I played the battlefront that came out about two years ago a lot and still have fun playing. As of his review I don't have an internet connection so I can't give a full concise review though the inter webs are laden with hate on the progression system that I hope they fix. The single player story mode is fun but short. All around it's a good enough game to escape to the galaxy far far away but I'll have to wait until I go online to reall get the gist of it.

Battlefront 1 was very good but Battlefront 2 is even better! This game has no flaws. Graphics are amazing, campaign is entertaining and the online multi player is fantastic.

This is a very fun game, both in the campaign mode where you as a single player work through pre-set campaign scenarios, and as the multiplayer online version. The graphics are great and the action is realistic. Highly recommend this for hours of good, non-graphically violent fun!! Good for kids (7 y/o + I'd say) and adults.

Beautiful gameplay with all the feel of the Star Wars universe. A fun campaign that’s mostly designed to introduce you to the heros and worlds of Star Wars, even though it could have been absolutely incredible with a little more character development and cohesive story telling. The campaign took me about 6 hours, definitely pay to play to get the loot boxes,

I had purchased the first Battlefront game and it was good to play with somebody. I am not big into online play, and I don't have PS+ so not much of the game was available. Battlefront 2, however, has a campaign for single player and so far I like it a lot. I can choose to play with someone else or play the campaign by myself. The game is beautiful as well. I feel you get more for you money with this game.

It is a fantastic game, it has incredibly detailed graphics from the Star Wars movies and it definitely lived up to the hype of the first Battlefront. If you enjoyed Battlefront 1 then you will love this one. The only issue I have with the game is that it is one dimensional. The multiplayer is phenomenal, but the campaign lacks detail and story line but I definitely recommend it.

If you are a Star Wars fan and you play video games for fun, this game checks off both of these points. Yes, the upgrading systems and crates are silly but overall, the game is fun and is one that you can pick up and play with or without the upgrades and additional things you can find in loot boxes. They really don't matter much. This game is beautiful and fun. Period.

Better than the last game ruined by Ea Microtrans

The core gameplay of this game is honestly very good. DICE honestly did a great job with the gameplay, the environments, everything. If the game's progression system wasn't completely garbage, I'd give this game a 9 or 10. I still bought this game despite the controversy because I am a huge star wars fan, but now I see the problem. The progression system was built to entice you/your children to spend money on loot boxes. It is aggravatingly slow to accomplish the challenges in the game so that you get annoyed and keep making purchases of a couple bucks. There are serious competitive advantages for spending money - which means this game has zero competitive integrity. Right now microtransactions have been turned off temporarily, but since the progression system was built around microtransactions, the entire thing is broken. To summarize, great game design and gameplay, but terrible execution by EA's execs on progression. Ruined an otherwise fantastic game

This game is amazing for any true Star Wars fan! If you loved Battlefront then you’ll definitely love battlefront 2 with all the additions of new heroes, new maps, and a brand new campaign mode. The progression system in the game is definitely flawed at the moment as it’s difficult to purchase/upgrade heroes/star cards etc. but that’s only a minor issue as it doesn’t ruin the Star Wars gaming experience. I’m sure EA is working to fix this ASAP. Would recommend to all!

The game has its problems, mostly with the progression system. The campaign could stand to be a bit better as well. However, I'm having so much fun with the multiplayer that I'm not really paying attention to the progression as of now. I understand that can be a deal breaker for many, but there is a very good game under all of that.

I am a huge Star Wars fan so I like the campaign mode of this video game. I found the flying missions were a little tough for me (because I am old and the fighters move so quickly). However, the fighting part of the game was fun and I enjoyed the characters. I haven't completed all missions yet, but I have enjoyed it so far.

This game look greats, plays well and I’ve spent more time on this game then I have on any game in awhile. There are some aspects that need fixing. AFK players make playing hero’s vs villains almost unbearable. There are some minor lag issues and the progression was a grind. But overall I would recommend this game.

The good. The game is beautiful, the level of Star Wars fidelity is extremely high and the new story mode is fantastic - especially the story itself. The bad, multiplayer is still fun, but the change to the loot crate system is pretty bad, about as bad as you've probably heard, and money transactions have been turned off while they sort it out. Hopefully, they will find a graceful way to fix it. Still a great game with one bad feature.

Although I loved the canon story, the gameplay was lackluster, just reusing all of the multiplayer mechanics and maps and adding lots of enemies to shoot at around the cut-scenes. The multiplayer, just like the last game, has amazing potential, but its ruined by the pay-to-win gambling loot box system, it makes it frustrating if you don't want to waste cash and just buy upgrades for your characters. Now the maps and attention to detail is amazing, easily the most beautiful game I've ever played, the most immersive feeling Star Wars maps to date, they achieved amazing things making every map and weapon feel exactly like Star Wars like they should, but they just couldn't make up for it with their profit first, customer service later thought process. I wanted to love this game but it leaves me feeling nothing but resentful.

Solid Star Wars Game crippled by microtransactions

This is truly a great star wars game with a fan-fare CANON campaign that lays out some very tantalizing breadcrumbs between episode 6 and 7. Sadly, as the entire internet knows by now, the game is heavily crippled by its progression system which is broken and was clearly intended for pay to win.

I am going to sidestep the loot-crate fiasco and just talk about the gameplay. Campaign is a lot of fun if you are a fan of the Star Wars universe, more for the scenery and characters you are shown than the length or breadth of the campaign (it's fairly short and mostly on rails). Multiplayer is decent, the variety in game modes is solid and allows for variety over a given session without things being too stale. So far, the biggest issue is team balance, but I would hope that might improve over time as the player base is more easily sorted by rankings. Game hasn't been out long enough for that. If you buy this game for what it is, as opposed to what it isn't, you'll be pleased. Definitely not a top 5 game of the year, but definitely solid, if not particularly inspiring.

I rented this game for an evening and spent the better part of it playing with and against my 11-year-old daughter. Once she was in bed, I played through the story mode, finishing it up in about six hours. I played online for about an hour. Couch co-op was fantastic. The story was enjoyable and had some great additions to the Star Wars universe. Online play on the other hand... I tried one space battle and one ground skirmish, which was fun save for those players that have put so much time into getting high-end character (vehicle) unlocks that were virtually invincible. It was also very disorienting as I was thrust into the middle of a battle without any idea of the objectives or score. I'm sure with some patience and more practice/time with online multiplayer that it'll become more enjoyable. In the interim, I'll continue to enjoy the couch co-op with my kids.

This game is a lot of fun to play online and solo, but the progression system is tied to loot boxes. They reduced the time it takes to earn credits and made it easier to buy characters and more loot boxes. They also temporarily disabled micro transactions

fun game that will be played for a long time. not worth the $60 new price; more like $30-40 range. definitely need online to make it worth while. campaign mode is really fun; good to see the story from the empire side. recommended if the price is right.
