    A Must Have Wide Angle

Let me start by saying that I am not a pro photographer. So my review will not have physics and metrics associated with it. How ever before purchasing I went through all the resources available online. To summarize the product - Pros - Good low light rendering. VC is superb and really works. 15-30mm is a very good useful range Cons- Very heavy and big lens . Takes some space in my bag. But worth carrying. The lens is super sharp all throughout the range. Best Buy was giving a 10% general discount which I applied while purchasing the lens.

Great ultra-wide zoom for Nikon D750

I needed an ultra-wide zoom lens for landscape and city-scape photography. I did consider some of the Nikon options (zoom and prime lenses), but after much research, I concluded this Tamron was the best option and at a price that made the decision a no-brainer. If you are researching this lens, I recommend reviews on photographylife.com, cameralabs.com, and dxomark.com. I can confirm everything those reviews say about this lens is true. A couple of things to keep in mind. Tamron uses aspherical elements on their high-end lenses, and the physics of those elements can result in onion-shaped bokeh of some objects, which can be an issue for some individuals. The other thing is Tamron's quality control, which seems to be not as good as Nikon or Canon. Common QC issues on Tamron lenses are decentering and front/back auto-focus. I recommend thorough testing for those issues, and exchange or return the lens if it proves problematic, which obviously implies buying the lens from a reputable seller, such as Best Buy. The downside of lenses of this type is the ability to accommodate filters (Nikon, Canon, Sigma, Samyang, and others have ultra-wide-angle lenses with the same deficiency). There are attachments that allow using drop-in filters, some of which are very expensive. I recommend the Haida filter 150 system as it is less expensive than the big brands (B+W, Lee, etc.) and is of equal quality. Haida also has screw-in filters for threaded lenses, which I also recommend them (I use them on my Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8) VC. This is really an excellent lens and I highly recommend it.

Great lens that rivals the NIkon 14-24!

Overall this is a great lens that rivals lenses like the more expensive Nikon 14-24. The Tamron lens gives you about 90% of the optical quality of the NIkon (basically, any variances are not very noticeable if you have a good copy of the lens) for about 2/3 the price of the Nikon lens. NOTE: Check your lens out for focusing issues before your return period ends to be sure. That goes for any lens, actually, or anything you buy.

I like this focal range a lot. IQ is petty decent. Not crazy about build quality. Seems like it could use some quality weather sealing. Not quite up to the current G2 series.

I have found this lense better than nikon 12-24mm lense and it half of its price. Sharpness is right from 15mm. Performs well in low loght.

Solid wide angle lens with a fast constant f2.8 aperture. Build quality is excellent but it is big and heavy.

I got this for a recent trip. Awesome lens. Better than similar lens from Nikon as this one from Tamaron has vibration reduction built in.Images were sharp. Perfect for landscape photography and also for scenarios where you are in a real tight spot to take pic. The overall build quality is nice and feels well built. Good work from Tamaron

This lens takes great wide angle shots. The fact that this has a 2.8 aperture also allows me to shoot in low light and still produce great images. I definitely recommend this lens for anyone looking for a wide angle zoom. More affordable than the 14-24mm that I was looking at getting.

Lens is amazing, Clear, Sharp, one of the best out there... Shot many Wide lenses before this takes the cake! better than nikons... especially for the money... Tamron is getting better and better every time they come out with a new lens! i own the 24-70, and the 70-200 all outstanding!

Works amazing on all f mount nikons but inconsistent on the z mount adapters so if i could go back in time I’d spend the extra $100 but it’s still such an amazing lens that it doesn’t bother me at all.

I bought this lens for landscapes and live theater (low light) situations. For my first theater shoot (very low light), it performed amazingly well. Very crisp images. Two published in local papers. A great lens!!!

I have no experience with the Nikon 14-24 so I cannot compare. With that said, I am extremely impressed with this lens. Great image quality and a great focal length when used properly in my opinion.
