    Great LCD Large screen TV

First off this TV is large. Picture quality is clear and detailed. This TV not being OLED does not produce the extreme blacks in low light but does produce black deep enough for watching HDR content in lower light room. However, in daytime viewing or with lights on in the room this thing is bright. Much brighter than OLED. Sony’s software and 4K chipset is phenomenal with all types of signal. This set uses LG panel with ISP technology so viewing angle is not an issue. I looked at and bought an LG and actually had both this Sony and the comparably priced LG in my house at the same time running same HDR 4K signal from Apple TV to both. The Sony hands down was far clearer, with better uniformity’s on both color and black screens. I returned the LG to Costco. Setup was easy, preset picture settings were good but cinema pro was outstanding on 4K HDR. It integrates easily with my Pioneer Elite Atmos system. I must say I’m very picky when it comes to picture quality as I’m a retired television design engineer. There are better sets but for the price but you won’t be disappointed with this Sony XBR 75” TV at this price point. Enjoy...

Great TV with some Serious backlighting issues

Love the picture about 80% of the time! Very expensive price for a 75” that has panel issues......It seems this model has an edge lit panel, and is NOT subtle while doing it! The left lower corner has what appears to be a flash light in corner that illuminates a large triangle of about 8 inches toward middle of screen. It can be seen clear as day on dark backgrounds. The other corners have same visual effect too.... The other 3 corners are much less pronounced but still there..... Overall it is has very nice crisp picture, but that flash light effect at an $1800 price point is very disappointing. I looked online to try and modify and tune picture for best color values and picture for my type of viewing with no change to this annoying problem. Sony put out a cheap panel backlighting option on this midgrade TV......... Disappointed is an understatement! I looked and researched extensively before I spent my entire Tax return on this TV. I was hoping I would not make have to make a purchase of this dollar amount again for at least another 7 -10 years...... Time will tell how long this Sony will last!!! The only thing I have going is I purchased the Geek Squad 5 year extended warranty...... Yeah at an Extra $480

Easy to use and set up was a breeze. I ran all 4 HDMI inputs and an opti cable. Sony sound bar and PS4 with a 4K Apple TV. It’s the best system for the price great picture and refresh rate.

Great Addition To The Man Cave Wall

Picked up this Sony 75" 4K TV on Black Friday at a great price. Three months later I can safely say we all love this addition to the Man Cave! It's amazing for watching NHL hockey in HD every night with Center Ice. Movies look stunning, especially 4K Ultra HD BluRay's (Coco is a visual stunner on this beauty; and don't get me started on Interstellar...). YouTube livestreams just pop and make it feel like you're really there. And television classics like Game Of Thrones will blow you away on this hugeass TV! I purchased a Sanus wall mount from Best Buy to get this beast up on the wall. Time consuming, yes, but the install went pretty easy. And having this Sony 75 incher up on the wall works out great for our family viewing space. One definite pro tip: I wasn't happy with the picture out of the box. Downloaded the THX Tune Up app and within an hour had the picture fine tuned in every way, perfect in Brightness, Contrast, Color and Tint. Overall, we love this TV and highly recommend it!

I was easy to set up the only complaint I have and it could be the way our mount is set up is its hard to get to the different outlets behind the tv so we had to plug everything up before we hung the tv which was difficult and we had to repeat our efforts because wires were were getting twisted and bound up we tried to hang the tv.

Bought this TV about a year ago. Was great at first. Within 3 months the corners starting clouding - black screens started looking lighter in the corners. I contacted Sony...they did virtually nothing. It’s only gotten worse since then and spread to 25% of the screen - it’s noticeable and distracting when black areas (or letterbox is on). You can see it a bit in the photo but it looks much worse in person. I’d expect way more from a TV that cost 3k. Buy something else.

Well I guess the $4'000 recommendation is really just a poor quality product from Sony. I expect that if you spend that kind of money you would get a product that lasts longer then 1 year. Very disappointed I have $300 TVs that have lasted 12 years. Do not be fooled buy the extended protection plan or dont buy

Great Tv but not the one that should have been given as a warranty replacement bc it didn’t and wouldn’t replace what I had! Tho like I said it’s still a great tv just didn’t beat the Sony I had before it went out!

I was looking for a 4K UHD. Originally wasn’t looking to spend more than about $2000, but I found a great deal on this Sony and it was too great to pass up. The picture is so clear and with it being 4K UHD, the 75” screen is perfect even in a smaller space. My viewing room is 12’x14’ and it fits the space perfectly!! The colors are vibrant, and the picture clarity is AMAZING!! There are nicer TVs for 3 times the price, but for the price (I paid $2300) this was by for the best option I found. Couldn’t be happier with it!!!

    Sony X850F (75”)

After a few weeks of research, I had narrowed the choice down to two: Samsung qled (Q6F) and this Sony X850F. My plan was to buy the Sony first and then if I was unhappy, I would return it and buy the Samsung. Once Geek Squad came and set it up, I was happy with my choice. The interface is very user friendly, color/graphics are also very good (a member of sales staff explained lighting and best scenarios for both TVs). Picture is great in both low light and well lit rooms. I can’t comment on sound as we bought a sound bar and had it hooked up same day of tv install (Samsung HW-N550), which, for the price, sounds great - even in open/high ceiling rooms. The only cons I have with the Sony is the quickness of finding your network connection. We cut our cable and have been streaming for the past 6-7 months (roku w/Hulu live tv). It was taking about 1-1.5 minutes to secure the connection to our network. We moved modem/router downstairs and it was still taking a bit (40secs to 1min), so we ended up going back to a device to stream which picks up connection instantly. One other item I failed to find during my research is that Sony’s OS doesn’t support Hulu Live, so we had to go back to using a streaming device (Roku ultra) and everything is right again. If you are a YouTube TV user, you are fine. Netflix is also supported, only Hulu Live was the issue (for us). All in all, a great tv.
