    Blu ray strikes back

Star wars 4k? Is it any better than blu ray or DVD? Yes and no. It's better than DVD hands down. But it varies with blu ray. Some scenes are better on 4k HDR some are better on blu ray. If you want to build your 4k collection this one is not going to let you down as it also comes with blu ray. But if you just want better picture quality, this won't be that much better overall.

When this Blu-ray steelbook was on sale for 9.99 on May 4th, you couldn't pass it up even if you own the original trilogy on Blu-ray already. the collectable steelbook is worth the price of admission for 9.99. However, be warned. The extras are scarce on these and no Digital Copies at all. This set is very bare bones. Only get this edition if you want the collectable packaging or if you must own everything Star Wars.

This whole steel book collection is amazing and so unique. It's well worth getting separate movies than the box set.

    The Best in The Franchise

I think most will agree that Empire Strikes Back is hands down the greatest film in the Star Wars franchise to date. Filled with great special effects, a beautiful score that first introduced the now famous Imperial March, and character arcs that still shake audiences to their core as this was the first time we ever saw heroes lose. With that said, the 4K transfer of this film is gorgeous and presents the film in the greatest format it’s ever seen. While the special features of this release are identical to past releases, the 4K Upgrade makes this with the investment. My only complaint is that I wish they’d also included the original, unaltered version of the movie as it was originally released in theaters before George Lucas did the special edition version with the added cgi and digital effects.

Great movie and the 4k update looks good. Was originally worried about how it would look compared to other movies that had been updated.

Star Wars for me it's like the source of all sci-fi adventure movies; But in 4K HDR is awesome. Audio either was remastered or recovered from the original tapes, and sounds amazing.

The original trilogy shines in 4k and at times is stunning. Some minor things in the grain and noise reduction but overall amazing.

It's a basic 4k ultra disk says it has dolby atmos and dtsx I think you need a Compatible reciever which is another story I'm just playing it through a xbox x and a old yamaha aventage reciever and new sony x90j 4k tv. Looks and sounds good would probably be better with a reciever that has dolby atmos and dtsx and 4k inputs and outputs with 4k and 120 refresh rate and a 4k blu-ray-player with dolby atmos and dtsx and 4k and 120 refresh rate lol.

This is proof that 4k is worth it.. 4k and hdr enabled, this is a huge step up from the old blu-ray. Color timing/palette is correct, no teal tinting. Sound is exceptional. My system is 5.1 only but with a compatible receiver and it is worth the upgrading. I wish the original 1980 release was included, but the new changes are largely well done too.

This 4K transfer of what is likely the best Star Wars film is solid, if unspectacular. This may be attributed to the original photography, which is often much darker than the other original films. The transfer was also done by Disney, rather than Fox, who worked on the transfer of New Hope. That being said, it's the best the movie has ever looked. The audio is also quite solid, though you get no new special features. Ultimately, if you're a Star Wars fan, there is no question you should pick this up.
