Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Sony Core Series speakers from the floorstanding towers to the center channel to the bookshelf speakers to the subwoofer to pair with the Sony STR-DN1080 AVR for a Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 setup and the sound is amazing! I upgraded from a Sony soundbar and what a difference! I am definitely impressed and glad I switched! Get the entire setup on special to make it even more worth it! I would not use the auto-off switch as it tends to turn off during a movie.

Even in a large Open room it is impressive and my dogs are scared of it. It has a standby mode which is nice. when it doesn’t detect any sound it turns itself off and then back on when sound returns, so no need to keep turning the power on and off. There are volume control and frequency control knobs so you can set it the way you want. I could have 2 hooked up to my receiver but I don’t want to blow my house up lol one is plenty

Great replacement for my Klipsch Subwoofer

The power was the same but in a smaller footprint that is easier to place due to it's smaller size. Also, this sub is able to reproduce lower frequencies than my old Klipsch. Very pleased so far with the sub. The only drawback is the length of the warranty (1 year) vs. the Klipsch (5 yrs.). I'm hoping the Sony quality and price will make up for the deficiency in warranty length. Time will tell.

Excellent Subwoofer

On occasion I have cranked the system up and it rocks the room. Only complaint is that the auto power down does not work correctly - it does not power on again. This is probably due to the fact that I am using the speaker level inputs vs the dedicated input, and the volume is set low. At any rate, that is a trivial problem. For the price this is one really good piece of equipment.

Doesn't disappoint!

Music is very detailed and sounds great. Action movies are awesome. Highly recommend this subwoofer. Great value when on sale!

This new sub we bought out performs out older Sony subs by far. I always want the subs where I can manually adjust the bass frequency to hit the highs and lows or in betweens that all songs differ in. Paired with the Sony receiver, we were able to dial in the specific sound and settings we wanted. I have an old dj numark mixer that I use in tandom with the receiver, so it boosts the sound even more.

Great sound at a great price

Added to a pair of powered speakers as my home theater system and it blows away any soundbar I've owned or heard. Highly recommended.

I thought the neighbor was having a block party until I figured out I was just hearing previously inaudible frequencies. Adjusted the range to keep them from calling the cops on me.
