MY OLED NIGHTMARE

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beware I have had 2 of these delivered and BOTH had the same defect, a crease in the screen under the glass. On top of this it has been a nightmare to try and work with BB and the Geek Squad to get this resolved. After the first delivery when the 3rd party delivery service brushed off my concern about the crease, my sales person Aaron was super helpful in getting an exchange order placed. Unfortunately they sent a delivery service that had no expertise in unmounting or mounting tv’s so they could not complete the install. The next appt (2 weeks later), the geek squad came, mounted the new tv, only to find it had the SAME crease in the same spot. So they took it back. We are now up to 3 days of missed work. Todd from the GS told me they could probably bring an LG OLED over later in the day to install (no more Sony for me!) but then called later yesterday to tell me I needed to go into the store today and speak to either Josh or Sam from the Geek Squad or the sales manager. I did that this morning (another half day of work missed) and guess what! None of them were there (well the store manager was there but too busy to speak with me). After waiting around for 15-20 minutes I had to leave for work. Right now I’m debating whether to just cancel the whole order or continue to try and work with these people. It’s frustrating and anxiety-provoking, my stomach hurt the whole way home from work today thinking about it. It’s like some of the people are TRYING to give good customer service but these weak links are just too much. NOT WORTH IT.

I actually do not use the Google software or access to streaming services. I use separate ROKU box. I could not find a TV without all that extra stuff. It just adds complexity. The TV tuner for free OTA is pretty good.

However, it doesn’t work with the ht—a5000 soundbar as advertised. When connected via the supplied 3.5mm cable, the soundbar produces a hissing noise. Total tech was great and attempted to fix it but as of now, it doesn’t function as advertised.

Great tv but not impressed with regular content

Its a refresh of last years A80j. Great tv for low light viewing but doesn’t get bright enough for daytime viewing for me. The issue I had was with non 4k content YOUTUBE TV etc. Picture was just not as impressive as my Sony X95J led. The lighting an lack of reflection made regular content look dull. Now 4k streaming or bluray? That was awesome at low light. Just couldn’t make the compromise since we watch youtube tv majority of the time. Swapped it for Sony miniled X95K. Now im happy, Close to Oled and youtube pops again. Anyone wondering about blooming? All I can say is Don’t.
