I was the first in Chicago to buy a PSVR headset bundle. It is truly an amazing experience that I have waited over 25 years to experience. Get it now!

TLDR at bottom I've only used Playstation VR a couple of times at the time of writing this review, and this is the first time I've experienced any sort of VR. There are quite a few cables and connections required for setup, but the quick start guide made it very quick and easy to set up and once it's set up it's quick and easy to pick up and play. Pretty much any audio headset with a 3.5mm headphone port can be easily plugged into PS VR, it feels very light and comfortable to wear. Mine is set up in a small room that does not quite meet the recommended ranges and distances for the most accurate detection for the camera, yet it still works very good, with a slightly noticeable improvement in larger rooms. I did however, start to experience a form of motion sickness after about 2 hours of consistent gameplay and also noticed that games where your character is constantly moving in all directions like Driveclub vr, Battlezone, and Scavenger's odyssey tended to make me experience motion sickness faster or more frequently. VR motion sickness actually works in reverse to regular motion sickness, so I'd be willing to bet that people will be able to develop a tolerance for it just like I've developed a tolerance to the 3D feature on Nintendo 3DS systems to the point that I often forget I'm viewing in 3D. I feel like the quality of resolution and refresh rate / frame rate could be of better quality as these factors are known to influence VR motion sickness There are already a bunch of games that support Playstation VR and more AAA titles on the way. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, just that I wouldn't personally recommend this to a friend because I think that this is very early VR technology even for Sony, and the price isn't very affordable for a piece of hardware that's just an accessory, but as far as VR Headsets go, this is probably the cheapest decent quality one you will find. I would recommend waiting 6 months to a year for the price to drop a bit, or longer for if Sony releases a better version of this product. TLDR: Excellent product, easy and comfortable to use, Definitely room for improvement but amazing quality for price and how early this technology is, expect motion sickness, but also expect to develop a tolerance to it after continued use, plenty of titles available for PS VR and plenty more to come. Also works fine in small rooms.

I was blown away at how good this was. I was skeptical due to the horsepower of the PS4 not matching top notch gaming pcs that can run the likes of oculus and vive. I had tried a HTC vive and it was great. Again I didn't know if Sony could pull it off. I'm happy to say they did. The level of immersion and detail in the graphics is fantastic. It'll be an experience you won't soon forget. Setup is easy and there is a great demo disc so you can dip your toes Into just about all the launch games to see what you want to play. There are also a number of free games/apps on the PSN. There are multiple VR video apps that let you sit in the middle of a herd of lions or ride a roller coaster at top speed. As for the motion sickness. It's really not bad. If you're a seasoned gamer it won't affect you as much. It didn't affect me as much. You can tell it's there on certain experiences. It wears off the more your mind and body get used to the experience. I recommend this headset and think it stands toe to toe with the more expensive pc vr headsets. Enjoy and game on.

I was able to get a hands-on with the headset in the end of June and was very impressed. I tried two games, Eve Valkyrie and Headmaster, a soccer game and both were amazing. I'll let you look up the videos on each, but the device was able to handle everything without any issues. I thought about doing an in depth review, but really, other people have already done that. Basically, the device works great. I wear two different glasses, one minimal and the other larger and I had no issues with either. I was also able to correct the focus to work with my glasses. I like that you wear your own headphones or earbuds. The controller felt natural, the cable was out of the way and didn't bug me. The headset didn't feel to heavy. The only real negative was there was a tiny bit of light that crept through pulling you out of the experience and since the device is running on a 3+ year old system, it can only handle 720p per eye, meaning you can see the pixels and they act as a screen door effect. All in all, it worked amazingly well, especially for the price. I know that the Vive and Rift are better, but this system all in is only $800 and a computer VR system will run you at least $1,500. If you can afford them, get them, but the price of this is well worth it.

I happened to be lucky enough to walk into my local Best Buy on launch day and buy one off the shelf. When I got home it took about half an hour to set up and get going, and another 15 minutes to set it up again in a way that would not create a tangled mess of cords in the living room! The headset was comfortable and easy to use. Putting it on for the first time is an amazing experience. It feels as though you are put inside of the game. You can look all around and behind you. Anyone that tries the headset is immediately looking all around just to experience it. The fact that from there you get to interact with the virtual world is so incredible! Descriptions don't do it justice. It is awesome! The hardest part was creating an area to play that was the proper distance from the camera to acurately track the headset's lights. Not too difficult but for someone in a smaller space it could be tough. I would recommend being about 5-6 feet away with enough room to fully extend arms left and right. The bundle came with move controllers which I found out would need to be charged from a USB connection that supports data so I couldn't use my cellphone plug. The USB input on my tv worked fine though which was good because the camera connection requires one of the ps4's USB ports. The bundle also came with the demo disc and VR worlds. Both offer multiple scenarios to try VR games in different settings. Easy to find something to like! I was surprised that games I wouldn't usually like to play were way more fun in VR! I would recommend starting with those two discs before going overboard and buying every VR game available. If purchasing as a gift, maybe include a PlayStation gift card for addition game downloads. I think this is a great peice of tech that anyone willing to try out could find joy in, even if they don't usually enjoy gaming. It is really quite amazing.

I went out and bought this with some reservations as it is kind of hard to shock and impress me. After I set it up (it was relatively easy except for the move sticks which I had to youtube), I was blown away so much that I went out and bought all the games for it and I cannot wait for the new ones to come out. The glasses are comfortable and you get used to them quick, the graphics are crazy and the VR feel almost made me fall a few times. There are some wires to deal with but you can quickly adjust them to get them out of the way. All in all I am very happy on this investment. I am typically the type to become disengaged quickly, but this new VR set will def keep me looking for new experiences. Do it!

So far i have put two hours of play after receiving my bundle this morning. Breaks are definitely needed to avoid any discomfort on your eyes just like any VR. The Playstation VR runs great on this ps4 and can't wait to see the improvements on ps4 pro. There is so much comfort wearing the headset with easy adjustment while already on. I have not tried the Oculus or Vive but will in the near future but for now this VR is the most affordable and well worth it. The instruction booklet is large and easy to read, looks like a childs book haha. Others can watch and listen through the tv as you play. The VR worlds game is wonderful, so far The Heist is the best in my opinion. This is definitely worth the purchase if you cannot afford the others or if you do not have a pc or xbox.

PSVR is a great option for VR

I have used most of the major VR headsets and I couldn't decide which one to get. Before using the PSVR, I had a few weeks experience with the HTC Vive, and about an hour use of the Oculus. Both of those headsets are very high quality, and Vive has amazing room scale and accurate motion controls. I decided to purchase the PSVR based on the price and the upcoming software. I had read many reviews about a great screen, and how fun the games are. All of that is true and this holds up very well to the Vive and the Oculus on those facts alone. The Vive and the Oculus may handle a few things a bit better, but I believe that the PSVR offers and overall experience with VR that can be better than those two options as well, at a much lower price (factoring in the cost of a capable PC to run VR vs. buying a PS4 and PSVR). The PSVR is also much more comfortable to use. There is a slight amount of light leakage from the headset, but while in-game it disappears for me. I was very close to getting the Vive, but after playing the PSVR for a few weeks I've decided this is my best option for VR.

Good Enough for the First Gen VR for Console

PSVR is changing the way we game on console. VR has been available on PC and Mobile but now console gets to shine in the limelight. This VR headset is easy to setup and there are plenty of games to choose from. The bundle also comes with the new PS Camera and the motion controllers. A demo disc and PSVR worlds is included and it plays very smoothly. The resolution is okay but nothing mind shattering. I did experience a bit of nausea playing games where you are constantly moving such as the Luge Race or Driveclub VR, The best games to play for PSVR are the ones that use the motion controller. You feel much more immersed into the VR world. The PSVR will work on any PS4 system and requires a small download. It is extremely fun since your friends can view what you're viewing on the bigi screen and some games allow multiplayer(one player with a headset and another using the dualshock controller). Very good purchase! If you decide to buy have fun!

I tried PSVR a few times while SONY Demo'ed it in best buy stores. I liked it then, but LOVED It when I got one home. The difference: being able to calibrate it to me. WOW what an improvement. There's a lot of VR items on the market today, but SONY made the most pleasant and affordable gaming solution to date. The resolution might not be quite the same as Occulus or Vive, but with nearly no screen door effect and a lot more dollars in my wallet, this is an awesome value for the future of gaming.

PROS The VR is mind blowing, Seems to be well made and comfortable, screen has just enough resolution (could have been better)., Some nice extra features (works with media player), I hope they update for internet movie streaming. CONS The screen keeps wondering to the left thus has to be constantly reset, Setup was a bit of a pain, way too many. cables. NO 3D for movies(blueray or DVDs). More expensive than thr TV ads lead to think.. ($399 is what the ads said with the camera/move controllers) and after taxes it was $539 for a bundle (not cool people)

This is the choice for VR glasses if you have a PS4, its cheaper then the Oculus Rift and no need for a gaming PC. The VR setup is light and very comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. Beware of getting motion sickness after playing for long periods of time. It might not be a problem for everyone. Hopefully there will be more games available soon that will take advantage of the VR glasses on the PS4. But the initial games available are good enough to use the VR glasses.

The PS VR is excellent and the library of games are growing exponentially. The good: PS VR immerses players into a 3D world , not just in front of you but behind you , under you , above you. Complete 360. The price to buy these things separately is just not cost efficient. Camera = $40-60 VR Worlds = $40 Motion Controllers = $100 PS VR = $400 The bundle for all of that is $500 and if you got your bestbuy credit card 10% off a regular price coupon. The bundle is now $450. The game library is astonishing, usually when somehting is launched the games to choose from are scarce but PS VR came out with over 15 games. Now there are over 30 games available for PS VR in just a month. The bad: Can cause motion sickness. Take breaks, the gamer body might become acclimated if introduced in doses of 15 minutes at a time. Turn a fan on and have water. The initial assembly and configuring can take some time 15-40 minutes. Hint If the screen is not centered you can re calibrate with holding down option button i believe or just cut the PS VR off and on again using the white doggle hanging from the headset. Make sure the headset is facing the camera and still doing the calibration. 6 ft from the camera is the sweet spot. Conclusion: Great system and I use it at a family function and my sister got so scared she fell out her chair trying to get away from something. Get insurance people because I do just for cases like above. If you have any questions just comment and I will respond.

This device is absolutely amazing. I purchased it at a midnight event on launch day. The headset is very comfortable, sturdy and well-made. The visual effect is really stunning and can't be adequately conveyed by review videos - you really have to experience it for yourself to understand it. I did appreciate the demo disk that came with the headset - it gives you a nice overview of the games/experiences available and lets you get a feel for what the PS VR can do. Highlights include Job Simulator, Thumper, Rez Infinite and Wayward Sky. This particular bundle is probably the best deal you can get on a full system setup (minus, obviously, the PS4) - even purchasing the additional components used, it is hard to beat the price of this package which gives you all new Move controllers and Camera. They throw in PS VR worlds as well, but I have yet to unwrap that game yet as I've been so interested in the other offerings. Minor drawbacks are tracking issues with the Move controllers, but really other than a little minor shaking in the hands it's not noticeable in regular play, and it's totally worth a little jitter to have the immersion of using your hands independently in the game. The kit is definitely expensive, but you get quite a bit for your money and it's only going to get better from here. Definitely recommended.

The PSVR is pretty awesome. Easy to setup and run. Had a bunch of non-gamers try out the VR Worlds disc and they really get into it. I've been playing Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and its so cool. Very immersive. Just started Robinson the Journey and just wow. Tip: Lower the brightness on the headset to improve dark scenes.

The graphics are scaled down, but the game immersion is at another level! The headset is very comfortable. My gaming session lasted about 2hrs without any head or neck strain. I was a skeptic of VR until I went to Best Buy and tried the demo! I highly recommend testing the PSVR before buying. You have to experience it for yourself, watching other play is not enough. Some people appear to get sick (luckily I have not had any issues...yet), and other will simply not enjoy the experience. I loved it, and as soon as the demo was over I had to buy it! I have not purchased a game or system at release since the PS2, so I was impressed! The reasons I did not give it 5 stars is: 1. Price is a kind of high, so that will keep many people from purchasing. If you do not have the move controllers or camera, the launch bundle is the better value. 2. Graphics are not what one would expect from PS4 games, but I think this has to do with developers keeping the frames per second (FPS) at a steady and high rate. A higher screen resolution would have been nice too, but then the price would have probably been another $100-200 more expensive. 3. Games that are out at launch are a little...meh. I really enjoyed Arkham VR though!

Where else can you get a VR for $400 which also runs on a $300-$400 PC? Nowhere. Most comfortable headset and works well with glasses too. Only negative is the screen resolution. I would prefer a 2K or 4K display. But for the price and the amazing frame rate it's worth every penny.

PSVR is a whole lot of fun. The games work well with a standard PS4 and most should see a boost when played through a PS4 Pro. While it might not look quite as polished as some other VR hardware, it is much more comfortable and much less expensive. Highly recommended.

I was surprised how great the games look pretty good for a console when comparing to the Vive which I've tried first. Yes the PSVR /w PS4 is less powerful, and lower resolution, but the games look and play great. When playing games I see no screen door effects, and graphic look pretty good. The wands tracking can be lost when turned away from the camera. When playing video like on the VR Hulu app or Youtube you get a very noticeable screen door effect. Hopefully they can patch in a filter or enhancement like they do for the games. Sony did a great job providing many free demos and whole games at launch. If you didn't get the demo disc with the day one bundle edition, you can still download them for free from the PSN store. I have no regrets. The price is right for what you get, and Sony provided many great titles, with more to come.

I bought this for myself for Christmas along with the PS4 Pro. It's fun. There isn't much out there in the way of games, but it's new so that's to be expected. That's also why I suggest you buy the VR bundle because it comes with a couple of discs that have software demos. Some of them are quite fun or at least interesting. It feels like you're right in the middle of whatever game you're playing. Another reason to get the bundle is that you'll know that you have all the gear (camera, motion controllers, etc) that you need to start playing right away. I wear glasses and I have no problem with the headset because of that. About the motion sickness, yes, depending on the game you can get a little sick. It's also fun to play regular games with the headset. It's like playing your game on a movie theater screen.
