This is a MUST HAVE if you still plan to play physical media on your console. Yes, there is plenty available for download and streaming, but as someone who has lost downloads due to crashes and can't recover films due to licensing issues it's safer to own physically. Attaching the optical drive to your system is a breeze taking no more than 2 minutes. Works seamlessly and is instantly recognized by the system requiring no sort of set up when booting up. Worth it if you plan to watch real uncompressed 4K UHD movies and series.

The drive fits nicely into the PS5 and makes things neat and becomes part of the unit. It's a drive and it works well; not much more to say other than it loads fast. I would recommend it because it matches so well.

Yes it was dumb Sony didnt include it with the Pro. At least its a piece of cake to install. Took less than 10 min and works great. Never go full digital!

Simple plug and play. Works great, looks like it was a disc version from the factory. Comes with the little plastic feet to accommodate the extra height.

I tried to fix my sons disc drive on his ps5 slim and accidentally broke it. This was the perfect replacement and so easy. Just pop the cover off, lift disc drive out, sit new disc drive in and it's ready to go. It was a very good price compared to paying someone to repair it

I bought this because the drive on my PS5 slim started to fail. While it was still under warranty, Sony requests that you send the entire system back for an indefinite amount of time--they estimated about 3 to 5 weeks. During that period, you would lose your settings, and any online game would need to be redownloaded and disc games reinstalled once returned. So, option #2, buy this. It was incredibly easy to and unlike previous game systems, the disc drive is not "married" to the motherboard. Swapping out the drive took under two minutes, setup and few more minutes and it's been working like a champ ever since. Sony did the right thing here by making the system more modular and this is a perfect case and point.

You NEED this for your PS5 pro if you have physical copies of games! Works great!

There's not much to say about this product except 1) it works and 2) I shouldn't have had to purchase this separately.

Easy install on my PS5 Pro. Comes with feet to accommodate the added height of the drive. Works as expected.

Super easy install. It is kinda loud hence the reason for 4 stars. Not use to the noise but still would recommend if you can tolerate a little bit of humming.
