Dog ate same remote so i replaced it again with this item. I always buy Sony items. you can argue if there the best but it always makes reprogramming and interfacing items easier when they are the same manufacturer. Only reason not 5 star is the numbers for programming remote are printed way to small

IMO, NO remote should be without backlighting!

The good: The triple LED signal source is effective! This remote is excellent at the "line of sight" game played by all IR remotes. Very good at hitting the reception point on products! It seems to be a little quirky at controlling both your source functions AND doing the volume on the receiver at the same time. It seemed to get better with use though. Needs work/adjustment there and no backlighting! Never going to happen if I was in engineering there! Now having said that it's cheap! (retails $15 range!) Maybe too cheap! Slap $19.95 or $24.95 on this sucker and do it right, Sony! Still, it works! Not difficult to program, IMO, either. No "Game" function but had one for VCR? I thought that odd.

I didn't think it would be better than the original remote that came with my Sony bravo TV. Multi functionality remote.

After two weeks of use this device reset itself and left us with most buttons inoperable. It had to be set up again.

    Average Remote

I've been a Comcast customer for MANY years but switched to DirecTV this weekend. The Comcast remote that I had worked great with most of my devices but the one I received with DirecTV wasn't a "universal". I went out and grabbed this Sony remote from Best Buy and it works great with all my devices... BluRay player, DirecTV receiver (Genie HR44), and TV. The only thing it doesn't work too well with? My Sony audio receiver! It'll turn it on, control the volume, and I can switch the inputs (most) but it doesn't handle anything else. I'd love to be able to access certain features with the audio but no can do. Go figure. It's a bit long which makes it a little cumbersome when you're holding it and trying to control things with one hand in the dark but it's not a BAD remote. For a few bucks less, though, you could probably find something that works just as good. However, I'm going to keep it... I like the way the buttons feel!

    Best Remote Ever

I bought This Remote A Few Days Ago And The Only Problem I Have Is My DVD Player Is Memorex And It's Not Compatible With But I Works With Every Thing Else. Bottom line if You have a Memorex Dvd Player This Is not The Product For You But If You Have A JVC MINI HIFI Component System Go For It

Best Universal Remote I've ever had

I usually have to replace remotes about every 10 - 12 months because random buttons just stop working. I refuse to drop $80 on a high end model if it isn't going to be working in a few months. So I just buy $20 remotes and they are often hit or miss. This is definitely a hit, in fact, it's probably the best one I have ever had. With every other Universal remote I have owned, there is always a device or two that it just doesn't sync with correctly. For example, my last remote didn't work to well with my DVR or Blu Ray Player. When I would pause the blu-ray player the remote would not unpause it. I would have to get up and unpause from the actual player. But this remote does everything perfectly. I am thinking about buying another one as a spare to have when the one wears out. I have only had it for about 2 months so durability might still be an issue. But it does feel pretty solid.

Works on everything, with a couple catches

We have three remotes and one of them doesn't work half the time, so I decided to get a new one. I was shocked by the price tags on some of the all in one remotes. SHOCKED. I found this one at a very reasonable price and decided to give it a try. I have a Panasonic TV and a Sony DVD/BluRay/speaker system and a Wii. We don't have cable or satellite. I was very easy to set up and works great except for the extra buttons that normally control Netflix on one of the other remotes. It won't pull up the Options menu and the "return" doesn't work. There maybe something else we need to do to get it to work better with Netflix and will look into it. Considering it cost less than $30 and some of the remotes are $300, I can't complain very much. It seems like good quality and the buttons are solid and easy to find and use.

When I stopped my service with my satellite provider, I had to return the remote control too, which was set up to control both my TV and my receiver. I noticed this remote on sale, purchased online and picked it up in the store. The remote works great for adjusting the sound on my receiver, which is what I mostly use it for. The one issue I have with the remote is that while I’m able to use it to turn the receiver on, the same button won’t turn it off. So I have to manually turn it off. This isn’t the biggest deal, since I’m normally exiting the room when I want to turn it off, and only have to take a couple of steps out of the way, but it is still something I wish I didn’t have to do. Outside of that, the remote works well and I’m happy with my purchase.

This remote replaced a worn out Sony TV remote. I am a die hard Sony fan so all my electronics are Sony. This remote controlled all my components right out of the packaging. The set up was easy. The operation is simple too. Press the button to control the TV, and control the TV. Press the button for the DVD player and control the DVD player etc. etc. etc. Highly recommend this remote. Also, it was cheaper at Best Buy than Amazon. Another plus is that you don't have to point it directly at the device to operate because of the three "emitting beams", (sorry) from the remote.

Hey there! The remote is awesome. I lost a little remote to my tv while I was moving that had a roku button etc. Only complaint is that code you use to sync the remote to the TV in the manual was incorrect. I tried every variation it didn’t work. I ended up having to google some “TT” code and found one that worked. But I won’t leave a terrible review because it was just the chances based on the tv I have. But the manufacturer should update the book!

    Control at a Distance

I needed to replace the old controllers for both my Sony TV and BluRay. This one does both, AND into the bargain, also controls the Cable. Works well, and I can control everything with just a few clicks. Control has a good feel, so you can tell what you're pressing without looking with a little practice. I'm pretty happy with it -- I would even consider getting one if I had all new equipment because you wouldn't have to juggle multiple controllers. Price was right, too. Go for it!!.

With a product like this you don't really notice when it works correctly, because when it works like its supposed to there is not much to comment on. The buttons feel normal and the preset is no fuss. I have not dropped it but durability seems good and well-built. The only issue and it is a very minor one, regards the contour of the bottom of the controller. I use the remote for a kitchen television, so I am not usually holding it but rather use it while sitting on the countertop. Since the bottom of the remote is slightly contoured when you press the buttons toward the side of the remote it can cause it to tilt back and forth. So like I said very minor.

My Sony tv remote has some buttons that no longer work so I bought this as I also have a Sony A/V receiver & Sony CD/Minidisc unit. This programmable remote works fine for the tv but limited functionality for the other 2 units. So, buying this fixed my tv remote problem but for the other 2 units I still have to use their dedicated remotes. It may be because they are older units.

handy if you've killed your TV remote

Killed the power button and the up/down buttons on our TV remote. Picked this one up because it was rated highly, and promised ease of setup. Bonus points for being pre-programmed to work with my Sony receiver. It took me a couple of tries to learn how to input codes (because I misread the instructions twice) but once I reread them correctly, it was easy to run through the codes for the TV. Sadly, there isn't a website I could use to look up the proper code for my model of TV, but I got it right on the third (of a dozen) codes.

The main remote I use at home is a Sony RM-VLZ620. It has been awesome, and has a learning function as well as the macro support. When I put a tv in the basement w/ receiver, Apple TV, etc. I decided to get the same remote or similar. I ended up buying this remote, the RM-VZ320. It's almost exactly the same, except that it has one less device button and lacks the learning function. It has been working well. That said, if I did it over again, I'd probably go for the RM-VLZ620.

We purchased this remote to replace another we had just like it. The only complaint I have is that you can tell it is made of a cheaper plastic than the previous one, but it works. Our last one was worn out at the channel button. It lasted a few years. Hopefully this one will last as long. If you are looking for high quality this may not be the one, but it is a good remote. It will do the job.

I was definitely very bummed out when I lost my remote control that came with my original television. So, looking for another one was not too exciting because I was scared that I wouldn’t find a Sony brand remote control. However I was able to find one at Best Buy and I was extremely happy because it was Sony and it was on sale. I have had this for over a year now and it still works perfectly fine and it was so easy to set up. I would definitely recommend this product!!!

I dropped my Dish remote in the hot tub and thought I would be forced to buy another from Dish which was pricey. I bought this one and it worked great with my hopper and my Toshiba flat screen. Fortunately my Dish remote came back to life after drying out and new batteries but I still use this one as I leave it on the treadmill so I have two remotes!
