    Gaming without the bulk

If you're looking for comfortable earbuds with good sound quality and great connectivity, this has been a game-changer in my particular use case. For streaming I wear a hat so over the ear headphones are a no-go, so I picked these up as a replacement for another brand that was dying on me. The connectivity and sound quality are top notch. The buttons on the earbuds themselves took some getting used to, but it definitely beats the touch sensors in other offerings when you want a tactile 'tell' for using features. Battery life and charging have both been superb, and they really ARE comfortable. Having different ANC modes helps when you're gaming but still want other people to be able to communicate with you. The microphone quality is very good, certainly good enough for gaming use. The compact form factor and unobtrusive dongle are major pluses as well. All in all definitely worth the purchase!

My Arctis GameBuds X Review After months of use

The Arctis GameBuds X are true wireless gaming earbuds with clear sound, active noise canceling, and long battery life (about 10 hours per charge, 40 hours with the case). They’re lightweight, comfortable, and can switch between 2.4GHz wireless for gaming and Bluetooth for phones. The best part is the Xbox version: its dongle has a switch that lets it work on Xbox, PC, and PS5. The PlayStation version only works on PS5/PS4/PC, not Xbox. Pros: Good sound, long battery, ANC, easy switching, Xbox version works on all systems. Cons: ANC and mic are just okay, can’t mix Bluetooth and dongle audio at the same time. Verdict: A great choice for gamers who want one pair of earbuds for console and PC—especially if you get the Xbox version.

    Frustrating constant connectivity issues

Writing my review after over 6 months of ownership. I really want to like these, they're very comfortable and well built, they feel like high quality, and the sound quality is well above average. The ANC is pretty mid and make a weird whistling sound while on. Transparency mode is good and works as intended. Unfortunatly I may have gotten a bad pair. in my experience it's been constant connectivity issues from the very start. When I go to use them with my Xbox, I'll take them out of the case, put them in my ears, Xbox will say "headset assigned" but I will have no audio or microphone functionality. I'll put them back in the case and repeat this a few times but most of the time I'll get maybe one side working or nothing at all. The only way I've found to sometimes fix this is to unplug the dongle and plug it back in. You also have to make sure your phones Bluetooth is off otherwise it won't output any audio even when I double check and verify it's on 2.4 mode. After all that and I finally get audio it's a Gamble on if the microphone will work. Most of the time if I have audio the mic works but recently I've been encountering an issue where the mic just flat out stops working even when I have sound. But if you get lucky and have both audio and the mic working sometimes one side will just randomly cut out and be completely unresponsive even if you put it back in the case and take it back out. Other times they'll just randomly turn off and turn back on when they feel like it and then you'll run into not having audio or a mic anymore and have to troubleshoot and restart the whole process all over again. This is just so disappointing because they could be perfect, they have a great form factor, they very comfortable and have great sound when it works. I've been waiting so long for someone to come out with a set of wireless earbuds for Xbox and these couldve been so great for that. Unfortunately bad software has caused them to be in my experience a poor and frustrating user experience.

I was initially skeptical about ear buds for gaming as someone who primarily used over ear headphones. The quality with the 2.4 reciever is fantastic though you cant have super loud audio. The companion app adds alot of customization. The only ossues are common wireless headset issues such as random loss of connection or issues with audio desync when you are walking. Also a sid note when using yotube if the video is low quality while using the 2.4 reciver the low quality is much more noticeable so be wary of that Otherwise these are fantastic multi use headphones.

These ain't it.. Compared to the Asus Cetra SpeedNova, no contest. The only thing the Gamebuds have going for them is the game profiles and a slight comfort level. Sound is what matters. The Gamebuds sound laughably low compared to the SpeedNova. The ANC also isn't up to par. I would rank the Gamebuds third in terms of gaming earbuds.... 1- Asus Speednova, 2- Sony Explore, 3- SS Gamebuds. I need my game buds to be loud and punchy. I'm just not getting that with the Gamebuds. The Gamebuds have a slightly more controlled/refined sound, but also sound whisper quiet in comparison to the competition. I need my music to over power my TV in the background with/without ANC, these don't do that. If I'm listening to Rock at volume. I shouldn't be able to hear a casual YT video of a product review playing on my TV/laptop. If you value your hearing. I guess it's not much of a concern :) The dongle and 2.4ghz tech is just okay.. Depending on your environment you'll get that SS metallic/robotic interference noise from the 2.4ghz connection. In dual mode, the phone takes over and cuts out sound way too often.. Dual mode needs a lot of work, and will cause complete disconnects (yes my firmware is up to date) probably a good idea to disconnect BT after setting sound profiles. I would recommend these overall. I think they're comfortable; but ear tips could be better. I don't think they're quality. I think third party ear-tips would provide better noise isolation. The sound is good, but if you're looking for loud and punchy, look elsewhere. Good battery life from the case and buds. Nice first attempt by SS.

    Great Versatile Earbuds

I bought these to replace my Logitech G935 gaming headset. The G935s started to have a problem with powering on the first time. Sometimes well more than the first. I'd been looking for something I could use with my PS5 and PC. I also travel with a laptop from time-to-time and use the headsets with it. Since I have been using my AirPods Pros for a while with my phone I thought I'd look for some in-ear option for gaming. First a shout out to BB for always being there when I need/want something! Great price and ordering online and picking up in the store was a breeze. The main reason I bought these was the ability to connect to the PS5, PC and my iPhone. It does all of that. What I didn't know was the extended battery life these have. I've used them throughout the day for the past two days and have not managed to get them below 25% in a single use. My first connection was with my iPhone. Followed the instructions and was connected immediately. I had looked at a number of reviews and noticed all had said to turn off the limiter in the app. I haven't listened with the limiter on, but it gets very loud with it off. I've used these in Warzone with my phone and it has made the game much more enjoyable. Footsteps are very distinct and the sound is very immersive. I've also watched some videos on YouTube on listened to music. I'm debating on if these will become my everyday earbuds. I have used the mic in phone calls and was told it sounded good. I have not used it in-game or recorded it. Next was on my PS5 to check out the 2.4Ghz. They were very easy to pair and within minutes I was playing COD: BO6 and these truly shined. I clearly hear and distinguish the locations and types of sounds. The G935s were very good, but this is on another level. Lastly, I connected to my laptop. We're traveling so I thought it'd be a good test. They quickly connected with the GG software which seems really good, so far. Overall, these are a good option for me so far. I like the convenience, the long battery life and really good sound. I would recommend these if you are looking for great earbuds for gaming.

Let me start by saying that I generally despise earbuds because they seriously lack in every single way possible acoustically. Unfortunately I am a migraineur with Trigeminal Neuralgia which means that I can no longer wear headphones because they put pressure on the trigeminal nerve and trigger my migraines. I looked at several brands of in ear headsets and read reviews before coming across these gems. I know Steelseries from other products I own and eventually decided to take these over the ROG set due to the incompatibility with the PS systems. I have been listening to many different styles of music for about 3 hours now, only using about 2% of the battery so far (with the sound processing and active noise cancelling running) and I am impressed. The clarity is impeccable, distortion is undetectable, highs are crisp, lows are punchy, mids are resounding, vocals are clear and understandable even at high volume... The 3D emulation is precisely on point and executel perfectly. This was only on the bluetooth by the way... I expect that the 2.4Ghz digital connection will be even more incredible. As someone who was expressly AGAINST earbuds for ANY audio, I highly recommend these, if for nothing else than to listen to music with. Gaming will be at a whole new dimension.. The app is a fantastic touch as well for keeping track of charge, e.q. settings, and other tweaks and customization settings. Highly recommend!

If you wear glasses or prefer earbuds over earcups, the Arctis Gamebuds are some of the best available. SteelSeries really knocked it out of the park on their first go. Not only do they sound great for gaming, but they’re also really good Bluetooth earbuds in general. Comparable in audio quality and features to higher end models like the AirPods Pro and Beats Fit Pro. Fit and finish are really good and they are some of the most low-profile earbuds I’ve worn. Controls take some getting used to as they involve button presses, and bass response is highly dependent on EQ settings, but everything else, including its stacked feature set and battery life, make up for it.

I recently tried the SteelSeries earbuds and was impressed by their audio quality and the excellent app that allows for extensive adjustments to settings. The compatibility with various devices is a significant plus, making them versatile for different uses. However, I encountered some issues with the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). It wasn’t very effective for me, and at times, especially with heavy bass, the right earbud would buzz when I had the volume at 70%. The distortion was distracting, but I found that turning off the ANC or keeping the volume lower resolved the problem. Overall, while the audio performance and app features are fantastic, the ANC could use improvement. If you're not reliant on ANC for your listening experience, these earbuds could be a solid choice.

Pros: + Bluetooth 5.3 & 2.4GHz connectivity + Includes a USB-C to USB-A adapter + Toggle ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and transparency with the push of a button + Clear phone calls to listen and Cons: - Custom EQ presets requires modifying via Sonar software on computer I'm not typically a big fan of in-ear headphones. I have used the likes of JBL, Pixel Buds, and other types that would never stay in my ear. I have had great success with these! The first use of these after a full charge in 2.4GHz mode (connected to a desktop PC) lasted me about 13 hours. This included listening to music, gaming, watching social media vids, and more. I'll be testing in bluetooth mode soon to see how they fair, but first impressions are great for these GameBuds!

I originally bought these for streaming because my over ear headphones don't play well with beanies and VR. I popped them in and loved the sound quality and comfort. Worn them through a 6 hour stream and had no ear fatigue. The bass is a little lacking, but overall i am thoroughly pleased with the purchase.

I own the arctis nova pro wireless for my pc and after getting these i barely use them. Yes, the audio quality isnt as good as the nova pros but im not expecting them to be as good as those for a much lower price tag and smaller drivers. What I like the most about them is that they're lightweight and my ears dont feel fatigued after wearing them for hours. Sonar or the mobile app is the most important thing about these earbuds. You install the app on your pc or mobile device and you can create EQs as well as use premade EQs for specific games. My only issue with them is every now and then the earbuds will disconnect from the dongle for a few seconds then reconnect. I'm sure software updates will help in the future.

The best gaming/music airbuds on the market at the moment. Custom Bluetooth or usb-c connection. Sonar technology blocks out all unwanted noise, helps you hear quality gameplay so you don’t ever question a certain function in the game. you can switch functions from a variety of game settings made just for a specific game. Best bang for your buck. Very satisfied and will be looking forward to future inventions by steel series.

They have good capabilities and an easy setup app. Tech is new. Anc works. Mic picks up my voice at a talking volume. Sound quality is MID tho. Like absolutely middle of the pack audio. Not above at all. Bass is not amazing but its good enough for your average gamer to enjoy these. I wouldnt put these over a real gaming headset yet. But with updates and improvements its so possible that I could. Make me a $250 dollar pair with bose level audio and a very easy mute button for mic and then we are talking. Also could fit a little better in ear but I’ve definitely seen worse fitting ear buds. Button shortcuts are pretty good tho. Have to learn them
