I purchased the same model a year ago that had the battery drain issue when shut down and exchanged it out for three different units and had the same issue. Loved the look and feel of the laptop but couldn't live with the battery issue. Purchased the new and improved version with the 8th Gen processor and couldn't be happier especially now that the battery drain issue is not longer an issue. Sounds like it is hit and miss though if you get a quality unit. Not having the over heating issue or the fan constantly running. If you get a good one, you won't be disappointed.

We've had this laptop for a few weeks now and have really enjoyed the build quality and speed of it. Great value when it was on sale for Black Friday.

It arrived a couple days ago. It got burning hot when it downloaded updates for windows 10 or other software. After that, even though it's in idle mode (no app, no update, no syncing email or onedrive) it occasionally got hot (not warm, but burning hot). After 30-40 minute, the speaker got affected by the heat and started crackling. Just got an exchange for a new item though I wanted to upgrade to the 15 inches version rather than trying a new 13' one. I'll update the review as soon as I get the new one. Very disappointed with HP since this laptop is considered as a top-tier one in their product line.

I got this for personal use. I’m loving it. Lot of features for that price

I decided to upgrade from my HP envy 360 with this laptop and I am so happy with the decision. It is so thin, lightweight, and the speed is really good. The only downside to this laptop is that it can get pretty hot but I purchased a cooling fan for it and everything is perfect now. Also, came with the stylus which is awesome!

No complaints so far with this 2-in-1. Lightning fast, compact for a 13+", and really fun machine to play with all around.

Got this laptop online when it was on sale and was a bit worried after reading customers complaining about heating/fan issues. Doing a system update (including BIOS update) then setting the power management to "passive" and voila, the system is cool and fan noise is almost non-existent. Would have given this a 5 star if it didn't need this small workaround!

I use my Spectre everyday for work. It has not let me down at all. It is a speedy, light-weight powerhouse. I love it

This is one of the best 2 in 1 laptop/tablets out there. Super lightweight at only 3lbs. Super thin at only 0.5 inch. Has the lastest inputs/ports with Usb3 and thunderbolt. Boots very quickly and has no problems running tasks or apps. The mouse pad is very cool bonus. I like the scrolling feature with 2 fingers.

This laptop is very light and very much convenient to go to work. The picture is high quality. Love it very much.

It is fast and light laptop, for the HP pen I didnot use it.

I purchased this recently. The spec for this is really good, I like it. However, it has two big disadvantages for me. 1. Location of finger print sensor. It is located at side not palmrest area. When you use it, the position is a kind of weird and not read well. 2. Heat and Noise. When I wrote some document in Word, it suddenly make a noise from fan and part near speaker was getting hot and hot. I do not know why it happens because Word does not need high memory at all. But it shows this phenomena sometimes. Minor thing: The design is really good and finish touching is good but mine has some small scratch on power button. I can distinguish by naked eyes. It does not related to any power problem at all thus I am keeping using this.

wanted the surface 2 in 1 originally, but couldn't see over spending for the name. this had the most bang for the buck. very nice overall, ease of operation is a big plus. I'm glad the salesman suggested this as an alternative, because I was not leaning towards HP at all. but, glad I did, so far

For context, I have been a traditional desktop or thick laptop user (big memory and CPU power). I was a little skeptical of moving to a 2 in 1, but it has proven to exceed my expectations. The sleek design is fantastic. The processing speed has not been a let down. I think there is plenty of memory, even after I load up with large Excel, PowerPoint, and media files. The keyboard works great for me. Speakers sound good and video output looks sharp. I like the writing pen. It is easy to put into tablet in tent or flip positions. One struggle has been using the finger pad instead of a mouse; trying to break the mouse habit, but I still may go out and buy one to be more efficient. Also, not the laptop, but getting Microsoft and my Apple iPhone to work effectively with Outlook Calendar and Contacts has been a major pain and unsolved at this point. Overall, great purchase.

It's a great laptop for the money. It is super fast, boots up in seconds and is able to handle any task I throw at it. On top of that it is very light, yet durable, so a great laptop to just toss into my backpack when on the go.
