Spectacular brightness and upscaling.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As an engineer I spent many many hours of background reading and in-person viewing to make sure I was making the right choice before purchasing for my situation. I chose the 65" size considering wall stud location and width, weight, room brightness, reliability, low bit-rate picture quality(I love classic TV), Dolby Vision and ATSC 3.0 tuner availability and last, but not least, value for money. This TV literally dazzles with Dolby Vision content without giving up much to OLED in terms of contrast for real world content viewing beyond demos of honey dripping off a stick. Any negatives? Yes. While the sound is fine for voice, you'll need to buy a soundbar and sub if you're looking for a cinema-like experience. Secondly, as a full array LED rather than mini-LED or OLED TV, you're going to see some blooming with titles. I chose to trade off some blooming in exchange for better shadow detail and higher brightness peaks in my bright room. Should I spend more? If you have money to burn, buy the largest Sony A95L QD-OLED you can fit in the room for many thousands more. I will be picking one up for a much darker basement in future. Otherwise, no.

The reviews are spot on. Great picture out of box. Played around with sound settings and have it where it sounds pretty good for tv speakers. Replaced a 10 year old competitors tv with this one. This is my 1st Sony Tv ever and i couldnt have made a better decision. This tv does everything and does it very well. Thank you Sony and Thank you Best Buy for a great “open” box deal. On a positive note for Best Buy, dont hesitate buying open box, i have never been disappointed.

This TV IS AMAZING!! I am wowed by the quality of every picture shown and was very easy to setup and use. Sony does not disappoint with their TVs and the X90L is a great TV to buy. Did buy the Sony 5000 soundbar a few weeks after the TV and honestly not sure it sounds much better than just the TV speakers... minor nit... A little disappointed with the over the air reception but to be fair that might be my attenna set up which i haven't had time to investigate. Best Buy delivery was excellent.. kept me updated day of delivery until the reached the house. Overall BB price and delivery was top notch...

The menu system is great - I use my nvidia shield and it was super easy to get this set up to basically be just a monitor, with video passed through my receiver and no audio. The menu system is great, and was easy to tailor the picture settings - there are many and I'm not quite done yet, but it's been great so far - no complaints. You won't regret it.

Amazing Quality; Just love the sleek looks. The Picture is sharp and the colors bright. There was a glitch in delivery (BB cancelled due to delivery van issues), but it was rescheduled and delivered a few days later.
