    Beautiful clear photos & great colors. Only downside is the digital zoom, which creates a fuzzy image - you're better off using the optical zoom & cropping & enlarging the part of the image you want. Lots of complicated functions, but the "auto" setting is so good you may not need them.

    Does was it's supposed to do in a small compact package. Wish it had the ND built in like prior models but there are ways around that.

  • The new cell phone is nice, but I wanted more

    My RX100II stopped being reliable and since I upgraded my Samsung, I was getting nice pictures out of the "always nearby" camera, but I missed the features of a real camera. I was skeptical about the focusing, but so far it's been solid and will be with me on my upcoming trip to the National Park visits this summer.

  • very soft lens-disappointing camera

    I have owned several Sony camera products including the a6000, a6400, with kit and different G and Zeiss lenses, hx90v, hx80. All of these had their purpose and place with very sharp results. Maybe I purchased a bad copy with a soft/unsharp lens? I was extremely disappointed with the overall sharpness and picture quality. The macro shots in particular were downright terrible for a camera at this price. My iphone doesn't zoom quite as far as the rx100-7 but takes better photos and is also a phone. With a 1" sensor and a small overall size I wasn't expecting full frame or dslr level but I have never been so disappointed with a camera.

    Camera not reliable. Lens will not retract. Had to repair after one year and now not working again. Sony uses cheap ribbon cables inside their camera that break even with modest normal use since they are bent at sharp angles.
