This is a great hi tech tv with multiple apps. I own a Sony blue ray player and it displays all of the apps from the blue ray player also when the player is turned on. The streaming process is fast and easy. I have a Netflix subscription and I love the fact that Netflix is included on the remote control. The wifi process was really easy to set up. I love that the Sony Manuel is onscreen. The color resolution and clarity is clear and sharp . It make you feel like you are right in the middle of the action. I love my Sony Bravia. The volume was low at first and the Manuel gave me step by step instructions on how to adjust the volume to the room size. The instruction Manuel is very user friendly.

Great picture for the money. Used exclusively with a ps4. The sound isn't too bad, the simulated surround was a good try but you loose too much of the voice. The only Bad part is the "Smart" functionality. This TV runs Opera browser, it's not so good. I also have Bravia Android TV so I'm spoiled by that. It does have a long list of apps and capabilities but I found it to be slow and clunky. It's not a big deal being that the playstation is always on. For under $500 it's a great purchase. I am satisfied.

This is my first Sony TV purchase, and price was my main motivator. I was looking for a 48' , in my "price range", that wasn't an LG as I had just had an LG go dark on me after a little over a year. (Bad LED Driver) The smart TV apps seem to work seemlessly..now I can pop right over to Netflix without firing up my Xbox. There are alot of apps..I have only played with a few. The picture has taken some "tweaking" for it to look as sharp , bright and colorful as I like to see it. The large variety of picture settings were a little bit overwhelming. Dynamic mode by itself didn't have the desired picture I was looking for so I spent an hour + going through each option... I still find myself playing with the picture settings. Fast motion is what you would expect from a 60hz refresh rate. But it is 10x better quality than what got with the Insignia brand I returned when I bought this Sony. The picture looks the best when viewing straight on, and considerably looses quality when viewing from the sides, as with most LED tv's it brightens or looks hazy to me. For the price, this "budget" smart TV is worth it until I can afford a 4k curved one, one day. :)

Sony made a great tv. The picture is vivid and easy to adjust. It is a smart tv that can use the Internet and comes with a lot of apps including Netflix. It even changes inputs when selecting a blue ray player or directv. The tv also has play station capabilities. It was a great purchase that replaced a plasma tv that quit working. The only problem is when you use the Internet to watch streaming video the remote is unable to select full screen.

First I had this toshiba 49" they were selling for 350 but its picture quality didn't convince me to keep it but i also learned that tv was the same one on sale around black friday for 150, then i felt like i was being cheated, i don't know.... i took it back and got this one instead, it was 50 bucks cheaper than bb online at my local store. so far, i'm happy with its picture quality, all the smart tv features and PS Now weren't a selling point for me since i have appletv, fire stick tv and chromecast, but i do like the fact that has 4 hdmi and 2 usb ports, i dislike the huge power cable box but oh well, sound is ok but didn't care about it since i also bought a sound bar (and btw the sound is great LG LAS454B), i like the fact that sony included the mount brackets (fixed, just what i needed) and once mounted the space between the wall and the tv was good enough to hide all the cables and even a Dish wireless joey and my old nintendo wii. i'm happy with it, i only hope it stays like that for long time, nowadays with technology anything could happen, with my old vizio tv, 1 of the hdmi ports went bad (no audio) just a little bit over a year (hence, out of warranty) and it also has this ugly line right in the middle of the screen from top to bottom that kinda goes away after a few minutes being on but not completely, first vizio and the last one.

We bought a larger Samsung TV first, brought it home and spent hours trying to set it up and get it working. We gave up and took it back, but then Best Buy salesman convinced us this one was a really easy set up and a great picture so we tried it. Had it working in 10 minutes! Great picture, and we like the size better than the larger 55 " that we had tried first. Very simple to use... (we have it hooked to Apple TV not cable.) We are very happy with this one

Best price for a 48-55 inch Smart TV. I bought a Sony that ended up being faulty due to a pixel problem. The LG was easy to set up and perfect for my 83 year old parents. Remote is very simple and easy to use. Has a Netflix button that makes it so easy to operate. Good Picture. I wish it had standard Audio out, for theatre sound hook up on older A/V Receiver. Has optic and digital audio outputs. For $60 more then the Sony and 7 inches bigger screen, was a no Brainer. Great TV for the Money!

I didn't see the need for 4K so this tv fit the bill nicely. Incredibly lightweight, easy to use. Great picture. I don't use any of the smart TV Functions but just by playing with them once I can see they are somewhat slow to navigate through. No issues, hooked right up to my WIFI and Apple TV 4 with no issues.

i've had this tv for about 2 months and i've been very pleased. the color quality is great - the blacks are really black and whites are whites. it has a sharp picture too. there is a slight bit of pixelation during fast moving sports action but really not bad or too noticeable. I guess I'm comparing it to my current Samsung tv which doesn't have any pixelation/blur at all during sports action - that said the Sony tv has a more vivid, colorful picture. Also, the Samsung smart features are a bit more user friendly but that's not to say that Sony's are bad...they are still fairly easy to setup and use. Also, as many have mentioned the sound quality isn't the greatest but that's expected. Not a big fan of the tv stand either but it being mounted on the wall anyways so that's not a major deal to me. All that said the great picture quality and smart tv features are more worth the money for this tv. Would highly recommend this tv.

After working out our budget for what we could afford to upgrade to, my wife and I decided we could not afford a 4k . What helped us was the fact the 4 k models would not be used to its fullest .Broadcasters haven't caught up to the technology. Eventually they will and by that time we will reevaluate our position the prices will come down and we will be able to afford 4K. Our research led us to Samsung's 1080P models again. With full intention to buy a Samsung we went to our local Best Buys. To our surprise we compared this Sony Bravio to the Samsung comparitive model. Wow what a difference in the clarity of the picture. The Sony also impressed us with the motion technology compared to the Samsung. They won hands down. We are very pleased with our Sony. The only downside to our purchase was the remote. It was difficult getting used to the different configuration with little explanations how to use the remote. There is no preset for favorite channels that I could find. Thus only 4 rating.

I read these reviews but make my own decisions, it is after all my money being spent. Most of the reviews were positive, and rightly so. this is a superior tv in every way but one, hence it is one star shy of perfect. The picture is outstanding, best i have seen save 4k models, and can be adjusted easily to personal taste. Sound quite good, ease of use and remote are excellant. The only problem i have is with the Smart,it is not. i knew this from all the reviews and C net and engadget. as this unit is a 2014 intro model, design of which began previous to that year.Turns out i choose to not be concerned about this,as my i phone, i pad, and laptop are there to use. Sony has addressed the smart with its c models, but i still got this one based on sale price of 469 on a one day sale of Deal of the day. I am glad i did and would say to those who maybe are still waiting to consider the cost/benefit :THIS IS AN EXCELLENT T V AT A REASONABLE PRICE!!!!!

I bought this 48" 1080p TV to replace my 32" 720p. The screen is nice and it is light for such a large unit. It also has plenty of HDMI ports to connect to various. Accessories. My only issue is the wall mount. I needed to use a fully articulating arm mount. This proved a problem as my standard mounts covered the AV ports. The TV also did not mount to the center of the TV. It was offset to the bottom and I worried about the TV wanting to tilt all the time. The TV recommends a flat to the wall mount style using screws and pulleys supplied in the set. That did not work for me. I finally found a mount (not on sale of course) that I got to work. TV is great but mounting was an issue.

The Smart part of the TV is great, but there is a limit on apps you can download. It's only approved Sony apps, which means no HBOGO or apps from the app store. Also the remote input of text is really slow. A remote with letters on it would be better

Was looking for the max size I could do under 50inches to fit a corner space. This did the trick. Apps are great so far, pic quality is great. I put some old 60s movies on Criterion Blu-ray on and the classic grain and quality was excellent. Only complaint is the remote: it is tough to press the arrow keys without sometimes accidentally hitting the hot button keys around them. Gets equally troublesome when trying to enter in UN and PWs for apps. But, we're talking just the remote here. Need to get used to it, or maybe there's a better replacement down the way.

Well Sony does it again - a great picture and nice set. The set was easy to set-up and worked great right out of the box. Excellent color and blacks. Good remote and decent sound for a change. The only reason I just gave it 4 stars was due to the power supply. It is not built in but an external brick. I guess in a way that maybe good cause if burns out then all you have to do is get a new brick instead of a entire set but I just like everything built in and have the power supply cord to plug into the wall outlet. I mounted it to the wall using a universal mount so I can't comment on the stand that comes with the TV or Sony's wall mount.

I returned this TV after about a week and bought a 55" Samsung for $70 more. The Netflix app on the Sony would not allow me to login to Netflix. The most irritating part is that Sony has been promising a software fix since at least July 2015 and I bought the TV in late November. That said, the picture was great, the Smart TV feature were better than the Samsung Smart Hub (absent the glitch), there are more HDMI ports on the Sony, and the interface with my Samsung soundbar was way better than the Sony. If you want a 48" TV and don't mind the Netflix glitch, I'don't still recommend the 48" Sony over the comparably sized Samsung.
