Very disappointed in the picture quality in broadcast less than UHD. It has a great quality picture in 4K broadcast but not so great in 1080P or less quality broadcast. My old Sharp 80"Aquos LCD 1080P TV had a better picture in a 1080P or 720P than my New Sony. I tried many different settings but nothing I tried compared to the Sharp except in 4K broadcast. I finally ask AI about the issue and it gave me the answer in technical terms about all new 4K TV's. Unfortunately, most broadcast are not in 4K.

Your TV features an ultra-high-resolution 4K panel (approximately 8 million pixels), which means that lower-resolution content such as 1080P or 720P must be upscaled to fill the larger screen area. On a 85-inch display, this difference can become more noticeable since the original image contains fewer pixels, resulting in a softer or less detailed picture compared to native 4K content.
This is not a malfunction with your TV—it's a normal effect of resolution scaling that all modern 4K TVs experience when displaying lower-resolution sources. Your BRAVIA 5 is designed to deliver exceptional clarity and contrast with 4K content, and it also includes our advanced XR Clear Image to enhance non-4K content as much as possible.

Overall, product is good. Area(s) of concern include, when changing apps to watch a specific show, the television will either turn off or freeze, requiring us to select the "Home" key several times.
We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your new BRAVIA 5 TV. The freezing or shutting down when switching apps is certainly not the seamless experience we aim for.
Based on your description, a simple power reset can often resolve this. Please try unplugging the TV for 60 seconds and then plugging it back in. This tv has alot of upside and the only negative thing I can say about it is the brightness is mediocre.If you can catch a good sale this is a very good investment.

We understand your feedback about the brightness; while the Mini LED panel is designed to provide captivating brightness and contrast, you might find an improvement by adjusting the Picture Mode (try Vivid or Standard for a brighter image) or checking the Peak Luminance setting in the Picture menu.

Dim. Beautiful but dim. Bedroom or basement TV. Sony has the motion but honestly so does Samsung.

Poor service and communication.

I made an initial purchase for a signal tv, and an installation. The delivery and installation was supposed to happen on 11/18 between 11:15 to 2:15. I called around 3pm to find out when they would come, they implied it would come later ( no specific time ). I called again around 6pm, they said it wouldn’t come tomorrow ( no specific time, they said someone would call). I called Wed. Morning 11/19, they explained the TV was not available and it wouldn’t arrive until Fri. 11/21 ( no serials exactly when it would arrived or delivered). I cancelled the order. I made a 2nd order that day for 3 TVs ( 2x85” and a 98” ), picked up that day 11/19, and installed them myself on 11/20 an 11/21.
