Due to the financial success of Destiny and Titanfall, we got this half game with no campaign. Well mark me as an unsatisfied customer that feels truly slighted. Half stars for half game. Everything else, sound and graphics are up to standard and then some in a few cases. $40 max.

I can't speak for other FPS as I don't play many, so I won't go comparing this game to the other popular shooter games. As a Star Wars Fan that loves to game, Star Wars Battlefront is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend.

Battlefront is your childhood memories of wanting to play in the Star Wars universe, from speeding on speeder bikes of the forests of Endor to crashing a snow speeder at the foot of at-ats in the battle of hoth. Fast paced easy to pick up and play controls will let you have 15min sessions or full hour matches.

First off, this game is almost completely online multiplayer. There are some solo missions to do offline, but there is no campaign. So if you don't have PS Plus (which is cheap at $50 a year), or don't like online multiplayer, this is not the game for you.
That said, this game is awesome. The graphics are beautiful and amazing, and the sounds will give you flashbacks to the movies. You can engage in combat with the Millennium Falcon, Slave I, X-wings, TIE fighters, AT-ATs, AT-STs, and snowspeeders. Playing as Luke and Darth Vader and other heroes and villains is really cool too. The blasters, the gadgets, the upgrades, the power-ups, it all immerses you in the Star Wars universe.
I don't usually play online multiplayer games, and I was skeptical of a game with no campaign, but in this case it doesn't matter. As long as you have a stable Internet connection and don't give up when you get slaughtered at first, you will enjoy this game. May the Force be with you.

Not what I expected

I loved the first two Star Wars Battlefronts on the PS2. I had high expectations for this game. Unfortunately they were not met. The graphics and sound are beautiful. The gameplay, not so much. To start, there is no single player story mode. There are only 4 maps to play on and you can choose between survival mode or deathmatch against the AI. I found the tutorial more fun than either. In my opinion the MAPs for both are extremely small, especially the deathmatch (kill 100 AI and collect their tokens to win). The game was made for online multiplayer. There are more game options (CTF, deathmatch, Domination, dogfighting, etc) for multiplayer and the 20vs20 seems to play without lag or hiccups (for now). Some of the MAPs seem a little larger for some of the games but still overall small, or at least smaller than what I can remember for the original Battlefronts. You can only go in vehicles if you get the power ups. You are not able to just grab a speeder bike or xwing and fly off, so much less vehicle interaction as well. You do get to play as the heroes or villains like in the originals. I think the biggest insult to the consumer is that you only get 4 maps to start but they are already saying that if you buy the season pass you can get the 4 expansion packs they are planning on releasing. So basically for $60 you get 4 MAPs and then for another $50+ they will allow you to play on more, which should already be included in the game like the original Battlefronts. The only thing that will keep me playing for another week or two is to level up my Rank (which you can only do online) and unlock all the extra customizations (guns, accessories, etc). After that, I'm not sure it holds much replay value (like original Battlefronts). My recommendation to those of you who where fans of the original is to rent the game or buy it used so you can return it after a week or so. Don't pay the full price as you will be disappointed.

This is game is great at what it's meant to be, a casual shooter. My son, 7 yrs old, and I have a great time playing this together and lots of laughs are shared. The visuals and sounds are second to none and you really feel like you are in the Star Wars galaxy. I love the various game modes that all feel different vs other games where they may have other modes but in the end it just turns into TDM.
I gave 4 out 5 stars because the game lacks depth and maybe some variety as all blasters feel the same. That's my only con. The amount of laughs I've had with my son and he's had with his friends that have come over is well worth the $50 i spent on it.

Star Wars Battlefront is an icon amongst gaming history. Not only does it combine the shoot em' up action of Call of Duty with the feel and looks of Star Wars, it immerses fans in a place where they can truly live to see the Saga unfold, right in their own living room. So, when Disney announced Battlefront would return, my heart just leaped for joy, But, when I got the game, my expectations were only half filed.
The game's main issue is the lack of a single player campaign. No, those Modern Warfare 2 Operations style missions don't count. I was hoping that players could get a chance to play in fights in between the movies, maybe even add some new stories to the new canon. But, that didn't happen. EA, please, stop acting like its all about the money and give us a game that has EVERYTHING we need, not some expensive DLC that should have been included with the game in the first place. YouTube has proven that's all you care about.
The graphics though, I mean WOW. These are literally the best graphics I have ever seen, especially on the PlayStation 4. It looks super real, it feels like you're in the Star Wars universe, and it just boggles my mind how good it looks. That alone is definitely worth the buy.
In terms of multiplayer, it is still enjoyable, and I will admit that its better than Call of Duty's for the most part. But, I do wish there were more customization options, like maybe a player could customize the look of their Stormtrooper armor or something. Also, there's not much options on the Imperial side other than carbon copies of the Rebel's options with armor and no helmet. That and the aliens on the Rebel side have more than one standard look. Maybe that could be added in later.
The controls are easy to use, and there are plenty of options. In my personal opinion, I would get Battlefront just for the multiplayer. There is no single player campaign, and I'm hoping EA learns that for Battlefront II's reboot. Its no redeemer like the Force Awakens, but it can still partly hold up.

Battlefront is a great game that captures everything that's awesome in the Star Wars universe. The sights and sounds are on fleek. The familiar sound of a blaster and the unmistakable hum of a lightsaber are all perfect.
Visually it is stunning Endor and Hoth have never looked better in a video game. The lighting on Endor in particular is very pretty and it got me killed a few times just admiring its beauty.
If I had one complaint it would be that there is no single player campaign. They could have created quite the spectacle using the FrostBite engine and all the assets the painstakingly created for this game.
I knew this before hand though. It's a fun game with a number of game modes to check out, the stand out being Walker Assault. If you're a Star Wars fan and enjoy Online shooters then I'd definitely recommend it.

The only reason this game is decently good is because of Star Wars. That being said, I still had a lot of fun with tons of hours being sunked into this game. No campaign is a huge downside, and there is little actual content for a AAA base game. Still, fighting alongside your friends hearing the immersive sounds of a tie fighter flying by and seeing the beautiful graphics of the game makes battlefront a great Star Wars experience, yet not much of a long lasting game.

Lack of content?

Before I start, I understand the backlash this game has been receiving due to its lack of content. Its obvious they cut off so much to sell as DLC. Now I enjoyed this game and believe me I have put at least 20 hours into the game and I'm still loving it. The feeling of getting kills with the Millennium Falcon or Slave 1 is absolutely satisfying. The sound and graphics are just so beautiful. The stages despite being only a few do deliver the atmosphere of Star Wars. Basically, if you are a Star Wars fans, I'd say go ahead and pick it up.
Now why 4 stars? There were a couple of glitches but its eventually going to get patched. And of course, they could have done more with the customization of weapons. Why not have the option of adding scopes or even cosmetic looks? They could improve.
Overall, its a game to keep you satisfied until the next big shooter comes up which happens to be what?????

As the title states this is a must buy for any star wars fan that enjoys games aswell. great graphics & great sound effects feels like you are in the world of Star Wars. the base game does have an issue with a lack of base content which is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 but still a great game.

Battlefield meets Star Wars 'nuff said. Visuals are stunning, weapon sounds are authentic, and it's just a blast to be inside the Star Wars universe as a soldier who's fighting the war whether you're on the good side or the dark side.! Multiplayer completely takes the cake when it gives you the chance to operate all the different vehicles in-game plus use the force that turns the tides on your opponents as they tremble before you! Ha so may the force be with you!!

It's a good game, but is lacking a lot of substance, especially when compared to the old Battlefront games. The multiplayer plays really well, but there is no campaign and very few heroes. However, the graphics/music really draw you in to the Star Wars universe.

Best sound in a game I've heard in the past decade, good visual , casual easy to pick up gameplay but very poor level of replayability due to the meagre amount of content. Hopefully after all the DLC's are added the game becomes worth the price tag.

I normally don't buy first person shooters...mostly because I'm not the best at them and it's frustrating to get killed with one shot 10 seconds after respawning. I'm also not a huge Star Wars fan...but this game feels different than a normal Call of Duty type game and the Star Wars theme helps bring that out:
1) The graphics are great and you really feel as if you're in these different worlds and playing the role of the rebels or the empire.
2) Sounds are great too...the lasers, the ships, the voices, the vehicles...all put you right there.
3) Gameplay...you don't normally die right away, usually you can dodge and run and heal up from gun fire...so for beginners this helps and it's less frustrating for low level players like me. There are enough trees, ice, buildings, rocks, corridors, etc. to hide in...so you can really sneak up on others...and keep yourself hidden enough to hunt others. While I've seen a lot of people trash it for not having a good single player mode or not enough missions...the multiplayer has quite a few different modes to switch things up and keep it interesting...especially if you play with friends online, it's a ton of fun! Never gets old to playing as Darth Vader and "choking" a friend, raising him in the air, and tossing him 50yds to the side, lol. Love this game!

I don't typically play games like this, but being that Star Wars began when I was a kid, this game was a must when I finally caved and purchased my PS4 at Thanksgiving. The graphics on this game are amazing. The action is fun. It's not a game, like Madden, that I can just sit down and play mindlessly, thought. Maybe that's because this is my first foray into a shooter game like this in over a decade. I really have nothing to compare this game to, so I can't say if the missions are limited or vast. I am still trying to figure that out, thus the reason for my only giving it 4 stars. But if you are a Star Wars fan, I think this is probably something that should be in your gaming library, even if just on principle alone.

I love Star Wars Battlefront. It was great timing with the new movie and they really did an amazing job with the graphics and sound effects which are extremely familiar to the original movies. I'd like to see more Force Awakens content but I love the focus on the OT rather than the prequels. The game itself is fun with a heavy multiplayer focus.
