I've owned about every gaming headset for gaming. I take my gaming audio as serious as I take with my gaming monitors, consoles, and PC's. These are hands down the BEST headset I've ever used and owned.

Great headset if you can get it for 250$ but if you are going to pay more than that its really not worth it

To address the elephant in the room, these are quite pricey. I have never purchased a gaming headset at this price range. The stars kind of aligned as I was looking to replace my gaming headset, while also being interested in a pair of noise cancelling bluetooth headphones. I decided to take the plunge and commit to using them as often as possible to justify the cost. After doing so, I feel I can say they were worth it for me. Though I have not owned any other headsets as expensive, no other pair I have had has ticked off every box the way this one does. It wireless connectivity has been excellent. Reaching somewhere around 30ish feet away through multiple walls before having any issue. I havent tested out the bluetooth as much but, for range, it seemed satisfactory as well. They plenty comfortable. I prefer the goggle style headband these have as traditional headbands tend to cause some pain after longer sessions of wearing them. The ear cups are a good size as well, and a bit more breathable than I was expecting for leather. Though my ears, of course, still do get warm eventually. I have heard some complaints about the noise cancelling hardware in the ear cup protruding to far. For me, I can occasionally feel it touch my ear but it is not very frequent. I would prefer it not to be the case but its not too big a deal. Though of course mileage may vary based on how it fits your head. I would recommend trying it out if your local Best Buy or other retailer has one on display. Sound quality is absolutely amazing. Now I am not an audiophile and I am sure there are dedicated headphones that can match or beat these for far less. However, compared to its gaming competition? I am extremely happy with how they sound. They 100% provide the best music listening experience I have had out of a gaming headset. They get loud and the sound experience is great for gaming as well. I was pretty surprised at how much bass they pump out overall. However, the sound quality seems to be a bit lesser when it comes to bluetooth. Which wouldn't bother me as much if there was also a bit of background noise when using bluetooth. Which for the price, dissapointed me a bit. Bluetooth is not a perfect technology, but even my pair of 1st gen Razer Opus' dont have background hiss in bluetooth. So something to keep in mind if you plan on using them via bluetooth often. Though it will be less noticeable when playing music. Steelseries engine is one of the better gaming peripheral software suites. Seems to provide plenty of options while being fine to use and doesnt seem to hog resources in the background. It is miles better than Synapse and iCue in my opinion. Though I havent used iCue in over a year now so perhaps the landscape is a bit different now. Regardless, their software suite is certainly not a negative. Similarly, the Dac is a nice to have. I like having a little hub station for it. I do kind of wish it operated like the Astro A50s where I could rest it on the Dac or something those lines. Though it is not the end of the world or anything. The Dac itself has decent options and the dial feels pretty nice actually. The Dac also has separate inputs for Playsation/PC and Xbox which can make using it for 2 setups more intuitive than otherwise. Though I only use it for pc and occasionally mobile via bluetooth. The Dac also allows you to charge the 2nd removable battery while one is in the headset. Basically making battery life a non issue. Which is probably my favorite feature. I havent had to charge this thing a single time since I can just hot swap batteries when low. The battery for the headset and the 2nd battery in the Dac is shown on its display as well so you always know how much juice you have. This system is especially great as the type c port for charging or connecting juts out from the side of the headset. Which is a very awkward angle if you were trying to wear it while plugged in. As for the life of each battery, I dont know specifics. It hasnt been at the forefront of my mind since I dont need to worry about it as much. With that in mind I would say it gets around 15-20ish hours if I had to guess based on my usage. So a good few gaming or music sessions before needing to swap the batteries. All in all, this headset is fantastic. The only real gripes would be the unspectacular bluetooth performance and the pieces that jut out in the ear cup sometimes. Which, for the price, do stick out a bit more than they otherwise would. However, it performs so well in other areas that I would say it has been worth the price for me. As long as it holds up I wont be changing this headset out any time soon.

Obsessed! This headset is super comfortable and feels lightweight when wearing. The earcups are comfortable, and actually don’t make my ears feel hot like some other pleather cups do. The headset is easy to adjust for the perfect fit. I LOVE being able to switch out the batteries and never having to be hooked up to a charging cord. You just pop off the magnetic cover on the right ear cup and switch it out, easy peasy. The headset automatically reconnects within seconds. The preloaded presets are nice. I haven’t even attempted to make a custom one because I like the ones it came with. Sound is INSANE. I am deaf in one ear and nearly deaf in the other and I can get these loud enough to hear footsteps. If you don’t have hearing loss these get loud enough to give you some. Bluetooth is easy to connect to my phone, and I love that I can walk around with my phone and stay connected and not have to be near the hub. Range on these is really good too!! Everyone I’ve chatted with says mic quality is really good, both over console and on the phone. I’ve been happy with it in the clips I have taken. I haven’t used the headset with more than just my console, so I can’t speak to the ease of switching between PC/Console. My one complaint is the neef in sidetone. If you had an older SteelSeries you may be familiar with sidetone - and I know it’s not a popular choice, but I always kept mine wide open because I like being able to hear everything going on in my house while I’m gaming, or be able to have a conversation with someone in the room while gaming. Even at the highest level with these, I can’t hear anything. So for those of you that love noise canceling - these are going to be an absolute dream for you.

TL:DR – Costly headset, great audio, great build quality, lots of features, tiny ANC speaker is annoying and can cause discomfort, ears may get sweaty after long use. Look for aftermarket ear cushions with cooling gel. If you have the cash for it, then get it. If you want to continue reading I got some notes for pros and cons. Watch a youtube video review on these things which is what I did. My 4star review is mostly because of this stupid Active Noise Cancelling speaker built into the ear cup. I'll start with the cons first, which I think they're tolerable. Major con is this little speaker installed in the middle of the ear cup. This is meant for Active Noise Cancelling. Depending on the shape of your ear and/or the position of the headset, this speaker can rub up against parts of your ear. After a while this could potentially cause irritation and pain. Something I would recommend Best Buy do is have this headset on display to allow you to try it on and wear/feel it out for yourself. Some people don’t have any issues with this, others might. I unfortunately am part of the few that would have to deal with this. I don’t really use ANC, I’m thinking of putting some kind of felt around the speaker to potentially ease the pressure of the edge rubbing against my ear. A slight con is the material used for the ear cushion, again in order to achieve Active Noise Canceling, SteelSeries made their cushion out of a type of material that could trap heat, after long sessions of wearing this headsets your ears may get sweaty. I’m not sure if SteelSeries or a 3rd party will make cushions with cooling gels but heres hoping. At times you may hear some cracks in your audio, it hasn’t been a bad issue for me but its noticeable. The price... For what it’s worth this headset comes loaded with features and can do things that other headsets can’t. You could almost call it a complete package, which in case you’re paying for it. You may not need some of these features, case in point the ANC which I don’t use. You could do as good or good enough with a cheaper headset and get about the same audio or build quality. Now for the pros. This headset is loaded with features, hot swapable battery, ability to use both bluetooth and wireless connection at the same time, ability to control chat and game volume directly from the headset, retractable mic boom, EQ settings both on software and in the dongle, the build quality is nice the headset doesn’t feel flimsy, the audio settings are amazing, software allows you to tweak the EQ to your liking. The part about the swappable battery, you can charge your spare battery from the dongle that connects to your devices, or you can plug in a USB C cable directly into the headset and charge that way, battery life lasts a while. The mic is amazingly sensitive, I had to use the software to tone it down. This may sound like a con, but I was using Astro A40 headsets before, and no matter what people couldn’t seem to hear me at times unless I was shouting. So the mic on this headset is a night and day difference. The audio sounds amazing, for the average user they may not be able to tell the difference other than this headset sounds good, for anyone else that is an audiophile, you couldn’t do much better using these. There are other headsets which apparently sound even better but they may be lacking in features. Ignoring the ANC speaker that can cause some irritation, this headset feels comfortable around the ear and head. It feels snug enough for me that it’s not squeezing my head and it’s not too loose where it’s going the fall off the moment I look down. The range for wireless is good, I’ve used this headset around the house and at the office, walked past some walls and an elevator, didn’t lose connection.

Hands down amazing! I had past models of the wireless pros and these improve on them in every way possible! Faster and easier set up for all. It caters to audiophiles for customization on pc or Mac. Also to people who do not want to mess specific tones and want something plug and play the basic presets to choose from are amazing. If you have a PS5, series X, and/or PC this is a must buy! Flawlessly cycle to each system quick and easy!!!! I currently have my Xbox, pc, and ps5 connected to the base. Bluetooth my phone and or switch to them easy. Does come with an audio jack which is amazing if I am not working from home but in the office I just connect to pc or laptop and I am ready. I also use these all day for work. They are comfortable all day headsets!! Mic is amazing especially for gaming or meetings clear crisp sound and it does filter out a lot of the background noise like AC, fans, neighbors mowing the lawn. The Noise cancelling is also top notch. I have the Sony MX5 and this rivals the best noise cancelling on the market. Love the swap out battery as well I wish all my headset have that. Must buy hands down best money I spent! I literally do not even take them off. I am at work and the straight to gaming if I do free time after work.

These are very good headphones. For the right person, they will be the last pair of gaming headphones you will purchase for many years. The features on offer here are just unparalleled. However, the earcups are not good for most people, the cost is high, and the overall sound quality is good but not necessarily great. Pros: - Base station - actually super helpful - Swappable batteries - this effectively gives you infinite battery life - Simultaneous Bluetooth + 2.4 wireless connections - wonderful feature, just note that much cheaper headsets also have this - Competitive sound - I found these headphones picked up on footsteps and directionality extremely well - Noise cancelation is fine, the noise isolation is quite good though so combined they block a lot of noise. Cons: - Cost (obviously) - Comfort (out of the box) - for many people, the ear cushions are just not big enough and you will need to buy 3rd-party pads to make them comfortable - Enjoyability of the sound - the overall sound leaves something to be desired, which I will elaborate on further below Neither: - The mic is adequate. Nothing more, nothing less. - Transparency mode is nice to have... but pretty bad. Only to be used for very short periods. Full Review: I have used the SteelSeries Arctis 7X as my gaming headphones for the past 2.5 years or so. Solid headphones for the price, with particularly excellent comfort and adequate sound quality. I had been eying the nova pro wireless ever since release. The dual inputs on the docking station, simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz connection, and unique battery swapping setup made these particularly appealing. I also was hoping for a fairly substantial audio uplift compared to my previous headphones. The main downside of the nova pro wireless, obviously, is the price. $350 is a lot for a gaming headset. That said, you can definitely find them on sale. I purchased them for $280, and I've seen them as low as $250 before. I finally decided to pull the trigger on these a few weeks ago. On the bright side, the features are exactly as good as advertised. The battery swapping, simultaneous connections, and dual inputs are extremely convenient. The sound quality, in terms of competitive audio, is also very good. I noticed footsteps positioning noticeably better than I could on my Arctis 7x. At the same time, the noise cancelation, while subtle (and nowhere near Bose, Sony, or Airpods), combines with the leather cushions to give very good noise isolation, allowing you to focus on your game in a noisy environment. The comfort, however, can be pretty bad. The microphone inside the ear cups does press against my ear after an hour or two, an occurrence which will undoubtedly get worse the more these are used. The leather cushions also get hot fast. Both of these issues are solved with $30 replacements from wicked cushions. If you really like these headphones but the comfort is a problem, buy the wicked cushions without hesitation, they really make the experience so much better. That said, that's an extra $30 on top of an already expensive headset. Something to keep in mind. Oh, and the mic is fine. Not amazing, not terrible, but fine. If you are on PC, use the Steelseries sonar software. It really is great and helps both the audio and mic to a certain extent. Now I want to go more in-depth into the audio. As I stated previously, the positional accuracy really is quite good. Footsteps are easy to hear and the directionality is very good. That said, a very different question would be how enjoyable is the sound? Not that great. You can EQ these for music. You can EQ them for gaming (on pc). But the sound quality is just good. Again, I'm not saying they sound bad, they sound fine. But just fine. At least to me. That said, if you like or are okay with how they sound, these are a great headset (after fixing the comfort) with unparalleled features. Legitimately if you want these features, there's nothing else on the market like them and they are amazing. If however, you are seeking superior sound for gaming and music and are willing to give up these features, keep reading as there are other options. Up to this point in my life, I had only ever heard Bose, Beats, and the AirPods max. So it is not like I have been a longtime audiophile, I have been firmly in the consumer audio camp my entire life. However, given the high price tag of this headset, I decided to take a look at the other non-"gaming" headphones out there and see if something in the audiophile space could be better for hopefully less money. I settled on the Sennheiser hd560s (bought at $150) as my test case of choice. Since I am gaming with these, I picked up a $20 boom mic on Amazon. When I put the hd560s on and started listening to music (I know, I am looking for a gaming headset, I'll get to that) I was absolutely floored. Coming from consumer closed-back headphones my whole life I was blown away by the soundstage (how wide the sound feels), the detail and instrument separation, and particularly vocals. They sound phenomenal, leagues better than the SteelSeries and significantly better than my AirPods max. Now gaming, that's what you want to know. Footsteps and gunshots are extremely clear. Remember that instrument separation (aka imaging)? That shows big time while gaming. It doesn't matter what explosion or chaos is going on, you can still hear everything perfectly with pristine detail. Positionally, I'd say it's just as good as the SteelSeries. But everything just sounds better. Gunshots and footsteps are so much cleaner and fuller. The sense of immersion and width of the sound is so much greater. The soundtrack and background music sound miles better. The sound difference was the dramatic jump over the 7x's that I had hoped the nova pro wireless would be, and then exceeded my expectations. Oh, and the $20 boom mic is fine. Not really any worse than the nova pro. So for $170 all in, these are a massive sound quality boost over the nova pro wireless for far cheaper. All of that said, the hd560s are wired. they have no simultaneous connections and no docking station. They have no noise cancelation, and the open-back design lets a lot of noise through (and allows for some noise bleed, although it honestly isn't terrible), although it does allow for mic usage without mic monitoring in my opinion. They are a different class of product. However, the 560s offer a far superior audio experience than the nova pro for much cheaper. As I said earlier though, it all comes down to your priorities. I really thought I needed wireless, and the features the nova pro wireless had to offer. I realized I did not really need them, as nice as they are, and personally, I decided to prioritize sound quality over some convenience benefits. If you are like me and just want to make sure you want a "gaming" headset, I'd recommend purchasing a gaming headset of choice and then also purchasing something like the hd560s from best buy. Try both out for a week or two and then return the one you do not want. This is what I did and I do not regret it. Either route you go, I believe you will be happy as both of these are very good products, just with their own audiences.

I was a fan of turtle beach for years till i realized there is something better...WAY BETTER..The sound quality on these are amazing.the batter life is awesome I wear glasses and the comfort with these are amazing. I sometimes forget i have my glasses on. I couldnt stress enough how these have changed the way i game ..its like you are in the game. If you can afford to buy these take the leap and buy these ..they will not disappoint..HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

The best gaming headset I could find. The software is a bit tricky/complicated, but not too bad. You'll definitely need to make adjustments out of the box. The complaints I've read are almost all user error. You can fix them in the software. I have a large head. Hat size ~8 1/4. They were a bit too snug out of the box. Not nearly as bad as most, though. That issue is also fixable. If you carely stress the metal band at the top backwards, it will eventually loosen up a bit. I can't tell these are on my head anymore. I also upgraded the ear cups, as recommended by many online reviewers. They were comfortable enough out of the box, but with the upgraded cups and the band bend trick... They're perfect. Having the supplied spare battery is a big win. The input out on the controller is a plus. I have my speakers connected directly to this and never have to change audio inputs.

Coming from the ASTRO A40TR headset (great headset but had connection issues at times) anyhow are the Steel Series Nova Pros worth the $350 Price tag? NOPE. Not a bad headset and I enjoy them but for $350 there should be a wow factor and i dont experience that with these. Now some of my issues could be because of my settings and having to learn more about equlization, however im using dolby atmos and im still not impressed by the price tag. Now of course if im comparing to my base line $50 Rigs then of course I'd be blow away but thats not the case. My astro a40s cost me $180 and checked many boxes. But im not counting the Nova pros out....i think i hear things like footsteps better, im able to connect my phone via bluetooth while gaming which allows for me to listen to music or videos while i wait in lobby. The interchangeable recharge batter packs make it to where you never run out of charge. If i get the equalizer perfect combined with dolby atmos then i believe that this could get an upgrade to 5 star. Apparently theres software for this on the pc that makes a huge difference but this doesnt help xbox or console players. If you do buy these 100% buy it for the xbox because youll gave the compatibility with pc/ps5/etc. If you buy the Playstation version it doesnt work on other consoles. And i think if youre paying 350 for a headset it better work for everything

These are the best headphones for gaming and for general uses. Sure, there are multiple headphones that could be better, but these are something different, the bass is amazing as well. If you want to connect the Bluetooth to a device, it immediately connects to my phone. and the 2.4 gHz is really fast as well, it finds the bay station quickly. I don't really use the mic on the headset a lot because I have a separate mic, but the mic sounds nice and smooth. The battery life is amazing, there isn't anything wrong with it, when the battery finishes, the other battery that was charging in the bay station was already at 100% so I don't need to charge the battery overnight (you can if you want because if you remove the left cap thing, there is a usb-c connecter on it. Overall, this headset is the best for anyone trying to have an amazing wireless experience.

Headset is a straight upgrade in quality over the previous Arctis Pro. As someone who uses my headset for many different devices, it's nice that it works with all of them. The sound is good and microphone quality is what you would expect from a wireless headset. The battery life is phenomenal and lasts me about 20+ hrs. But if that's still not enough the quick swap batteries take only a few seconds to switch. However, the headset is best used through SteelSeries' Sonar software. Without it, EQ options and customization is limited. A large annoyance is the ANC speaker in the ear piece protrudes far enough to hurt after a while. This was solved with custom ear pads but, I feel this should not be necessary for a 350$ headset. Pictures included show the piece im talking about and the stock width (detatched one) vs the new earpieces. The last disappointment is the connectors between the headband and earpieces are plastic again which will be the first piece to break after wear and tear.
