I admit I change them out once a while even it they still work fine as well as power surge protectors.

Not enough rpm's to help at all

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I run a very powerful laptop with an Nvidia graphics card, the stock fans are super low rpm and don't provide much cooling at all, I ripped them out and put in a proper fan but not everyone would do that. Avoid if not diy savvy or willing.

Negligible Cooling Compared to Flat Surface

CPU and GPU temps under load were about 2 degrees C lower than using the laptop on a hard flat surface.... basically negligible. I would like to imagine there are cases in which this may be a useful product. This likely provides better airflow that a pile of blankets. I ordered a different cooling pad at the $80-100 price point and it does exactly what I needed.
