I tested this personally over a weekend against the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay, SteelSeries 7P, EPOS H3Pro Hybrid, Corsair Virtuoso XT, and my current Astro A50. No contest; the Nova Pro is truly unrivaled.
My goal was to find something to replace the Astro A50 gen 4 because of the cumbersome nature of hooking to a PS5 that is using a 120hz TV. Long story short you have to run an optical cable for. The TV to the base station. Even then it frequently disconnects and you constantly have to unplug and plug the usb into the base station.
I’ve struggled to find anything comparable audio-wise to the Astro’s for a while, but recently purchased multiple headsets to compare for my friends and myself.
At the end of a weekend of testing, without getting too technical, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro won. The out of the box flat audio profile is a step up from the custom EQ I was using on the Astro’s and it was also the most comfortable of all the headsets mentioned. It’s extremely light and fits wonderfully.
To hook up you just plug the included DAC into the PS5 and turn the headset on. Bingo. Done. No custom EQ needed, sounds perfect out of the box using the flat profile. Texting was initially done in Warzone with the Boost High profile in the game. Subsequent testing was done in Persona 5, Cyberpunk 2077, and Gran Turismo 7. The headset sounds absolutely incredible, honestly.
The Bluetooth is seamless as well. Once paired, if you’re in a game you can listen to anything from a connected device on top of the game audio. A feature I’ve been wanting for a while. Great for when browsing around between games. Also, if you receive a call you’ll hear a faint beeping sound that is very easy on the ears. Game and chat audio is muted when you answer or make a call.
The DAC included is awesome. Every option can be controlled from it seamlessly, without the need for connecting to a PC. In a league of its own here.
The ANC is ok, not amazing or anything. However, when activated, the side tone of your mic sounds absolutely incredible. It’s like hearing yourself speak without a headset on. It makes it extremely comfortable to have conversation during games etc.. hard to explain but the side tone is in a league of its own compared to the other headsets tested here.
In closing, this was easily chosen out of the $200-$500 group as the top choice. Worth every penny.

By far the best headset I've used for gaming. My favorite feature of the Nova Pro, is the ability to hear audio on console, while simultaneously on a phone call with my wife. I don't buy white headsets but the quality of the product has far exceeded my expectancy of the ability to attract dirt. The sound quality is like an IMAX 3D surround sound experience held by pillows for your ears. 10/10 recommend for all gamers and music lovers.

Sound stage and software are great. The mic is amazing, and my buddy says I sound how I would sound in person. The fit is a little tight. I had to order aftermarket ear cups to be able to endure a long gaming session. The DAC is a nice feature however it seems to just crash out of nowhere and I’ll have to unplug and replug to get my mixing feature on the DAC back.

I’ll start with cons first.
-the ps5 and Xbox differences in sku is stupid.
-not comfier than my Sony WHXs
Pros
-swappable batteries are the top reason to own this headset. I never have to worry if they are charged.
-tuner is easy to use and very convenient.
-I can use these on my tv, computer, and phone, with no trouble.
-audio quality is superb.
Basically convenience is king with these headphones.
Definitely worth it if you see them on sale.

Great so far !! The Nova Pro Wireless delivers rich, balanced sound with tight, impactful bass and crystal-clear mids and highs. Its support for 360° spatial audio makes it easy to pinpoint in-game cues (like footsteps or distant gunfire), giving you a competitive edge and a more immersive experience in any title

I had to replace my old Astro wired headset, and I am loving this one. Easy initial setup, lightweight, comfortable, and fantastic sound quality. The only two things I would change are the location of the mute button being on the back of the left side and having the mic extend just a little bit further.

I was talked into this brand/product by a Best Buy employee.
These are comfortable to wear but are not worth the price in my opinion. Using them for COD Black Ops games I was unable to get them dialed in to hear footsteps or other details on my PS5. Sound Quality and bass are great, just not as responsive as they should be for the price.
I returned them for another brand at half price and am happier with the less expensive headset.

Huge upgrade in sound quality and comfort over my old A50 pro headphones. I really like steel series software for managing eq and channels as they call them. It gives you the ability to put different apps in different “channels” like apps, chat, games, music. The dac is also easy to control and use while in game.

Pretty good, bought this for the man. He does PC AND ps5 and works good for both. I play gakes with him so when he talks through it, its pretty clear. Its adjustable how loud you want your voice to be which is nice. I cant do that with my mic so i would probably get my own pair but for when it goes down at least $50 during a sale or something. He also purchased some custom cushions to replace on the headsets, comes in differnt color, we had like a armour color. Looks good.

Battery life is probably the worst thing about this headset. You do get a replaceable which is sometimes annoying to replace. You can charge directly but have to have the side piece off. To me it's an odd spot for it to plug into. Best thing is that it is very comfortable on my head and ears. Very light weight and I don't get hot while wearing them. A little spendy for what you get. The hub is a nice touch for extra controller and the charging.

Great set to have. The clarity in the sound is amazing. You hear everything. It goes both ways though, I've been told they hear the crispness on the other end of the mic. Comfy even for a prolonged period of time. Great set to use as a second set of headphones for music

Treated myself to this headset a couple months back. I can confidently say that this is one of the best purchases I’ve made in recent memory. Very nice quality of life upgrade. Love that you can connect to your phone via Bluetooth while playing games. Sound is great. Very comfortable and easy to adjust. Highly recommend.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova headset exceeded my expectations right out of the box. The build quality feels solid yet lightweight, and the adjustable headband and breathable ear cushions make it incredibly comfortable for long gaming sessions—I’ve worn it for hours without any discomfort or heat buildup.
Sound quality is where the Arctis Nova really shines. The spatial audio creates a truly immersive experience, especially in FPS games where directional awareness is crucial. Bass is deep without being overwhelming, and the highs are crisp and detailed. Whether I’m gaming, watching movies, or listening to music, the audio performance is consistently impressive.
The retractable microphone is crystal-clear and does a great job of cutting out background noise. Teammates have commented on how much better I sound compared to my previous headset.
I also appreciate the intuitive software customization through SteelSeries GG, which allows me to tweak EQ settings and create profiles for different games. The battery life (on wireless models) is strong, easily lasting a full day of use.
Overall, the Arctis Nova is a fantastic headset for gamers who want comfort, excellent sound, and reliable communication. Highly recommended for both casual and competitive players.

These are truly some great console headphones. I hooked them up to a PS5 and the connected was flawless. The best thing about them is that they're light. You don't feel them even after several hours and the extra batteries means you never miss a moment.
