This is a great product that, that really makes good clear recording's and is very easy to use and down load recordings onto PC.

Bought the Sony ICDUX533BLK digital voice recorder. Great digital recorder for the money. Sound is excellent with nominal noise reduction. I like the one button repeat to help with memorization.

I am in a doctoral program and need a recorder for two reasons: 1) to record lectures and 2) to record interviews for my dissertation. This recorder is awesome for a variety of reasons, first the audio recording is clear. Second, I don't feel overly concerned when I forget to bring my backup recorder because the rechargeable batteries make it easy to plug and play. Also I love the fact that I don't have to worry too much about running out of space on the recorder any time soon because it has a micro SDHC compartment to add a few more gigs of recording time. My only gripe with the product is that the software that is PC compatible and has some added features is not compatiable with Mac despite how it is advertised on the packaging. I will say however, I had absolutely no problem plugging the recorder into my USB and syncing the recordings on the device with my MacBook Pro and the recordings are immediately recognized by iTunes. Oh! One more thing, I think the coolest feature of this recorder is that you don't have to worry about carrying around a bunch of messy cords, the USB plug is connected to the recorder and slides out of the bottom of it and plugs right into any USB compatiable device which serves as a means to sync recordings on a laptop and recharges the batteries in the device at the same time. The size is great too.

This recorder has everything going for it for my use. I am working on my history masters thesis. Central to my thesis are interviews with people who were working in social movements in the 1970s and 1980s. This recorder is small, easy to operate, has an attached USB that can't get lost because it is built in. The attendant computer program is easy to use and the recorder has been able to pick up clearly interviews with women in their 90s. This is the third recorder I tried. I am not sophisticated about audio devices, so selecting one was not easy. The first one was not sophisticated enough and the second was so complicated I couldn't figure out how to use it.. Nor am I a sophisticated tech user, but I want to take maximum advantage of what technology offers to make my work easier while maintaining a high standard. This recorder was perfect for me. I am delighted with it. It has made it possible for me to get moving on this thesis.

Easy yo use... good playback sound . Used for recording voice while traveling. Background noise of vehicle not a problem; kept it in shirt pocket to record.Especially like the slide out in bottom for recharging. No need for more cables. Good battery time.

Fo14 years I used 3 radio shack tape recorders to tape my meetings in order to do my minutes and always had to flip the tape over....had to listen for the click when it stopped to change it. I also had a hard time catching all the speakers I had to keep turning it in their directions. This little bugger is outstanding. Picks up everything and is as clear as a crystal. Excellent little product and no flipping tapes..love digital.

It was easy to set this up for my parents, and they have no issues utilizing it. My father can barely use a digital phone (but can pull apart an aircraft with no issues) and he has found it easy to use and doesn't get frustrated that it's too complex. I bought them a headset with a mic to record with and they like that it is small enough to hold easily while the tell their stories for the grandkids to listen to later.

Bought this Recorder for me to record my lecture classes and has worked out great. Works with my mac and rechargeable battery life is excellent. Also very Easy to use, I put my different classes into different folders which makes finding each lecture when studying simple and fast. I would definitely recommend to all.

I got this recorder because even though my smartphones have recorder apps, most of the time when I need to record something (in my car on the way to work) I am using the phone for other things (Waze, playing music, etc.). This recorder is small and light and easy to carry. It's easy to pull it out, slide the on switch, hit record and you are running in a few seconds. Even though the device is small, it has a lot of features. The other day, I needed to leave my office for a doctor appointment but there was a webinar I wanted to watch. I set the recorder on voice activation mode, turned it on and left. When I got back, I had an audio recording of the conference! So this device has worked very well for me. If you want a single purpose device that does the job well, check this one out.

Easy to use, just push record or stop, and it creates a new file after every stop. The same file can be kept going if pause (press rec during rec) is used. Charges from the USB on my laptop, and the battery lasts a long time. Lots of file space in the unit, and easy to transfer files to the computer. Small size, I put it in a hardshell eyeglass case. I used the unit laying on a piece of plastic foam on a conference table, and it picked up voices from the entire small conference room (about 15x20), great recording with noise cancellation. I also put it in my shirt pocket for impromptu interviews in the field, the recording was great while the unit was just left in my pocket, voices quite audible up to about 12 feet away, with no clothing rustle or noise in the recording. Excellent purchase. Totally does the job, and can actually stand-in for my conference table microphone system if I'm away from the office.

Bought one a few weeks ago. Worked so well had to get an additional, so I have one with me at all times. Works unbelievably well. Had it in my purse at a restaurant, as the table got too full of stuff, and it recorded the conversation with ease. And yes those at the table knew it was recording. I have downloaded the files with ease. Thank you for including the USB extension. My desk is a mess right now and it would be a pain to try to connect it to my computer, with the extension it is a breeze. I like the ability to record in different 'quality' . On a side note, the reviews on the paranormal sites regarding EVP pick up, is what swayed me, if it can pick up those, it must be a good recorder.

This is my 3rd Sony Digital Voice recorder purchased for my associates and I to record technology seminars as personal back-up to notes taken during presentations. I have purchased Sony audio video products for over 4 decades and this recorder is in keeping with Sony's previous performance in leading-edge technology and quality. The ability to easily transfer digital audio to Macintosh as well as PC's was important and works flawlessly.

Good quality recordings. Easy to operate. Like the fact that I can copy the recordings to my computer for easy access.

I like the combination of small size and large recording capacity. I've recorded full day seminars with no problem as well as conversations with family members I wanted to keep to document family history. I've had no issues with this device at all and carry it with me everywhere. It is easy to use and easy to download recordings to a computer.

I inspect roofs for an roofing manufacturer and this has come in very handy for when I inspect the roofs after they have been installed. I use it to record all my observations good and bad about the roof. I then play it back to enter all the information into my report to my company. It also comes in handy for phone numbers and taking information to set up inspections with my roofing contractors, usually I have look around for a pen and something to write on. This recorder is easy to use and the sound quality is great. I got this on sale as I have been looking at them for quite some time. Great buy for a great product.

I have used the recorder primarily for recording music. It works very well for this purpose. I like the fact that it has folder in which I can file similar songs or songs by different artists. This makes the organization and retrieval of songs very efficient.

What can I say. This is great. I've owned many of these from Sony over the years and I've never been disappointed with any of them. Of course, over the years they have evolved and this unit represents an outstanding achievement in a very small package. The quality of the recordings is remarkable. If you're not familiar with these units, they take a bit of patience to "learn". However, the time invested in learning all of the capabilities of this unit is well worth it. I have no complaints with the quality. It comes with earbuds as well which are quite good. The instruction manual is included in the software in the unit and this can be found by syncing the device with your computer. I purchased this on sale at Best Buy for $80 and it was well worth the price.

Works great easy to use, works well with background noises like driving, the radio and I love how the USB port tucks away plus it's like a fidget stick, great tool! Light and comfortable to carry.
