I bought this voice recorder so I could record business meetings and workshops and later transcribe note. I works great. The voices are very clear and it even records in stereo. Total recording time and battery life are excellent. The software for your PC loads when you plug the device into your USB port. The software makes it easy to transfer the recordings to you PC and play them back, I especially like the 3 second skip forward or backward buttons.

I really like the size of this dictaphone. I wanted one that had the USB cord to connect directly to my computer. It is very easy to use and the sound quality is very good and clear.

I purchased this recorder to use to interview people for a technical book. I wanted something that had the ability to 1) produce higher quality files, 2) transfer the files from the recorder so as to be able to share with others 3) produce files in a common format (mp3). This device does all of that. It has different microphone sensitivity settings and I found that I really needed to set the microphone sensitivity to the most sensitive setting. I would prefer that it had a re-chargeable battery--I think that would be more user-friendly. The quality of the audio files is very good. The recorder has different settings for the bit rate for the mp3 files also. For voice, I have it set on medium, but you could set it higher to record music. For example, a friend of mine is a singer who has a very good voice. She recently did a Christmas concert and I would have liked to have used the recorder to see how it worked with that, but I purchased the recorder after the concert. That's about all I have on this. The recorder is a compact size and so portability is not an issue. Yes, overall this does exactly what I purchased it for and it works as advertised. My only regret, as stated above, is that it does not have an integral rechargeable battery.

I was really impressed with the ease of use after owning an RCA that was fiddly to work with, I was very pleased to learn that this make and model was so easy to use with good clarity and audibility. And it is so easy to transfer to the computer having a built in USB connector.

Got clear recorded voice and good size to have. A must to have when you go to meetings or any type of gathering. It fits good on my pocket and battery has lasted very well.

This is very easy to use. Almost no background noise in the recordings. Lots of storage so can record many hours. Very satisfied.

I purchased this to use with my dragon medical dictation. I do not use the provided downloadable software that came with the device even though I downloaded it after plugging it in. If you are a dragon user, you will be happy to an extent. I will dictate Into the recorder and then plug in the device. You have to open dragon first and then select the recorder. Then browse to find what you are looking for. It will be located in the recorder icon in the devices and printer section of your computer - usually the file for anything that is plugged in to your computer. Then I click on that and the files on the recorder are available to pick from. Click on the file and individual dictations are available. Select the dictation to transcribe and dragon transcribes it into the dragon pad. Main drawback is you cannot use dictation commands and really can only use punctuation commands. Also I found that if I pause in dictation and then resume, dragon gets a little confused and the typeset comes out weird or the dictation is not usable. I do spend some time correcting the document after it is transcribed to make it look better . It is not perfect, but if I am in a hurry, I can dictate on the recorder and transcribe it later. Making some corrections beats having to do the entire thing later by hand or pulling out my computer and handset just to see a couple of patients. It is not a stream less system or setup but I was able to get it working after about an hour of work. This involved the initial download of the recorders driver, the time spent setting up the recorder on my dragon user settings and getting my first dictation to transcribe. For $59, I am pleased. The overall feel is comfortable and fits well in my pocket. I have dropped it twice from standing and it survived both times. I would recommend this to another and in fact, already did.

Although I have only used this thing a few times to record in-person and phone interviews, the ease of use and audio quality makes this recorder truly stand out. The ability to directly plug the recorder into a standard USB port makes transferring files quick and easy. The microSD card slot to expand the recorder memory is also a nice plus. Overall excellent product thst produces clear audio in a wide range of conditions.

I didn't expect it to be so easy to use, especially transferring my class lectures to my surface pro. All I had to do was plug the recoder into the surface pro and it downloaded the program needed to listen to them automatically. The sound quality was actually a lot better then I expected too! You can't hear all the extra noise going on in the class which I was a little nervous about.

Easy to use, works really well. I am disappointed it doesn't have a written instruction manual, but that seems to be the case with everything these days. It is fairly simply to operate without instructions anyway, but it would still be nice since I don't like instructions on something to be downloaded. Quality and price is good.

I purchased this new Sony recorder as my old one died. This new one has greatly improved performance and now records in stereo for better sound. Simple software allows you to rip to CD to play in car. Also has retractable USB for easy plug in transfer. Super cool and now I can remember all fast talkers speech and no notes needed!

This is a nice recorder. I use it to record lectures from college. I gave it 4/5 stars, because although it records good, you cannot label your folders/recordings with a name. Because I have more than one class, it can be confusing trying to figure out what date/file a certain lecture was recorded, so I can go back and listen. Quality of the recording is great and battery life has been long.

I purchased this voice recorder to use in a Social Media Course I was taking. The voice recorder is easy to use and the sound of the MP4 play back of the recording is really crystal clear in sound. Finding each recording is really easy as they are stored in files by date. Deleting unwanted files is a breeze with on step.

I recently started recording sermons at my church. And this small yet affordable Advanced recorder can be plugged right into the PA system, recording perfect sound without pops, background noise, or irritating in and out volume levels.

I choose what digital recorder to buy carefully. Not wanting something too expensive but at the same time needed the additional features this one has to offer. I'm very happy with it. Good value all around. At first the only thing I was unsure of was the need to use interchangeable batteries, whether they be rechargeable or disposable. But having used the recorder a lot since buying it, I am very impressed with how long one fresh set of batteries will last before the battery indicator starts to flash. I use it a lot and I get nearly 2 months of use out of it before the batteries get low. Sound quality is perfect and this is ideal for business meetings. Highly recommend.

Recommended by another person, this will come in very handy for the charity websites I maintain to provide clear sound files of plenary speakers' talks for those unable to attend conferences. Great sound quality and very easy to use.

The unit is easy to operate and has extra storage to hold many songs (mp3) and voice recordings. It operates on several battery types, but when using rechargeable batteries, you need to charge them in an external charger. The sound quality is very good and is perfect for use as an MP3 player.

Great voice recorder!! Had numerous choices & this was the perfect choice! Easy to use, great playback & love that folders are easy to separate & mark as needed. Only negative is that recorder doesn't come with earbuds & pouch as advertised, but Best Buy quickly remedied that!

Worked very well in a 15 x15 room to record a board meeting. Picked up sound clearly from across the room and the playback via the USB to my computer was simple and easy.
