Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a great sequel to a half hearted first effort. The gameplay is more fluid and multiplayer modes are more vast and entertaining. Campaign mode has been introduced and, although I personally haven't completed it, it's worth the play.

I spent A LOT of time on the first Battlefront - entirely in offline combat - and enjoyed even the most ridiculously frustrating aspects of its game play. Battlefront 2, then is the logical progression, and is, at times, even more frustrating, but just as much, if not more, fun. I loved the campaign/story aspect, and have enjoyed the new locales and fighting styles, as well as the choices you're allowed to make to really make game play your own. I might join the online community at some point, but for now, I've spent, again, probably too much time playing offline - and I've enjoyed nearly all of it.

Majority of the negativity this game received was due to the strong advantage to players who are willing to spend money on this game. Some even went as far as to state that the game would not be enjoyable if you couldn't spend the money on upgrades. This is just not true, the game is well made with amazing detail, the gameplay is spot on to what you'd expect of a Star Wars BF 2 game, and the opportunities for FREE ingame currency is plentiful. You can easily earn this money for the upgrades through Campaign, Solo play, and offline multiplayer without the worries of any unfair advantages when compared to players with the upgrades. Also as stated, those unfair advantages are minimal, most of the upgrades are slight boosts and cosmetic changes. Overall the game is fun, fair, and definitely a must have for a Star Wars gamer.

This is a great game, there was negative comments on what EA did but myself, I enjoyed the Story and I am sure if you like Star Wars you will like this game.

Finally, they added campaign mode. It was an entertaining story line but could've been a little longer in my opinion. The graphics are awesome and the gameplay is addictive. If you liked the first Battlefront you'll love part 2.

The campaign was a nice bonus, pretty good. The multiplayer now is very very good, visually stunning. Very fun, light and casual. Recommended.

So the first battlefront was a disappointment for sure. This game though fixes a lot of what was wrong with the first and adds STARFIGHTERS! A lot has been made of the card system, but really I don't find it either hard to understand or unfair. In fact I really enjoy playing the game. The starfighter missions are great, really does a lot to feel like the Rebel Alliance games in the 90s for us old timers. Don't let the reviews scare you off, is it perfect no, but it is a solid game that you will enjoy playing.

Ignore the hate about the progression and micro transactions, this is a great game with some minor flaws. Although the game finally has some offline content, it's only worth playing thru one time. Battlefront 2 is all about the online multiplayer and it delivers. Graphics, sound and gameplay are the best of any Star Wars Battlefront game. Online content currently lacks diverse modes and the classic conquest mode but there are plenty of maps, heroes and classes to create variety in this Star Wars world.

This game is GREAT. The DLC issues aside - there is so much to love about Battlefront 2!! Single player - awesome - feels like a SW movie Multiplayer - INSANE - feels like a SW battle So good!

At the sub-$20 tag, this Star Wars Battlefront game is totally worth it for the single-player storyline Star Wars saga extension, the multiplayer, and especially the sweet 4k graphics! It's a fun game, especially worth it at the price it is going for now. Loot system is the only part that kind of spoils it from a 5-star.

I like how this game has a campaign mode. The game play is smooth and the story is solid. I have not played the online play yet.

This game is a great sequel to the first Star Wars game. Game play and added characters are great. Would recommend for any age.

Gameplay is fun. Looks and sounds like Star Wars but progression is killed by the convoluted star card system and loot boxes

The campaign was actually pretty fun. I'm not a fan of the multiplayer progression system, but the gameplay itself is fun.

This game was much more that I anticipated. Still working on campaign, which is great. And the multiplayer is so much fun.

I bought this game as a gift and it was a hit. The graphics and game play are amazing. You actually get to fly a ship, that made my little guy really happy.I definitely recommend this game

The graphics are unbelievable. You feel like you are in a movie. Game play is good but the weapons updating needs work.

Ugh, EA... you got me twice. As an adult who doesn't have time to devote to online play, I was hoping that EA learned from the outcry of other players like me and had an increased focus on offline, single-player play. Nope! If anything, the selection of modes is less than the the first EA Battlefront. It's either onslaught mode or team seat match, wow! No capture the flag, king of the hill, etc. you can't even play any space-based missions in single-player. Really? And to boot, there are only six relatively small maps to play on. Ugh, the game graphics and maps are beautiful and the campaign is great, albeit very short. Too bad, looks like the game had real potential if only EA listened to their fan base. It's really not that hard EA, you have the blueprints of what a great Star Wars shooter should be -- just look at the modes and gameplay from the OG Battlefront 2. Update the graphics and add updated characters, maps, weapons and you have a hit that your fans will love instead of loathe. I'm already bored of this game and move on to something else. Two stars for the campaign mode and graphics.

The "Star Wars"ness of this game is pretty good. The moment to moment gameplay is really fun. But the progression system is quite bad. Even after EA turned off microtransactions and lowered the price of heroes, locking progression behind random card drops can be infuriating. Especially since there are so many emotes and poses you can unlock, which take away from the chance of getting cards.

This game has gotten a lot of flack for how it uses loot boxes as a means of progression, but even with that, the gameplay is still entertaining. I suggest waiting to get this until they drop the price, which is apparently planned for when The Last Jedi comes out. Hopefully they fix the microtransactions issue, which they thankfully removed for the time being, but that will require a large overhaul of how the system works. Don't expect it within the next month or 2 though.
