I bought this to replace a Samsung 85” that had a LED panel go out after a month! Decided to go back to Sony after Samsung’s build quality just seems to be getting worse. Expensive and big, but it is really an incredible TV. Refresh rate is awesome, color and picture is truly amazing. Pros are quality, picture, and refresh. Cons are clunky remote, awkward legs, and android interface is not the best. Did have some of the audio cut out issues on native apps but I use a fire tv and route through a Harmon Kardon sound bar and the sound is tight and strong. Overall I highly recommend this TV. It’s pricey but I feel like it’s worth it for the picture and quality. I have this beast mounted to the wall for a truly cinematic experience. I love it! Now to find a PS5 to truly check the refresh rate.

I was deciding on either a UST projector and 110" screen or this 85" TV for a dedicated theater room I was having built. The room is 228 sq ft (19 ft long and 12 ft wide). With the front row of seats 8.5 ft from the screen and the second row about 11 ft away, it's truly immersive. The screen takes up more than half the wall and has a fantastic picture. The blacks are deep without crushing shadow details with very minimal halo effect. Colors are vibrant, especially with HDR, but natural at the same time. I haven't watched 480p content yet since connecting it about a month ago, but HD and 4K content really looks great. Upscaling is handled really nicely here. I mostly only use this TV in a dark room and had to turn the brightness way down to not create eye strain. I have watched sports on it a few times with lights on in the room and it has no problems handling reflections. Also, with the 120Hz refresh rate, there's no motion blur. This TV is perfect for my use. I have it connected to a 7.2.4 Klipsch Atmos surround system, so I unfortunately can't speak of the built-in speakers. If you're in a similar situation trying to decide between a TV and projector, don't be afraid to go this route. Although a projector would allow for a larger picture, the picture quality wouldn't be as good and photos can't accurately show just how massive this screen is. It's a great solution.

This is without a doubt the best TV purchase I have made to date. I've owned different brands over the years, and the last 2 have been Sony's. We still have the 65in from two years ago, and it too has been great. My original plan for home-theater design was a projector-based system to use on our large wall. Instead I chose this model. This 85in sets the bar to a whole new level! The sheer size alone has given our viewing experience new dimensions. To achieve the color consistency and black levels across such a large surface area, coupled with a processor that provides no stutter in action movie movement is quite amazing! Set up was very easy, with the Sony/Android paired OS walking through the entire process in under 5 minutes. The eARC connection to our Sony - 7.1.2-Channel Hi-Res Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and Dolby Atmos was seamless, and everything communicates very well with each other. It is a large TV, so plan accordingly with the dimensions listed in the specifications. I was going to wall-mount, but actually found the base legs work very nicely with a good console stand. The legs have provisions to route wiring and connections, so everything is hidden from view. Finally, I find I'm very deliberate searching for 4K streaming content to exploit the amazing picture quality. Our guests marvel at the size and quality during visits!

This is an awesome TV. Super clear picture, resolution is spot on. Sound is decent, I complimented it with HT-ST5000 Sony Sound bar. It paired very well and sounds great! This TV weighs over 100lbs. I mounted it to a wall in our game room. Make sure to have a couple friends to help so you don't put to much pressure on the screen when lifting. I would recommend the PMX700 Kanto Wall Mount. Mounted flat against the TV and allows you to posistion the TV to look centered on the wall. It is rugged and well made. Also used a Legrand cable management kit to hide all the cables in the wall, gave it a nice clean look.

Uploaded a couple of pics, but they really don't capture the crisp colors and decent blacks. Having used a Firestick for the past several years, I thought I would continue to do so, however, the Android OS on this is perfect. I like it so much that I don't see purchasing any future TVs without it. Setup using my phone was seamless, didn't have to type in any wifi passwords, etc., it was able to sync using credentials stored in the phone.

I’ve been always a Sony fun, and buying this 85”X950H was a dream come true! Because it met be a little expensive but worth it! I am experiencing the excellent picture!! Really simple to use. Adding a sound system makes it perfect, it’s like having a theater at home!

Almost perfect. After four months... Pros: • Excellent black levels. • Superb, natural color. • Top-notch detail. • Minimal ghosting of brightly lit objects and text in dark scenes. • Mostly intuitive controls. • Good on-screen explanations of esoteric features • Decent set of advanced calibration tools. • Superb motion-handling and artifact reduction processing. Cons: • eARC can be problematic and unreliable; I experienced so many audio dropouts which required unplugging the TV from power (a simple reset never worked), that I finally abandoned eARC completely, which meant having to stop using the built-in streaming apps entirely and go to an outboard Roku and Apple TV. • Some popular 3rd party universal remote controls do not have correct command codes for important functions such as Display, Power On/Off, so reprogramming may be necessary after setting up your new universal remote. • Backlight is not uniform in the screen corners, but this is only apparent when running test patterns, or a rare single color appears over the entire screen.

This TV is amazing! Large screen with great reaolution and the refresh rate is off the chain. Had an issue with the display, called Sony and they fixed it with an update easily.

Running 2080ti pc on this tv. 4k with 120 refresh is perfect. Last year I used LG Oled but the refresh rate could not keep up. If you are buying a ps5 or Xbox series X. This is the tv to have. I almost purchased the next step up at 8K but still little content out for 8K.

Expensive but worth every penny. If you’re in the market fir an 85 inch tv this is hard to overlook. The picture is amazing and the color is brilliant. You need a long wall for it to look good but if you have one this tv rocks. Sound, even without a sound bar is above average as well

TV looks great and no issues for past 2 months. Hopefully it continues. I wanted to go for Sony 85" OLED after looking at my friend's 77". Unfortunately, Sony does not have 85" OLED and eagerly waiting for next 100" upgrade to fit our full opening that we kept for TV area. Geek Squad team installed our TV on the tile wall in our family room nicely as well.

Great TV. My third Sony (55-65-85) and the picture quality is great. I was deciding between a projector or the largest LED I could get. God I went with this TV.
