There’s a lot under the hood and if you have the time and want to learn this camera can beat some mirrorless cameras on the market today

Punches above its weight class

Despite the size, the image quality is fabulous. I love the ability to customize to my use and it's extremely fast focusing. This is my new travel companion. My only suggestion is purchasing an aftermarket grip, as it can feel a little small.

Well, I am reviewing this in August 2022, I have this camera for about a year now, and in my opinion, this camera is no longer impressive in 2022. For background, I do own Sony full frame and APS-C cameras as well as a couple of Fujifilms, so I know my way around cameras, and one of the reasons I bought this is the form factor and focal range. It does excel in form factor and reach, but when it comes to image quality, it's just on par with the new iPhones. So, for the price, it would just be better to buy an iPhone if you don't really need the zoom range. But I still won't sell my RX100 because of the RAW files. The convenience of having a compact camera that can produce good quality RAW files is what makes me hold on to this camera. But if you will just shoot and use the JPEGS, just get an iPhone and save money. Or just add a little more and get the Sony A6600.

Owned a RX100 V (sold it) and tried the ZV-E10...

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the VII it has a 3mm jack & articulating screen (unfolds up top). The settings can be daunting and you need to really go thru the Fn and Menu (picture & video). IMHO, got to go thru it at least twice to just get the basics. There are nuances that you (I) may just overlook. I.E. got to figure out if I can close the viewfinder and keep camera on...it turns off if using viewfinder and then close. I've been "dry firing"...pulling it up...turn on and knowing that I have it at the appropriate picture setting and video setting and pressing the appropriate buttons. Like a "point and shoot" knowing that I may have to go into Fn or Menu to set it properly. By the way, the mic works really well and the only problem is when you are in windy conditions. I tested it by recording while in front of a fan...needs wind diffuser or use a LAV mic. This is a rather robust camera but I believe it's worth the price point but it does require your time and attention.

Best point and shoot I've ever owned.

I got the grip accessory for better handling. Better than trying to use my phone camera, especially for the aforementioned kid photos.

I use it for concert photos & videos & honestly they look pro-shot. While it is expensive, you are truly get the best available. I also purchased the extra microphone add-on which makes a huge difference when shooting videos...Highly recommend!
