I absolutely love my Sony 70mm-200mm f/4 G lens. It is one of the best lenses in my stable. If the GM version wasn’t so expensive and heavy, I would of course suggest the GM over this lens. But, don’t shy away from this lens. It is sharp and extremely useful. It does struggle some in low light, but not unusable in those situations. If you need the extra stop of light, then go with the GM. Otherwise, you will be happy with this purchase.

Professional scary its a bit heavy but defiantly good quality

I use this lens primarily for landscape/adventure photography and it is currently one of my biggest go to lenses. It provides a great sense of depth of field as well as super crisp zoomed images. I would highly reccomend it to someone who is on the lookout for a telephoto lens. It works very well with my alpha a6300, but I hope to upgrade to the A7riii soon, where I am sure it will look even better!

This lens is fantastic and reasonably priced for the quality. Though Sony full-frame lenses are expensive, this lens is well worth the price to be able to achieve professional quality photos at $1100 less than its G-Master brother, the 70-200mm f/2.8. For my uses in portraits and longer-range outdoor photography, those few stops were not worth the extra price, especially given the incredible low-light performance of the Sony A7iii I have it mounted on.

The lens works very well. It is a great lower cost option to the 2.8 version.

Lens is very sharp with excellent color rendition, and it's light for a telephoto of this focal length. Very pleased.

I won't bother to say the obvious that everyone always complains about . . . it's too expensive and it's only f/4! wwwaaa!!! This is an amazing lens and even at "only" f/4 you can get sharp images with amazing bokeh. Just learn how to use your camera and how to properly set it for the conditions at the moment and you'll get great images. I'm using this with an a7r ii and it's pretty much my goto carry lens.

This is a phenomenal telephoto lens. Its the only one I've got, so I cant compare it to anything, but I get pretty excellent sharpness with this on my A7III. performance at f/4 is pretty great, and gives pretty decent depth of field. This is one of the sharpest lenses I have, and I own a Tamron 28-70.

Great edition to my Sony A6600. Thing is huge but captures great photos! Great photo quality (RAW capture) for Adobe LightRoom use

I own Canon's 70-200 2.8 and to be honest I prefer the IQ coming from this lens over the Canon when adapted to my Sony body. If your looking for a verstile lens for sports and portrait work as well as video this one's a sure shot and you won't regret it.

Sony G Master this lense is one of the best money can buy solid strong never had an issue and amazing photos with this lense it says up load an image but my images are so good I do not want to down size my image to laod the images are too good and would not give the justice to view in the settings the settings requested for this review

Light weight, sharp and quick focusing. Price is kind of steep.

This is an E mouont lens that can work with a full size and crop size sensor. I use it on my A6500 and it's performance is excellent. It is a constant F4. F4 is fine for the daytime but you may find it less useful when the light is low. Nice feature to have M/A focus ctrl on the lens. Nice that the lens does not extend when you zoom. With a crop sensor it performs like 105-300 equivalent.

This is an excellent lense to compliment your Sony camera, whether APC or full frame. The focal length and fast auto focusing are idea for sporting events or portrait photography. There is a removal mounting ring for a monopod or tripod is minimize the weigh and stress it puts on the camera. However, even without a tripod, the camera still feels well balanced.

Made my photography skills night and day better. Lens is light and has great glass!

Very sharp lens taking pictures. Weight of the lens is very good. The F4 is fast enough to take indoor action shots you don’t need to spend the extra money on the 2.8.
