existed. Colors are very vibrant in SDR and HDR without being over saturated. Streaming even looks close or on par with disc. Gaming mode also looks great after a few minor adjustments. I thought my 2018 Vizio P65-f1 looked great, but after staring at this TV for a couple of weeks, I can definitely see what I was missing. If you get this TV you will not be disappointed. I'm convinced that they review these TVs in some absurd lighting conditions and from angles no one will ever be watching from.

I love this TV. Great image quality and the Google TV operating system works great. This TV can get very bright and it handles HDR and Dolby Vision with near perfection. Not great off angle and can show reflections from ambient light. Smaller controlled lighting rooms are best. If you have that this is worth the price for the image and features.

Hi RobertJ, we're glad you love your new TV!. We understand your feedback regarding the viewing angle of your Sony unit. It is recommended lowering the ambient light in the room or adjusting the TV's position to avoid direct reflections from windows or other light sources can also help reduce reflections and improve the viewing experience. You can change the Color Temperature from Neutral to Cool. This can be done through the Picture settings on your TV. Please follow this link for more details:

The picture quality is by far the closest you can get to an OLED for the price you get it for. Sony is still the top dawg in my opinion but LG is also super close as the runner up with their OLED C series. Some pros: Easy UI Picture quality and colors are pretty much perfect out of the box. Installation for the stands you get is simple. No tools required. Easy integration with Sony soundbars such as the AT-H3000 and can use the tv as a center speaker. No color bleeds or glow with text captions. Very similar to an OLED display. Very bright! But also has an ambient mode to adjust with your room lighting. No pixel maintenance! Like an OLED would. Cons: Speakers are ok but not the best with bass. A sound bar is needed. Remote is ok but for $1k plus give us a backlit remote. Only 2 hdmi 2.1 ports out of the four you get. One 2.1 hdmi port is a E-ARC port which sucks because you can’t connect two gaming consoles or any other 2.1 hdmi needed port unless you have a soundbar with a hdmi pass through. Overall this tv is great and is very very close to an OLED picture. Must buy if you want to avoid getting a OLED.

Beyond my expectations! I had purchase another brand,an OLED model, brought it home and hooked it up. I don’t know whatever it was. I know there’s a lot of hype about OLED, but it did not work for me at all. The contrast seemed off no matter what I did to the settings. and the picture was just pretty much cartoony to me. My son kept telling me about the new mini LED models. I very closely checked them out in the showroom. I really like what I seen. I brought it home and it was one of the best decisions ever made!, I absolutely love the quality of Sony and I absolutely love the technology of the mini LED and the ability of Sony‘s processors too upgrade, even the lowest quality content, which was not possible on my other brand OLED. highly recommended.

This is my first Sony TV, and so far I love it. The Google TV interface is so much better than my last smart tv from another brand. The picture is tack-sharp, and the colors are beautifully vivid. The sound is good for a TV, but I purchased a soundbar separately and it makes a huge difference. If you plan on wall-mounting this, be aware that it's very heavy at about 60 lbs.

This is a great tv! The upscaling of standard definition older movies and tv shows is striking!. Old contend including old black and white movies are spectacular! Newly created movies in 4K are amazing. This tv has great build quality. The only "down side" is the lack of 120 hz 4k HDMI inputs. It only has 2 HDMI ports that support Ultra High Definition, and one of those is the "arc" port. That may limit connectivity options when using the "Arc" HDMI port for a sound bar. Sports broadcasting looks bright and smooth. Movies look and sound exceptional as this TV supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, IMAX and DTS. Great job Sony!
