Don't feel like you HAVE to buy the RS5, but if it is in the budget, get the RS5. You'll thank me later. If the A7000 soundbar was only $300 more expensive than the A5000, I definitely would be rocking these speakers and the A7000. These rear speakers for me is a must. It just gives a much better listening experience. I definitely knew I was sticking with either these or the RS5 once I hooked up the RS3.

Sony Receiver Needed - Compatibility issue resolve

Apparently they are incompatible with my Sony soundbar that I purchased a little over a year ago from BB under the impression that it was the best Sony soundbar at the 1400.00 price point. I pulled up the model number from my best buy app and showed this to the salesman as I inquired about the speakers and he confirmed the compatibility and reassured me that the 3.1 designation on my unit meant that I could use the soundbar and these 2 speakers as the 3 and the subwoofer utilizes the .1 designation. Of course this is a little frustrating but ultimately its a shame on me for spontaneously purchasing these without doing my homework. Sure I can return them and get my money back but now i am so curious to hear them and have them integrated into my system that I am looking to get the 7.1.2 Receiver that Sony makes because I do not want to be in another situation any time soon that doesn't allow me to connect speakers at will.

The SA-RS3S wireless rear speakers are designed to be paired with the Sony HT-A7000, HT-A5000, HT-A3000, and HT-S2000 Soundbar models, and the STRAN1000, STRAZ1000ES, STRAZ3000ES, STRAZ5000ES, STRAZ7000ES A/V receiver models. Pairing these speakers to any other soundbars or receivers is not supported.

This will not make the voice louder.

Complete my home theater system

Even at max, effect very subtle. If you can place very close to where you’re watching it’s great sounding. Ours are placed more to the back of room where they lose some punch. If you buy, find a sale as would definitely not be value at full price. Got mine open box saved >$100. Paired easily nice quality materials, small and unobtrusive.

To ensure sound is being output from both the speaker system and the optional rear speakers, press the IMMERSIVE AE to turn on the Immersive Audio Enhancement function, the speaker system upmixes audio signals, and sound is output from all speakers. For this, you may refer to the guidelines below:
• Depending on the combination of the setting of SOUND FIELD and input signal, surround sound processing may not work effectively. The surround effect may be subtle, depending on the program or disc.
• To play multi-channel audio, check the digital audio output setting on the device connected to the speaker system. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the connected device.
You can also set the speaker distance from your listening position and their output level, etc. to obtain the best possible surround sound.
