This controller is the best way to play Super Smash Brothers on any of the last 3 Major Nintendo home consoles. It is made the exact same way the originals were for the Gamecube. To play on the Wii U or Nintendo Switch, You will need the Gamecube adapter (Sold separately).

Triggers are not the same as the original GameCube controllers and it feels a bit lighter but still functions

How can you not own a Gamecube Controller for Smash? Well, at the very least, anyone who's played the series for a while will just not feel comfortable without this controller. You do need to have the adapter though...you can use your Wii U one if you still have it.

Feels just like the original Gamecube controllers. Buttons all feel springy and responsive. Construction is solid. Cable is long enough to reach the Switch by the TV. The Smash Ultimate logo is a nice touch. Highly recommended if you plan on playing Smash Ultimate!

GameCube controllers have been a big thing in the Smash community ever since Melee and it’s because the ABXY layout works for Super Smash Bros. It’s possibly the perfect controller for Smash. I’m probably being biased on this review.

I love this silly controller. It feels so good to use, and is basically required if I’m playing Smash! This one is no exception!

This is a great purchase if you are serious about Smash Ultimate. it definitely brings back memories and takes no new learning if you are used to it. My only request would be to add extra joystick rubber tops since those are usually the first to wear out.

The quality of this controller is identical to the original GameCube one (as intended), better than the wireless version in my opinion. sure it's not wireless, but if you're competitive in Smash, then this will be you most reliable option.

The controller feels almost exactly like the gamecube original controller. The analog stick feel different but well made. That said, I was dissapointed to find my controller shipped with a slightly defective left analog stick, as it does not center correctly. I bought this to play Smash but forgot the adapter. It's a great controller and has no issue with it. But if you buy it for the switch do not forget to buy the adapter for 20$. Also if you are buying this for the switch they make a wireless one for 50.

The GameCube controller is perfect for super smash bros. It’s user friendly and feels more natural. It also works really well with Mario Kart. Also for those that grew up with GameCube, it’s a nostalgic feeling to pick up the GameCube controller again

This controller works great! It feels nice, and it works just like the original gamecube controller! Working vibration, nice buttons, and perfect for smash bros. I fully tested this on smash bros ultimate using the official adapter and it works great!

I own like six of these. A Wavebird, an OG GameCube version, a Japanese one from the Wii U (for the longer cable), and three of the Switch iterations. I have a couple of the OEM adapters too, so hopefully Smash will always support them!

I played gamecube for a really long time and this controller plays exactly like the original. The only differences i found are a much longer cord and a textured grip, both improvements in my opinion. Really good for smash ultimate and mario kart 8

This new GameCube controller from Nintendo is great for Super Smash Bros. Its also good that the controller works on the Wii and the GameCube even if it was released recently. For $30, you can't go wrong with this controller in my opinion.

I’ve been playing smash bros since the beginning and honestly can’t imagine playing with any other controller. It’s nice to be able to pick up a new one to replace my worn out GameCube one and great that they continue to support it.

it is so good controller for Smash Bros. in the other place, there are a lot of similar controller, but it doesn't give same feeling to me. if you are looking for good controller for Smash Bros., just take it. it is best option.

Most everyone is familiar with the Gamecube, if not they've at least heard of some games that were home to the system. The best, in my opinion of these being Super Smash Bros Melee. Melee fans cemented the GameCube controller's spot on the game controller hall of fame due to the sheer power of that community and I'm so happy Nintendo listened to those fans and brought the controllers back for originally Smash 4 on the Wii U but again with Ultimate on the Switch. It's ergonomic, all of the buttons are nice and clicky, etc. The only issue, which is kind of a nitpick unless you're a pro Smash player, is the triggers being a little stiff until you've broken them in. But give it a few hours playing with friends and they shouldn't be much of a problem.

Controller feels great, has a longer than normal cord so i can play from the couch

I was Surprised to find this controller at Best Buy months after it skyrocketed in price. It is one of the best controllers ever, especially for smash bros. If you ever find one, grab it, I couldn’t recommend enough.
