My Klipsch subwoofer's amplifier and paying for a replacement cost me more than replacing it with this Sony subwoofer. The power was the same but in a smaller footprint that is easier to place due to it's smaller size. Also, this sub is able to reproduce lower frequencies than my old Klipsch. Very pleased so far with the sub. The only drawback is the length of the warranty (1 year) vs. the Klipsch (5 yrs.). I'm hoping the Sony quality and price will make up for the deficiency in warranty length. Time will tell.

This sub is insane! I can’t believe how much bass this thing produces. Even in a large Open room it is impressive and my dogs are scared of it. It has a standby mode which is nice. when it doesn’t detect any sound it turns itself off and then back on when sound returns, so no need to keep turning the power on and off. There are volume control and frequency control knobs so you can set it the way you want. I could have 2 hooked up to my receiver but I don’t want to blow my house up lol one is plenty

Fits perfectly where I wanted to put it. Sounds great. Has volume settings on back which is nice.

My use of this is primarily to fill in the bass in normal listening, which it does excellently. On occasion I have cranked the system up and it rocks the room. Only complaint is that the auto power down does not work correctly - it does not power on again. This is probably due to the fact that I am using the speaker level inputs vs the dedicated input, and the volume is set low. At any rate, that is a trivial problem. For the price this is one really good piece of equipment.

Pleased with my purchase. Sound is great, clear bass, would recommend it.

Using as part of a 7.2 system. For the price, you get a lot of boom and a sleek visual presence

Another great Sony product. This new sub we bought out performs out older Sony subs by far. I always want the subs where I can manually adjust the bass frequency to hit the highs and lows or in betweens that all songs differ in. Paired with the Sony receiver, we were able to dial in the specific sound and settings we wanted. I have an old dj numark mixer that I use in tandom with the receiver, so it boosts the sound even more.

It's hard to beat the price and the quality of this subwoofer for a modest home theater. The bass is rich and fulfilling. Easy to connect to the receiver with supplied cable. Highly recommended.

Sounds fantastic with 3.1 home theatre setup in my 12x12 home study with a 50" Hisense tv, Yamaha receiver and Klipsch speakers with the Sony subwoofer. Music is very detailed and sounds great. Action movies are awesome. Highly recommend this subwoofer. Great value when on sale!

Deep bass, strong, price is acceptable for medium use

For the money this delivers the Big Sound. So happy I didn't overreact and go for the wireless $$$ model. This sounds so good with movies and music. And it I have no money remorse.

Wanted to replace my 90's tower speakers. This did the job. At a small cost, but this is a space savor without sacrifice of the BOOM. Love it.

Went to buy the Polk Audio and saw the Sony on sale to the stereo guy had me listen to both I admit I did not want to hear the Sony there was a big difference in bass clear and then he said you know Sony started out as a audio company Thanks to him I bought the Sony.

I purchased the SACS9 subwoofer to compliment my Sony Core tower speakers (SS-CS3). WHAT I LIKED: I liked the build quality, ease of setup, and accurate controls, but returned this subwoofer after testing for a couple days. It did provide good atmospheric bass that I think would complement movie watching. WHY I RETURNED: In my room (15'x20'), the bass lacked the accuracy and punch that I was hoping to achieve for music listening. For example, it did not give kick drums the 'oomph' that I wanted to hear. Moreover, it did not represent low frequencies with equal volume levels. The lower it got, the quieter it became. I concluded that, despite the impressive build quality and features, the 70w RMS (115w Max) amplifier was under-powered. WHAT I DECIDED TO DO: I decided to spend a little more money, and buy the Klipsch R-100SW (on sale for around $175). My Klipsch is 150w RMS (300w Max), and the difference is night-and-day. If you are looking for something for music, I highly recommend getting something with more power.

Amazing, high-quality sound for a great price. Not boomy or punchy like some subs can be. Added to a pair of powered speakers as my home theater system and it blows away any soundbar I've owned or heard. Highly recommended.
