I wanted to make this purchase so that i could create a small collection of high quality 4k HD and bluray dvds without spending a bundle on the player. This player has great features including apps like Netflix and others that could be utilized without switching inputs as well. The size is perfect as it fits with my other electronics without taking up space. The sound and color quality is fantastic. The brand is a company i know and trust. Im happy with this product.

I had been using an Xbox one for blue rays and while it did the job adequately, this dedicated blue ray player does the job way better. I had grainy issues on some of my movies on the Xbox but on this Sony it's extremely clear and paired with my LG 4K tv and Sonos Arc+Sub I finally feel like I'm getting the visual and audio experience that I've been wanting. I bought it on a great best buy deal as well so the price was great but even if not on a deal the price is very fair especially when compared with some of the other similar offerings by Panasonic for example. I've had no issues with stuttering or any issues at all for that matter and can confidently recommended it for all your blue ray needs.

I was apprehensive at first because of the other negative reviews I've seen on this website. However I have not experienced any of the problems they are talking about. I watched multiple 4K ultra HD movies and experienced no issues. I however ended up purchasing an open box item while they were on sale so I got mine for under $120 but the unit looked brand new. I went ahead and got the geek squad four year protection because of the other reviews in case anything goes wrong with the unit. As other reviews state the manual switching for Dolby vision is 88, annoyance as people who are less technically inclined might not know which movies are adopted with Dolby vision so you have to switch it on and off depending on the content you're viewing or it will skew the picture. There really aren't that many other options in this price range so for th I'me price I paid I would recommend this unit if you're looking for a ultra HD 4K player. I have not used it for any upscaling or apps as I only watch discs with it so I can't say anything about those. It has great picture quality good blacks but most of the issues I found come from the 4K ultra HD disk adaptations themselves as it's difficult to have a movie displayed with HDR content when it was only filmed in standard dynamic range so older movies have a hard time with that however that's a TV issue and old technology meshing with new technology problem.

It's amazingly small (half the size of the DVD player it replaced) and does a great job at displaying 4K and Blu-ray content via my home theater AVR and TV. My only gripe: the remote is so very small a human male cannot press the buttons accurately. Overall, I am very pleased.

I like it. Plays all DVDs and looks good. No back lit remote. Easy hook up. Only use it for DVDs, not for streaming. Fits perfectly under my TV.

I was looking for a low-cost Blu-ray UHD player and found this one. It was the right price, works well, AND streams. To top it all off, it was low profile and fit under the TV.

Great swiss knife style 4K player: best price for getting HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, and playing and upscaling with great image quality. Deducting a star because: The player froze up with my only new 4K disc and a bluray disc. Then it got better, used it constantly and no more "freezes". I will updated if needed. DVDs and CDs: no problem at all. Dolby Vision: Needs to be toggled manually, and you should not keep it on since it would distort non-Dolby Vision discs.

I purchased the UBP-X700/M to pair with my new LG C2 Evo 65". The playback of the UHD Blurays I have is outstanding. The player was very easy to setup. I have not explored the apps because I have a Fire TV stick and a Fire Recast box.

I previously purchased the X800M2 for my living room tv and it performed great. I didn't need as robust an option for my basement tv so I purchased this one. It has both dolby vision and atmos. The menu options are easy to get to so switching to dolby vision for any 4k discs is easy. I've played regular blurays in it and they look good. Even though I have an LG tv, it integrates well with it.

I needed a high quality disk player that would work for both CDs for my component stereo system -- and for playing dvds as part of our home theater. This is great for both, with dual outputs and high fidelity audio and video.

Pretty nice little 4k ultra hd blu ray player. Have been impressed with everything so far. The only thing I don't like about it is that you cannot install any new streaming apps, you only get the ones that were included when the unit was released. (Netflix, Hulu, and amazon prime are available, but not Disney+ or Curiosity, etc...) Can just use the smart tv apps or the roku to do that, but would prefer not to always keep changing the source input on the tv. Still a nice blu ray player though.

This Sony 4K UHD player has worked flawlessly for 3 solid months with my massive 4K and Blu-Ray DVD collection. I adjusted the settings upon set up to ensure seamless performance of various 4K and Blu-Ray discs. I would recommend looking up a short YouTube tutorial on set up for this device. It will save you time and possible issues in the future. So far, no issues have been presented with this Sony player. I expect it to last for years.

Great price for a 4K Blu Ray player. Have played my DVD's and Blu Ray disc just fine. The only 4K movie I've played on it so far is T2 - looked absolutely stunning on our 70" Samsung. The audio in our surround sound setup was also amazing, you don't realize how much you're missing out on when streaming movies! They're have been reports of freezing and the like, I haven't experienced that. There is a Facebook group out there that shares settings you can make on this particular player to prevent any issues. A definite must have for your home theater setup.

This is an awesome 4K UHD Blu Ray Player sounds INCREDIBLE! Looks fantastic with even plain Blu Rays DVDs don’t look the greatest but I’m sure for a good reason this is more updated and DVDs aren’t in as high of quality a couple hiccups on Netflix just trying to open a show other than that visually and audio is great! I was pleased with what I got from this player

This is the perfect size tv for our popup camper!! It’s light weight and has a very nice picture quality.

The sound is amazing!. It feels like I'm in a theater watching a movie.

Bought a brand new 4k player to replace the LG player I had and I must say I’m so blown away by this Sony product. Sony is so reliable and worth buying. I recommend anyone that is looking for an awesome 4k player to get this Sony player.

Bought to go with my new Samsung 4k UHD 75" TV and so far am very pleased. 4K blu-rays look amazing, also played a couple of regular dvd's and it makes them look great also. Haven't done much with streaming yet but setting it up with my wi-fi was easy.
