First, I got thus camera for my school - our only option was wireless, unless we wanted to pay for very expensive installation. This camera isn't great, but for the price it’s good. Setup was easy, via the app. The camera has a fish eye lens, which is great. Recharging isn’t super convenient, but it’s easy to pull it down, thanks to the magnetic holder. It’s an, decent, inexpensive wireless camera.

I want to be very factual. I have set up cameras before and this has been the most difficult one I have done. Nothings East and they should begin with reduction of total packaging that it comes in because it’s a waste. Now onto the product. After charging for more than 24 hours the battery is still only at 50%. The indicator light went off so I thought it was fully charged. I set up the camera and there is a two second delay for the live stream. Even though I have updated the firmware it still says it needs an update. It’s the 24th today at 6:30pm and it says the insta lion date is 8/25. Camera has fish eye look that I’m not that impressed with. I’d say to Swann make it more turn key let it auto update and maybe there is a chance for this camera. Because when I purchased at 149 and the there is a reduction before I have even received the camera says it all. Sorry would not repeat purchase this item to secure my entire home.

Because it is wireless, this camera was simple to set up and install. There were some bumps in the road. But, I chalked them up to my crappy internet. It didn’t take long to set up the app and connect. Though, it did seem kind of glitchy. If I keep it at the front door, I may purchase the solar charger. I do find that it takes time to start up the Live View and sometimes the connection gets lost. Again, chalk that up to my internet. Initially, I set it up at the front door as I wanted to see how well the motion sensor and night vision worked. It’s pretty cool. Plus, the HD camera has a wide field of view. The magnetic mount makes it easy to take off and charge. However, the glue didn’t hold and the camera and mount fell onto my porch in the middle of the night. Thank goodness it hit the door mat and not the concrete. I had always planned to set it up in the game room to monitor and communicate with my kids while gaming and doing homework. However, I will leave it at the front door until school starts.

I am not a tech wiz so having something that is simple to set up is a plus for me. I ran into a few issues with connecting to WiFi but was able to successfully connect after a few tries and haven’t had issues since. The picture isn’t sharp but this isn’t an expensive lens or camera. And for my purposes, it gets the job done. So, if you’re looking for a camera that gets very clear images, you should look elsewhere. I like the slim look of it. It’s not bulky and isn’t an eye sore on my front porch. The motion notifications got to be a bit much as I have a dog and it would alert me about movement. But it’s as easy as disabling that feature. Overall, I think it’s good quality for the price. It gets the job done and makes you feel more secure in your home.

A lot of the reviews mention the quality of the photo imagery, which is fair. The product does indeed have a blurry image due to the fact that it's a wide lens view. That said, this isn't a $500 security camera and I would say that the quality of the item is appropriate with the cost. I found the set up to be a little clunky, but I figured it out eventually. I believe the set up issue may have been the fact that I wasn't close to my router or simply user error. Since set up, it's worked great and not gone offline. I did need to disable the motion alerts because they were constant in a busy home. I've had the product running off the battery now several days and haven't had to recharge the battery. Some reviews suggest it can go a couple of months without a charge; we'll see. That would be a great thing. Overall, I'd buy one or two more of these if I wanted a larger surveyed area for my home (and probably will). They are decent value for the price. If you want pristine photos of people on your monitor though, this probably isn't your product.

Easy to install and love that it’s wireless! Downloading the app and connecting to the camera was simple and straightforward. Would recommend it to a friend/family. Great quality for the price!

The Swann Wireless Security Camera is a great addition to our home. We have actually tried a few different ones and like how this one is both small (smaller than our other!) and has a wide angle. I provided a side by side to show the different views from the same mounting point. I’m looking forward to being able to use this outside when we no longer need to use it as an in home monitor. The other advantage to this camera is it doesn’t require a “hub” or other hardware to use. The set up was very simple and the app is really user friendly!

This is my first security camera and so far I'm not that impressed. First of all, it only comes with a Quick Start Guide so you will have to go online to search for the user’s manual from a long list of manuals. It would’ve been nice if it was included in the box. The set up was okay because it’s wireless and there is no additional device needed other than internet. That being said, I did have to set it up more than once because of various error messages saying either “Swann Security was unable to load some of configuration from the device” or “Waiting: Swann Security is still waiting for the device configuration to load”. Since I already have a secure internet connection, why does the app always say “Opening secure connection” whenever I open “Live view”? It also seems to go offline quite a bit. Other Error messages I keep getting are (Connection has been lost; Failed to start live view playback due to device error; Live view from device has stopped; Unable to stream from camera). Now, after a couple days, I no longer get notifications (unless I physically move the camera) and I am no longer able to manually record something because the recording icon disappeared. I would also get an error message whenever I tried to take a picture. Only three icons remain - camera, microphone, and speaker. I'm not crazy about the 1 or 2 second delay when speaking or watching "Live view". I will try to set it up one more time… before I permanently delete it from my phone.

This camera isn't amazing, but for the price it’s pretty darn good. The setup was easy via the app. The camera has a wide, "fish eye", view, which will be appropriate for most, Use the screws (Included) to install (not sure where that tape would work, but not on any surface I would put it on). If you are looking for an inexpensive, decent, wireless camera, this may be a good option.

This camera isn't bad, but there are better ones out there - at higher prices. The app was easy to download and setup. The camera does present a "fish eye" view, which should be OK for most users. The double-stick tape on the camera mount does not stick to anything. Use the included screws. If you are looking for basic wireless camera monitoring, this would be a good option for you.

I just recently bought a new house and I have been researching wireless security cameras to install but I did not want to run wires and poke holes in my walls. The Swann wire-free security camera was my choice. The set- up was basic I just charged the camera to my computer via USB cord and mounted the base and with the enclosed adhesive stip. It’s great the camera mounts to the magnetic base. I just downloaded the Swann app and started viewing it in my living room. This is a great product, 1080p HD quality, heat and motion sensing, 180-degree view. I am very happy with this camera and I plan to buy 3 more for the rest of my house.

First I love that these stickers (see photos) are included to showcase that you are using cameras! I think this alone helps keep folks with ill intentions away. The setup of the camera was easy! The experience was similar to setting up a WiFi connection or a new app. The app is SUPER easy to use. We love the notifications it pushes when motion is detected. The video quality is much greater than what you pay for here. Really great deal! Would recommend to friends for all sorts of uses: baby monitor (has sound capability), pet or nanny cam, doorbell for packages, deer wildlife camera- truly will work for any use!

I purchased this camera as an add on to a system that I am currently using as I was looking for a camera with a wide angle view to capture a large part of my back yard. This camera is perfect! It was super easy to install and I love the magnetic mount. It has a clear picture and pickups movements and sends alerts to my cell phone. One added bonus are the handy theft detterant stickers that come with the camera.

Our son had the camera set up an the software loaded & operational within one hour.

This camera and the app and everything else about it sucks. The set up is awful. Took me several days and restarts to get it to finally connect to WiFi. The camera is never connected though. It never gives me alerts and is not easy to diagnose through the app. The app is terrible. It’s slow, as is the connection to the camera. It has to reconnect every time you open the app again and that takes way too long. ALWAYS shows the camera as connecting. I never get alerts. Which is why I have this camera. Someone could be right in front of it and it still doesn’t register. So much for security. The features are limited. It says it has a siren? How would it even be triggered if it can’t even register someone’s standing in front of the camera? Just a poorly built camera. I would not purchase this.

I'm giving this product one star, not because I can't give it zero, but because It's earned that star. It feels well built, and the magnetic mount works way better than I expected it to. Before it arrived, I actually went online to purchase a permanent mount directly from Swann. I haven't even opened that box because the magnetic mount worked so well. I can adjust it and it will remain where it's aimed. Plus, I knew that the camera would periodically need to be recharged, and the magnetic mount would make that handy. A little back story here. I purchased an LED motion light/Camera from Swann last year and was thrilled with it. It took 5 minutes to install and worked perfectly from the get go. Sure, I got some false detections, but they were few and far between. Two weeks later, Swann forced me to migrate to their new app. It completely broke my light. It didn't detect motion, it didn't record, it didn't do anything. I tried the text option for customer service multiple times and each time I received responses from someone named after a biblical figure. None were helpful. Paul kept asking me where my adapter was plugged in. I kept explaining that it was hard wired, yet he kept asking. His final response was, I understand that it is hard wired, but where is your adapter plugged in? I asked if he was a robot, and he replied no. I quit responding and called. When speaking to a person, he explained that Swann had lost their contract with their app developer and was in the process of rewriting the software. He had no solutions to offer except an RMA to return my light. I procrastinated the return, and eventually, my light did begin to work and it was better than the light I'd replaced, so I kept it. Updates began to trickle in, and although it's still not as good as it was when I first installed it, video quality, sound quality, etc., It did start to improve. Today, I'm not entirely unhappy with it. So, I ordered this product. As I mentioned earlier, It feels like quality work. I do love the magnetic mount. Unfortunately, I expected it to work on a comparable level to my porch light. The night I received it, I mounted it where I wanted it and then removed it to charge up overnight. I put it on the mount the next morning and then went to work. About an hour into work, I began getting motion detected alerts every 30 seconds or so. They never stopped. I tried to go through the app and change settings but the camera never would connect. By the end of the day, my camera battery was totally drained. There have been a couple of software updates since then, but nothing has changed. It will continually give false detections periodically, and then inexplicably stop for days. When it is not giving false detections, I have tested it by walking up to it several times. It does nothing. Tonight, I walked up to it with 100% battery reported and it did nothing until I waved my hand literally 1" from the camera. It is now plugged in with nothing happening in the bedroom and giving me motion detected alerts about every 30 seconds. If you've purchased this camera and can't return it, I'd recommend letting the battery run dead and use it as a decoy. I'm still rooting for it though. Fix it Swann!

It's great and comforting to have a wireless surveillance camera, and I found the installation and set up pretty easy. This is an HD camera with wide view, night vision and a motion sensor. It has a magnetic mount which I really like since it's super easy to take off when you need to charge it. The picture isn't 100% clear, but I am happy with it, especially considering the good price!

Camera has big fish eye lens, not the best picture. It took some time to get connected. Now it is connected, app would shut down at times. Also connecting to it took extremely long time. Sometimes it would even connect.

Love that I could tuck this camera among my decor to make it almost disappear! We have wired cameras on the outside and hadn't found a solution for the inside yet--This is it! The small wireless design makes it easy to put anywhere and I love that everything is available right on my phone!

Security camera works great! Installation is really easy; the back of the camera comes with 3M VHB tape. This means you don’t have to make new holes in your siding to put it up, just stick it anywhere you want. Then the camera is mounted with a super strong magnet, which allows you to rotate it at any angle you want. After its installed there is nothing more you need to do, just get the app and you have a full-time security camera. Saves all of your snippets of motion so you can look back. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and the battery isn’t even halfway used yet.
