Sunset Overdrive tries its best to be the next big thing in open-world sandbox games; it fuses gameplay familiar to Tony Hawk veterans with over-the-top weapons and powers more akin to a Saints Row game. On paper it seems like a good idea, but it ends up falling short of its vision by just not doing anything spectacularly. The humor is okay, but the game comes off more as if it's just trying too hard to be edgy. It's got some good customization options for your player character, and some fun weapons, but there are other games out there that you could be playing as well. It's not a bad game if you can get it on sale, but I probably wouldn't pay full price for it.

I had initially bought this game at launch but traded it in shortly after completing the campaign. Great game all around. It was like Infamous SS but with more comedy and different art style. Went on sale and had to have it back in my collection.

Action, action, and more action. This is all you need to know about Sunset Overdrive. There is never a moment where you're not doing something. And these tasks are not those tedious ones that you dread. The pacing of this game is great. Truthfully, after watching the trailer from E3, I didn't care for this game. However, after numerous positive reviews and adulations, I had to check it out since I want more exclusive Xbox One games. To my surprise, this is one of the best gaming experiences of the year. Make sure to snag remaining copies of the Day One Edition.

It's a lot like Jet Grind Radio but with weapons instead of just spray paint. The controls are solid and the world itself is big and open. Multiplayer isn't bad either if that's your thing. If you have a bone this is definitely worth picking up.

This game is awesome! I have both Xbox One and PS4, and was honestly wondering when my X1 would get the star quality game that it has been somewhat lacking. Then SO came out. This game is everything that I wanted for a long time. A nice story, satirical gameplay, do-whatever-you-want feel, and the gameplay itself is smooth and crisp. So far, the story is even engaging, and the missions feel new all of the time cause of the weapons that you can buy and upgrade. The online multiplayer is really well done as well, and I know I wouldn't get bored for a long while.

For a third person shooter, I thought that sunset over drive is a fun game to play. I find that shooting up monsters and blowing things up was fascinating. Sunset overdrive is one of the best exclusive Microsoft has offer since the 360.

I got this product on sale for 25 bucks, 19.99 with gamers club unlocked, which I would highly recommend. I can't speak highly enough about it, it's such a fresh new IP, it's fun, funny, vast, and enjoyable. A must buy for any XBOX owner.

While the previews for the game looked good, the game play itself was just standard. I had figured I would enjoy this game considering how much I'd enjoyed Infamous and Dead Rising. However, the graphics were pretty good. I did enjoy the corny-ness of the announcers and the commentary throughout the game. It definitely made me laugh. I did not appreciate how frustrating it was to actually play the game itself. Missions were long, lots of running, very little to do on the way, few side missions, and the "co-op" mode was not used by many, so very much a solo game. I would say it was a game to play...but definitely not one I'd have gone to buy again.

This game is completely off the wall zany and I loved every minute of it. Laughs to be had and weird energy drink zombies to be killed. Tons of crazy weapons to choose from and a huge vibrant world to explore. Could not recommend enough.

This game plays like a cross between Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Infamous. Performing tricks powers up your character so you can fight off the alien enemies. It's loads of fun and the graphics are great. Excellent Xbox One exclusive title.

I got it while it was on sale because I didn't feel it warranted full price for what it is, but it's an enjoyable title. It's fun, funny, has a neat art style, and if you've been gaming a while, you'll enjoy its style of humor.

This is one of my favorite games. It's like a self aware, parodic, punk rock version of Rachet and Clank. I honestly tell anyone I know with an Xbox that it's necessary playing, especially at the current prices a year later.

This game is unique amongst video games. It is a lot of fun. The world is highly detailed and the graphics are outstanding. The game reminds the player that you are playing a video game and causes in game situations to be more fun.

This is a fun, colorful game that brings the heart of PlayStation games onto the platform. This won't be a serious romp through a post-apocalyptic world like fallout. It is a colorful funny love letter from a great studio.

For how wacky this game comes off as, it is fun to play. It is a game that constantly keeps on the go (as staying stationary will almost result in death from the mutants). Of course, it is MUCH more fun if played with friends.

The game gets off to a slow start and takes a considerable effort to fully grasp, but once you get comfortable and unlock more abilities, it is a real blast to play. Try to be patient if you're not having fun right away!

Unless you hate fun. This is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. XBox always has some of the best exclusive IPs and this is no exception. If you've never played it, you don't know what you're missing.

for people who play heavily this game should last about a week maybe more if you want to go after more achievements. a month or more if you want to do everything possible in the game. and its quite good the whole time

One of my favorite games of all time is Resistance a Fall of Man and it was made by the studio who brought you this game. I don’t think I’ve ever played a bad insomniac game. Another great one.

This game has gotten good reviews all around but for some this game may be considered pretty short in length. I wouldnt pay full price for it but whenever its on sale id recommend picking it up and giving it a try.
