    Terrible Wireless Range/Dongle

I game on PC and PS4/5 and was looking to upgrade from an Arctis 7(2017), which still works great. I was looking at the Nova Pro Wireless, not really in my budget, when I saw that the Nova 7 just came out. Since I have had such a good experience with the Arctis 7, I decided to give these a try. The headset I received was terrible. The audio constantly cuts out and gets distorted. This happens when I'm only like 3 feet from the wireless dongle, sitting at my PC. When I get about 10 feet or more away the audio cuts out completely and the headset would disconnect from the dongle. This is after updating to the latest firmware and trying to reposition the dongle, just in case it was getting interference from some other devices. No luck, this is totally unacceptable in a $179 headset. Thinking this might be a defect in the specific headset I received I returned them and got the Arctis Nova 7x, prefer the game/chat wheel over the side tone. Same exact issue with that headset. I don't know how this headset gets such good reviews. I have never had an issue with my Arctis 7(2017) headset. I can walk into another room of my house and still get crystal clear audio. So SteelSeries definitely messed something up with the design of the wireless dongle.

Huge let down, awful performance, & worse software

Overpriced trash. Mic barely works, software is horrible and requires endless troubleshooting, and the stock ear pads are incredibly uncomfortable. This is a waste of money and I would urge you to not buy in to all the high praise. You can buy a much better non-gaming headset wireless or wired and simply add on a stand alone gaming mic/mod-mic and your experience will be MUCH better and CHEAPER. Working Software, Good Sound Quality, and a decent Mic are the minimum I expect for $160+ and they can't even manage that.

Disappointing Evolution of the Arctis 7.

Headset quality itself is great. Arctis 7 was a generational headset with it's hardware features for 2 audio channels (chat, game). However, now you're forced to use the "Sonar" software, forced to register for an account and provide your personal information, and its super bloated with worthless extra features that run in the background. I was exclusively buying Arctis 7 headsets over and over, and recommending the product to friends, but 3 out of 3 of us have now been forced into this extremely sub-par Sonar experience that has caused endless issues and hours of troubleshooting. I'll be returning this and moving away from the product line until I see a reason to return to it.
