Sounds great when it works! Look elsewhere

So far, not impressed. The sound is great...when it works. So far, I've had to replace the HDMI cable and it just randomly does not turn on when the TV is turned on. I then have to spend 10 minutes trying to figure out what is wrong. I can't get the menu to appear on my TV so I just randomly push buttons until I get sound. For a $600 sound bar, I had much higher expectations. One more non-start and it's all going back.

Not what i expected..

That was the good part. The sound bar itself was less than desirable. I did not notice that big of difference from my TV speakers to the sound bar. The TV I had it set up to was a Sony XR TV.

Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.
Aside from the optional subwoofer or rear speakers, you can also adjust the sound settings of the soundbar to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You may refer to this link for more information (refer to "Adjusting the Sound and Volume Quality"):

Barely functions

Randomly disconnects, volume leveling is off, and could not adjust volume via tv remote. Tried a new hdmi cable, resetting, deleting cache, fiddling with different settings and it just continued to get worse. This was not my first choice for soundbar but I was given a deal with purchase of a tv.

Connected it to the HDMI ARC my Sony XBR49X900E TV. When trying to sync the voice to the picture using the sound bar settings I can make it worse. Seems like it needs a setting below 0. When Watching Netflix then returning to TV I have to reset the input to Cable.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We're sorry to hear some issues that you are experiencing with your soundbar when connected to your Sony TV. A time gap between the sound and picture may occur depending on the sound source. If you already set the adjustment value of the delay between the picture and sound to 0 msec but still experiencing sync issues, your TV has a function that delays the image, use it for adjustment. HT A 3000 is a fail

Both the later have better dialogue and produce better realism watching movies. And as a side not I tested the HT A 3000 on a Sony A80 J Bravia. So save your money and buy either the Sonos or the Bose you won’t be disappointed

You can make the Dialogs Clearer (VOICE). Press the VOICE to select the setting.
The setting appears in the front panel display.
[Vo.ON]: Dialog is easily heard by enhancing dialog range.
[Vo.OFF]: Deactivates the voice mode function.
Note: When the BLUETOOTH device is connected in BLUETOOTH transmission mode, the voice mode is disabled.

Center Speaker Issue with Bravia XR

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to pair with the Bravia XR X90K 4K, because of the Center Speaker option with the TV is only compatible with Sony Soundbars. When connected, there is a lot of fuzzy noise coming from the TV that can be easily heard from across the room. I contacted tech support and long story short, the motherboard on the TV needs to be replaced. Checking online, this has been a known issue for a few years, and Sony continued to manufacture and sell TVs with bad hardware, and they haven't issued a recall. Because I purchased the TV 1 year and two weeks ago, it is no longer under warranty. I cannot believe that Sony would knowingly sell TVs with bad hardware and I can'y believe that they would continue marketing the center speaker mode knowing it would not work. While my TV may not be under warranty, I can still return the soundbar and surround speakers, and I can give my money to another company. Do not buy this item if you want Center Speaker Mode.

Took two speakers to get it right.

The first one we could not hear voices very well. We did all the cable switching and remote options. We had a lot better voice audio after the exchange.

We're genuinely sorry to hear that the subwoofer and speakers are not staying connected and are not turning on when your TV does. We understand how frustrating this can be and is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. Here are some useful steps you can try to resolve it:
1- Power reset your Soundbar and Television: You need to turn off both devices from the power for 2 minutes and then plug them back in
2- Make sure your soundbar has the latest software version: Press Home on your Soundbar remote > select setup > advanced settings > software update > follow the on-screen instructions to update
3- Enable control for HDMI: Go to setup > advanced settings > HDMI settings > control for HDMI > turn on. This setting will allow the Speaker system to turn on when the TV does as long as you're using an HDMI connection between the TV and the soundbar
4- Reset the Speaker system: If the speaker still does not operate properly, reset it. You can do this by pressing and holding down the power and - (volume) on the bar speaker for more than 5 seconds
