After reading reviews of Bose and Anker speakers, I felt best about picking this one from Sony. They rairly disappoint and they came through again with this little delight. I like the heft of it in my hand and the grippy rubber bottom. The sounds fill the room and the deep base is amazing. The angle it sits at is perfect. Pairing with my iPad mini was a few seconds process. A nice touch was that I was able to use the speaker right out of the box without having to charge it. Great overall item. Very happy with my purchase.

I was pleasantly pleased with this particular purchase. I was looking for something number 1, compact and portable, number 2, inexpensive and number 3, great sounding.Check check and check this little box does not disappoint at all and not to mention it has a long battery life. It's great for use in the home in the car and in the back yard. Works with my iPod and android phone definitely a positive purchase.

This wireless speaker was easy to set up and sounds great. I fully charged up before first use and the battery lasted over 10 hours of continuous play. Great investment.

I bought this speaker for a beach trip with my family and it was absolutely amazing. The sound was awesome and the extra bass sounded incredible. I would recommend to anyone trying looking for a small Bluetooth speaker.

I have a very loud Harley and I use this as my radio streaming from my phone's Bluetooth, and I can hear the music at 70mph and the Harley pumping out the horsepower. Great and inexpensive for the use and quality.

Seamlessly integrates with my Amazon echo dot. Powerful clear sound and the base button is an added bonus. Great all around sound.

Admittedly, I would not pay full price for this item. It lists for $100, but is usually on sale for $70. I would not pay more than $55 plus tax in the given market. That being said, the XB2 isn't terrible and for the right price in the right circumstances, it may be perfect for you. I bought a couple of different speakers and tested many others before settling on this one as a gift for my 13-year-old son. He wanted something light and portable that he could easily take with him and connect to his and his friends' devices to listen to music when hanging out, doing homework, etc. Although I always want to buy higher quality items, especially in the audio/visual department, my son reminded me that I am an audiophile (his words, but his point is well-taken: I'm a musician/producer), not him. He said he would be satisfied with something smaller and less impressive than me and would rather have me use the difference in price for another gift he wanted—logical kid. And he does seem satisfied with the item. He wasn't looking to blast music out of it or fill the house, so the clarity and volume is fine for his purposes. - Physically, the unit is solidly built; heavier than expected - Although smaller than many Bluetooth speakers, it is well balanced and with little suction cup-like feet, it stays put well enough - Unlike many speakers in this price/quality range, this unit is water-resistant (a significant feature depending on how/where the speaker will be used) - The sound is pretty clear, though it isn't a wonderful representation of the recordings, it is clear and tonally balanced well enough not to be distracting to sound nerds like me, and plenty well for most listeners - As you push to the volume's upper limit, it does get buzzy, especially music that is mastered to be louder (a lot of new music, especially) - The "extra bass" feature is about the same as on any other: although the bass seems more present in the mix, it tends to make the overall tone "muddy"—but it isn't terrible and most people will still appreciate it who love bass - Bluetooth functionality works great—no dropouts or unexplained disconnects; connects quickly and easily

The speaker lasts a good amount of time, it connects to devices with bluetooth easily, it is loud but clear and with good bass, doesn't take up much space yet fills a large area with the sound it produces.

I made a trip to my local Best Buy store with the intent to purchase the new waterproof Braven speaker for $99. When I arrived, I gave all the wireless Bluetooth speakers a listen, compared prices, weighed the importance of waterproof against splash proof. Ultimately, I settled on the Sony SRS-XB2 for the sound quality, and a price I couldn't argue with. For $69 I got a compact, sleek housing that produced clear, rich sound with fantastic bass. This unit outperforms even most portable Bose models (I own one) in regards to sound production. I also decided that the waterproof rating of the Braven model was not something I absolutely had to have. Overall, I am so impressed with this model and have used it nearly every day in various settings. It even has the option to pair a second speaker to create true stereo sound, which most competing brands don't offer. The battery life is the only thing that leaves more to be desired. Even so, it offers a solid 6-8 hours of playback on one charge. And for the quality of the sound and the volume that it produces, I can live with that.

Love this! Connects via bluetooth to my workstation. I can place the speaker anywhere in my house and even in the yard and hear my playlist. Battery recharges just like a cell phone's. Easy initial set-up. The speaker can put out a lot of volume. Sound remains good even when it is loud. The extra bass is a separate button that you can push if you want some extra oomph. Love the color -- the box says "red," but the speaker is actually orange. Highly recommend!

This speaker is great. It packs good sound quality in a small and sleek body design and at an affordable price. It was extremely easy to pair with my phone and I love the extra bass option. The only negatives are I wished it was a little louder to the point where my ears are bleeding and the power cord is very short at approximately 2 feet long so I can't charge it while it's on my dresser because the cord can't reach the power outlet. To me, Sony makes speakers that are just as good as the other companies but at a lower price.

Got it on sale for $69 and had a gift card on top of it. I played with the floor model and various other similar brands. I was a bit reluctant because the floor model had a lot of vibration in the sound. I realized it was because people playing with the floor model blasted it on the highest volume setting and damaged it. I use this in door and even at half volume it sounds clear and loud enough. I do not go beyond 3/4 max volume. It has nice base and does not sacrifice sound quality to achieve it. I use the speaker phone option to take phone calls. Streams music with high quality. Pairs quickly. Lasts long. Charges quickly. If I see it on sale a second time, I will buy another to pair it for Left and right surround sound or maybe multi room use.

I love the speaker. The volume works great for my apartment. It's lightweight and easy to move around. The charge stays for days with regular use. The only issue I have is that there is no next button to control the music so you actually have to use your phone to do so... Kind of annoying if your device is in another room (mostly on the charger in my case). Other than that sound quality and size are perfect, great quality for a great price!

I bought this speaker last year on Black Friday and it has been the best $50 speaker anyone could buy! The sound quality is amazing. You can boost up the bass for extra deep sound on the low end, or turn that feature off for crisp clean sound. It gets ridiculously loud and I even take it with me sometimes to play disc golf and listen to music outside. Great speaker!

I was initially looking for one that I can use for my cubicle at work. $70 was the perfect price point for work purposes. I was very surprised how good the sound is and how loud it gets. When I went on vacation, I took this speaker home. I tried in my bathroom while I showered. Because the bass is that powerful, the speaker moved on me to the edge of the counter. So, be careful where you place it. The battery supposedly can last up to 12 hours per charge. I tried it and it is almost that long. I am guessing, it is based on the usage (how loud). I also tried this as a speaker for my laptop playing iTunes music. It's awesome! I liked it a lot that a week later, I purchased another one to give to someone as a Christmas present. And he loves it! On a side note, you can buy 2 and use as left and right speakers.
