Purchase price enticing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Remote control made cheaply and almost impossible to toggle left right upper down near the end. Had to purchase an aftermarket remote.

Nice picture, Bad "Smart" interface
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, the picture, clarity and refresh are great. Some of the smart features are innovative and there is good app selection, but there are several obstacles leaving the smart technology feeling half-baked. For example, you can't set a sleep timer when you're in an app like Netflix. You have to back all the way out of the app, set the sleep timer, and then go back into the app. After you turn the tv on, you have to wait quite a while just to change the input. The remote is not illuminated, nor is it very intuitive and it's easy to hit a wrong button when you're trying to use the arrow buttons. Small annoyances like this add up. It's not enough to make me return it, but definitely not a frustration-free experience.

Superb Picture and style
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony Bravia has always been at the top of my brand list in terms of overall quality, durability and style. This TV is no exception. However, as this is my second Sony Bravia LCD I can attest to the fact that the important factors that make this TV a 3 star instead of a 5 star are consistent across several models and sizes of this TV. Bottom line, the Netflix app and other movie streaming apps don't work very well. They simply cut out after a few seconds playing a movie or won't connect at all to the service. The method of network connection is also irrelevant as I have gone hardwired and wireless with the same problems. After hours of reading Sony repair boards and other online resources I was able to confirm this is simply a Sony software problem that plagues most of its smart TV's across branding and model/size ranges. However, if you are looking for a SUPERB image and are using third party hardware to stream movies or music, I would say there are few LCD's in this price range that could beat this Sony Bravia.

Decent picture, not so great sound, watch price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to start by saying that during the couple of weeks of consideration of buying this tv, the price fluctuated by as much as $75 and did so in a matter of days. It literally went up and down every few days. I believe Best Buy must have so price matching system referencing Amazon prices because it seemed to move lock step with price movement on Amazon, but it wasn't always the cheapest. In any case, the store honored the lower price on Amazon for the day I bought. Overall the tv is pretty good, you do get a lot for your money these days with LCD smart tvs. Great selection of apps and doesn't crash like my Samsung smart tv does. The picture once adjusted is very good for this price, however the sound is pretty dreadful. Samsung seems to win with sound out of their LCDs, Sony needs to work on this. Even after much adjustment I just can't get good sound. its very tin can sounding.

Good TV in general with some serious annoyances
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this TV for a couple of weeks and I am happy with it in general. It was delivered on time and they recycled my old model Sony TV. The image is good, but viewing angles are very limited. You have to be right in front of the TV otherwise the image is washed-out. I was surprised how easy it was to setup wifi. I think it took me less than 3 minutes. The annoying thing is that the TV does not keep the setup. I am constantly having to go over and over the setup process, having to login each time. This wasn't a big deal in the beginning, but now I am getting really annoyed. That's why I lowered my rating to 3 stars. There are lots of apps to choose from, but the user interface is slow and confusing. The home page shows two sets of apps. "Featured" and "My apps". You cannot change the Featured one. You can add apps to "My apps" from a list. One of the apps in the list is Opera store, which lists some of the apps in the previous list and some others. There is an option to add any of these apps to "My apps", but when you do so, you realize that it is not the same "My apps" on the home page. It is a completely separate one that you can only access after opening the "Opera Store" app. Arghhh Opera, the web browser, is awfully slow and navigating using the remote is a total pain. When it finally finishes opening the web page, it says the content is too large and it is going to close. I gave up using it altogether. So, no, this TV does not have a web browser. I wish you could install apps from Google Play store. They have an HBO Now app, which is not available in the Opera store. I am recommending it to a friend because there a are only two options to select: Yes or No. If they offered a "Kind of" option I would select that.

Great Picture, Netflix app is poor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned a Sony before so decided to upgrade to a smart TV of the same brand. The quality of the picture is great but speakers are average and I use external speakers to get better sound quality. The android apps are a big disappointment especially netflix. The app forces me to input my password intermittently and occasionally stops working altogether. Tried getting help from Netflix CS who say they know about the issue but no resolution so far. I'm now thinking of getting an external media player like roku. It doesn't make sense to pay premium for a smart TV and then pay some more because it doesn't work as expected. I took off 2 stars simply because of my poor experience with the netflix app.

not a very sharp picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a Sony TV I was surprised that the picture was not a vivid as my old Sony set of six years ago. I was told by the sales person that it was just a matter of adjustment and would be so when set up at home. It did not improve even after every adjustment was made. Sets from other companies and less expensive look much better !

Setup was just ok.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV seems to be good but setup was FRUSTRATING because the screws provided to attach the stand to the TV were to big for the holes. Ended up going to Home Depot to get screws to fit the holes. Having smart TV capabilities it needed updating, said that could take up to 5 min. Was more like 1/2 hour.

Nice pic but difficult to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this smart TV because my brother had one similar. However, his remote was a pointer type and the one I have you have to actually push the remote buttons left and right through the keyboard to spell every website you want to view. I still cannot access the internet.

High quality, but media server is terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV itself is really nice, but it has a limited number of apps available to it, and it's built-in media server discovery software is terrible and constantly crashes when accessing streaming servers such as Plex.

Should have stuck with my gut!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Samsung tv in mind and did a good deal of research. I bought the Sony because the "price was right", I was not impressed with the overall quality so I purchased the original tv I had in mind.

Ok TVbfor the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV to replace an LG that died due to a voltage surge.! Setup was fairly simple however directions on how to use the various features were embedded in the TV software and it was difficult to follow. We were also a bit disappointed in the picture sharpness and clarity . I continue to adjust the picture settings but have yet to find the optimal settings. Primary reason we purchased it was because it was the largest TV that fit into the built in wall unit.

Unable to adjust sound on TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound and volume, especially back ground sound (i.e. music and sound effects) can not be balanced properly. The music and sound effects volume drown out the dialogue. I have contacted Sony, but their solution does not alter the background sound. In order to hear the dialogue, the sound must up to the highest volume level to decipher it.
