love the stabilization, I didn't think it had it but is does have 128gb storage capacity, I actually found an adapter to use the sony action cams on go pro mounts, cheap, so now I can use this action cam on my drone that has a go pro mount, pretty cool, and for the price of this model, it has a lot more features than the comparable go pro which is another $140 more.

I purchased this Actioncam specifically for biking and it has been great. The size is small enough to be mounted on the handle bars and the quality is great too. The steady shot works great too and was the main reason I got the Sony over GoPro. Another reason is that Sony offers a GPS overlay that can be added post-processing to show speed, time, distance and small map as long as GPS is on. I purchased this camera instead of the ActionCam Mini because there were more enclosure options for this as well the GPS is built into the camera (actionCam Mini needs to have the Sony Remote). I use this with an iPhone and have no issues as well as a Mac for post processing. I shoot HQ (1080) and get about 110 minutes per charge. When purchasing a video card, make sure you get the fastest SDXC micro so you can use all the video quality settings (SDHC does not allow for the highest video quality. The still photo quality is a bit weak in my opinion, but I use this video only, so this is not an issue.

I am 150% pleased with this purchase. The Sony Action Cam AV200s is a joy to use. It takes incredibly sharp videos and photos and is amazingly compact and easy to use. I love the various options for angle width, tone, intervals, loops, etc. The underwater housing is easy to use and the camera works great in the water. I was looking for a reasonably priced alternative to the GoPro and this is it. The only drawback is the lack of a screen to see what you are filming, but the free smart phone app fills the void as you can see what the lens is capturing on your phone. It's a little awkward at first to look at the phone screen while pointing the cam but you get used to it. I have both an iPhone 6 and a Samsung Galaxy and it works equally well with both. I bought a few accessories that work great. As you can tell, I am very, very pleased with this purchase. This action cam is perfect for my needs.

I purchased this camera because it was sleeker than the Go-Pro and less expensive. I use this to do my YouTube motovlogs. I have a mount on my helmet and on the side of my motorcycle. May have to send some footage to Sony! I have always been a firm supporter of Sony and their products.

Great camera that exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this camera over a gopro any day (I have used both). The stability feature is amazing and truly works correctly. Image quality is good. Newer model is 4k, but this one works quite well, with surprising detail. Probably would be better black. Features are good. Easy to set up the wifi link for viewing images on tablet (haven't tried on phone), although software changed the default recording place to the tablet. Be sure to change it back to the onboard SD card, or it may not record. Does start to get hot after about 7-10 minutes of recording. If you want longer batches, this is not the camera.

Better action picture than GoPro, better stability. Works well underwater with separate purchase of underwater cover.

I'm an amateur photography fan, this is by far the best toy I've own. Light, great photos and video, easy to use, even my 7 year old and my 3 year old have learned how to operate it. Much better than a GoPro wich was what I was looking for when enter the Best Buy store but the sales guy showed me the Sony action cam and I just could not let this pass by.

The directions that came with the unit are very basic. But I was able to figure out how to use the camera quickly. So far I have used the camera while walking around using a selfie stick. It worked very well and was steady. The picture and the audio were good. I have not attached the camera to a vehicle yet to test the video or sound. So I can not review that. All in all I am happy with this purchase. It does what I wanted it to do. Did I mention how small it is? This thing is pretty compact even in the water proof case.

This thing is great, got it for Christmas and the first day after charging, i took it to the mountain to do some snowboarding, I was amazed of the quality compared to my GoPro and the steady shot is a great feature, it is smooth and not jittery at all, the stereo mic records clean, i turned on the wind noise feature, no wind noise from boarding down the mountain at all, I am very very impressed with this small camera! Was very easy to link up to my phone to use as a remote screen to see what the camera sees to verify the angle i was setting to mount to my helmet, also makes setting up the camera very simple, instead of using the menu on the side... I say if your on the fence of a GoPro or this Sony action cam, you won't be sorry to go with Sony...

Purchased this as a gift for my son. He does a lot of hiking and kayaking. He absolutely loves the camera for quality - stabilization - overall ease of use. He definitely likes better than Go-Pro and says I made the right choice.

was between this and go pro, rep pointed out GP was fisheye perspective, and stabilization was better on Sony, which I seem to agree with. It is a bit difficult to navigate a bit, setup was tricky, activation can be tricky until you learn ins and outs, and some of the software for phone/tablet isn't also very intuitive. Overall pretty decent, but don't have a GP to compare with, so can only compare to a cheap midway.

After comparing this to the GoPro I went with this one since its splash proof, has a built in stabilizer, and can do live feed for others to view. The picture quality is awesome with little to no after editing needed on the video besides cutting and music. The live view works great for streaming when family members want to watch the kids soccer, volleyball, etc games. Battery life for an action cam is acceptable. I would give it 5 stars but the reason for 4 is the case provided does not shoot underwater video at all and the fisheye effect can be a little extreme depending on your shot. Those things aside, great camera!

The camera was purchased as a gift and has performed well. Instructions and syncing with Apple devices could be better and the selection of mounts is less than the GoPro. But it has everything we needed and image stabilization.

I find the Sony Action cams to be better than the other bran.. Anti blur technology and a great crisp colorful picture. I prefer the shape of the camera too instead of the square box design. The menus can be annoying, but paired with the remote view/remote control it works great. Also at a better price point than the others.

Great video. Good charge time. Needs more attachments.

I use this camera to record vlogs on my motorcycle helmet. It was a lot cheaper than the GoPro and with one mount (bought extra) I am able to do everything while still saving almost $150 over the competition.

This is a great competition to go pro. I really like using it with my wrist controller. It allows me to control and view for cost less than go pro. Get an adaptor than you can use all go pro accessories with sony.

I have previously owned and used three GoPro models (Hero 1, 2 and 3 Black), and the image quality from the Sony Action Cam is far superior to that of any of the GoPro models. Sharper videos, crisper colors, and better sound. Overall, a much better camera.
