As a grad student studying interpreting, I use this recorder on a near-daily basis and cannot say enough good things about my experience. The functionality is intuitive and easy, and the memory is wonderful. I never find myself running out of battery or memory, and I use it ALOT. The integrated USB is a great feature.

It works pretty good. it's an internal battery. I hope I don't have to change it but have it for a few weeks now. You have to plug it into your computer to charge on the usb port though.

I got this recorder for use in a courtroom setting. It does a great job picking up multiple voices, regardless of position relative to the recorder. It also does a remarkable job picking up speakers as far as 25 feet away; that was an unexpected surprise. I use it at the highest-quality setting and don't always remember to transfer the files to the computer, so the expandable storage is nice.
The rechargeable battery is a convenience. I plug it in at the end of the day, and come morning it’s ready for another day of recording. It is nice to not need a stock of AAAs at the ready. Another convenience is the built in USB connection. No more rooting through the drawer for that cable! It does its job so well, I’ll probably get another and give it to my son for use recording college lectures.

I had misplaced my Phillips voice recorder, that I could never figure out how to create a new recording, so I ran to Best Buy before my voice lesson and decided to purchase the Sony UX Digital. I showed it to my voice teacher and he loved it. It's so small and light-weight, but records beautifully and it's easy to use. The best part, is that I can charge it through the USB connector that slides in/out on the recorded itself, instead of using a USB connector cord. I plugged in my vehicle and charged it on the way. I don't have to replace batteries or worry that the batteries will run out during my performances. The recordings are very easy to upload onto my computer and they sound great

This recorder works great out of the box with minimal adjustments. The mic works great and better than most recorders out there. You do not need to attach a mic, although it has the mic line-in option. This ICDUX560BLK is an upgrade from its previous model. This has an improve menu, supports microSDXC (64gb) and built in battery. Many people complain about the built in battery that you can’t change battery on low power. Instead of changing batteries you can plug this to a powerbank and record, it will charge and function at the same time. I did find that when its done charging (full) it stops recording, it happened to me once and I need to test it again.

Use it for lectures, very lightweight, and easy to manage. This recorder is highly recommended! It captures everything that you want it to and nothing that you don’t. It is uniquely capable of recording, whether hidden or visible from those that you were recording and things that you want heard.

I record audio notes during extended car trips to Mexico. I use them to write travel guides, so it's a pretty important part of my business.
These notes are converted by Dragon Naturally Speaking into Word files. I'd been using a several hundred dollar Panasonic that was highly rated for transcription. I lost it before a trip and had to pick up something in a hurry.
I got this without many expectations. It picked up my voice when held between the visor and the roof of the car. The quality gave me a 90% transcription rate in Dragon. With the Panasonic, I was lucky to get 70%,
It is well worth the money,

Incredibly easy/intuitive to use. Good sound, sensitive recording, picks up the lecturer from the back of the room. Battery lasts a long time, also rapid-charges very quickly. Small/inconspicuous. Would purchase again.

I run the sound team at my church and we were using an older Zoom H2 recorder to record our services and then pull off the pastor's sermon to post to our church website. The Zoom H2 developed an issue that couldn't easily be fixed so we were in the market for a replacement device prior to our extra Christmas services. Opted for the Sony ICD-UX560. Impressed with the ease of operation, quality of recordings, and the process for transferring files to a computer through the built-in USB port. We are very happy so far and hope that it serves us as well of the Zoom H2 did for many years.

I've only used this device few times, but so far no issues. From full charge, I've recorded little more than few hours, but I did not see the charge/battery bar reduced. The size is compact and the material used feels not cheap and is not slippery (placed it on slanted podium surface and it did not slid down). The recorded sound quality was much better than I expected and almost too loud when synched with video file; had to adjust the volume down within the editing software. I plan to try recording with lower volume setting and see if it would make difference. Also worked well with external microphone.

I used this recorder for a school project. We were to record numerous people's responses to a question and edit the audio clips together in a neatly and smoothly. The audio was very clear, and the device was easy to use. This recorder easily fits in a pocket and plugs directly into your computer, via usb A, for charging and transferring of files.

I absolutely love this device. I purchased it after reading the reviews. I can not write as fast as my instructor can talk so I needed a way to record the lectures so that I could replay them later. This device is perfect. The voices are crystal clear when replayed. I sit towards the middle to back of the class and it is still able to record the voices very well.

I purchased this recorder for an upcoming conference I was attending. It recorded near 7 hours of lectures and still kept a full charge. The play back was crystal clear and I downloaded it onto my laptop using the downloadable app from Sony for this device. I did install a 128GB Micro SDXC Memory Card to ensure I had enough storage. Easy to use and absolutely love it!

Excellent voice recorder, it has all the functions one can want from a voice recorder at a great price. Used it recently to secretly record (Legal in the state the recording was made, laws vary by state, look it up) a meeting regarding a harassment case. Picked up everything was very clear and was over 3 hours on a single charge with plenty of battery leftover and didn't even fill up the internal memory. Playback from the device itself was not clear, but once exported to PC the playback was very clear and all the noise was cut out.

Little big personal recorder for beginners. It is easy to use and carry around, with a flashing/sliding USB charger that could also be used to transfer your recordings on your computer. It is very sleek in design and it can fit in a palm of your hands. So far I am very satisfied using it, I have mainly used it to record just my regular acoustic guitar jamups at home and the playback is great; though it's even nicer with good headphones. If you're a musician who wants to record your own random stuffs and practices at home, or if you want to record conversations between friends, small classroom lectures, or just want to play around experimenting then this recorder won't fail you.

I am disappointed that you have to go on line to get the full instructions..... and they are to me a little complicated. I have not gotten fully acquainted with this little guy yet. I think once I do it will work perfect. I am finding the instructions very veg and going on line there are pages and pages of options and instructions to read or look over. Was hoping for something easier to use . The plus is that is is rechargeable even in your car, laptop or outlet..... it is small has good sound.
